LoL "don't blame the Gaffer"! Reminded me of Eddy Murphy doing 'Mr Rodger's Hood' skit on Saturday Night Live. "Hey little boys and girl the new word for today is b***h, if you need to find out if you are saying it right say it to your mom. Go ahead I'll wait....... Did she slap you? You said it right!" Classic.
    Cheers

I loved this, Gaffer! I pretty much can start practicing this right away! I also loved that you couldn't get it to work in slow-mo demonstrations! It was humorous and made you very relatable!

This is a classic. You need to watch your angles on it though - it looks way better (and more impossible) from the front than it does from the side.

The ring is spinning twice on the chain before it reaches the bottom. That is one of my "carry" tricks that I have with me all the time. It is a sweet little trick, especially for a "walking around trick

There is actually a gaffed version of this where you take a hollow cord and place a neodimium magnet inside it in the center. You then spin the ring on the table and lower the looped cord until the magnet grabs the ring. You then simply handle it to give the illusion that the ring has penetrated the rope. An advantage of this method is that you can instantly free the ring with a tug, giving the illusion that it has penetrated off the rope.

I got a good laugh when you attempted to do it slow so we could see how it attached, but it didn’t attach, lol! It’s definitely a bit weird but it works.

I always found ring-on-chain to be more difficult then ring-on-rope, where you toss the ring through the rope to tie the knot. Since I use ring-on-rope as the first move in a multiphase routine while ring-on-chain is a standalone effect, I'm probably sticking with ring-on-rope.

I have a key ring about the size needed. It worked about 3 times out of 10. I think the ring needs to be heavier.

Without ever trying would probably say no just to rope lack of flexibility
