It's something that I do when I'm having poor success is to do a 180 on my casting direction to periodically keep the fish honest. More times than not it will lead to fish and as soon as I get bit I check my side imaging to see what they were holding onto in that deeper location. I've found a lot of brushpiles this way. Thx once again great topic
I have always preferred to fish blue bird sky type days. But lures aren't the only things that we can have confidence in. Sometimes we feel more comfortable fishing a certain type of situation or conditions.
Actually it did. We won the tournament. I have been watching your videos for awhile now. You definitely have made me think about a lot things on the water. THANKS 👍.
@@SteveRogersOutdoors heck yeah man. Hey if you come to Tennessee give me a holler I'll team up with you any day. I live on watts bar lake but Chickamauga is only 30 minutes from here. Great fishing right in the heart of Tennessee. We would love to have you. And my tournament partner has an air bnb right on the lake I could get you hooked up with him.
I have an old quarry that has some double digit bass that I fish and so far I havent been able to get anything to bite when the sun is out. The fish are out feeding, but they barely give any lure a glance. That place has always been known for a tough bite.
Some of those quarries are really tough. I'm assuming it is crystal-clear water. If it is, my best luck has always come when trying to keep a big distance between me and them when that sun is high.
Great content as always steve... i have specific lakes i only fish on blue bird days because i know the bass will be in certain shaded areas in high sun mid day. I find myself working harder because my confidence is off the chart and i know the fish are there, i kust need to find what they want to bite... thanks again
Great question. I usually find one of two things happens. In one scenario a bass feeding will turn the rest of the bass on and a frenzy can start. This will often lead to consecutive bites on consecutive casts. The other scenario is when one is caught, it will put the others on alert. In that situation, when I follow up with a cast and do not get bit right away, I will let it rest for a few minutes and then come back to it and most often another fish or two can be caught.
Very interesting. I for one want that sun out every day in the Winter. A cloudy 50 feels chillier than a sunny 40!
That’s for sure!
Caught some of my biggest bass around 2 o'clock in the afternoon in some little patches of shade.
That is always so satisfying! My biggest fish have come between that 10 and 2 time period as well.

It is crazy how often that throwing out the other way can find fish. You would think it wouldn't take me so long to do that each time out. Lol.
great idea need to try that
I can agree with this totally - fish in my avatar pic was caught middle of the day, blue-bird skies.
And that is a great one!

That's for sure. And there are certain bodies of water I go to that my confidence soars before I even get there. So ready for next spring to get here.
The truth. I'm always so much more confident and willing to make the extra casts on the bluebird calm days.
Just finished a tournament last weekend and what you said made a lot of sense. Thanks.
I hope it went well! We have already had some thin ice here. It melted and hopefully, I will get out yet this week. Not ready for hard water.

It is sure nice to have that confidence! Can’t wait for Spring.
If the fish is under the dock and you catch one out of them, will you then catch another one too?? Or would you only be able to catch one??
