Actually Marcelito had an unfortunate accident when he was kid when another kid played a prank and kicked him in the testicles. Ever since then he was unable to get rid of his falsetto voice.
Your amazement is not at all surprising. Marcelito Castro Pomoy IS THE REAL DEAL. I had the great privilege of meeting and watching him in concert in June in Toronto. Check out his life story; it is worthy of a movie. Watching him live was like an out of body experience. The videos DO NOT do his voice any justice. Proud to be Filipino. Cheers from Toronto.

Doble kara is underrated. It's very difficult to do and that's why it was mainly used in comedy back before Marcelito does it in PGT. I tried singing duets with both voices only when in practice with my partner but I'm not confident enough to do it on stage like Marcelito.

They used to have contests in the Philippines for singers like this. Its called doble kara.
