This is an excellent video and an excellent approach. Teaching words as co-occuring groups is a very efficient way of teaching and learning. I have been wanting to learn Arabic for 51 years, but was always too busy. You are providing a wonderful way to start things off.
I'm seriously bloody impressed. This might be the most elegant introductory lesson to any language I've ever seen. I spent three hours taking notes. 30 min video, three hours worth of study. Impressive. Vocabulary Pronouns Verb conjugation Present continuous Simple present Pronunciation Franco Interrogative voice Killer lesson 👌
This content is fantastic. I love having both the Franco alphabet and Arabic alphabet on the screen. This helps be a lot, as I'm currently just starting to learn the Arabic alphabet. I'm familiar with most of these words, so it was great review and I was able to focus on the Arabic spellings. Thank you
I'm trying to learn Eygptian arabic and was surprised that I'm able to remember most of the arabic alphabets I learnt many decades ago. I like how slow and repetitive you are and keeping the video short, making it a lot easier to remember. Shukran🙏
Great explanation!! But I hope you put more examples for female as well since "انتي" may change the conjugation of any verbs as well. But really, overall, it's very clear
Ich bin begeistert und mir sicher, dass diese Videos mir sehr helfen werden, mich mit der ägyptischen Sprache anzufreunden. Als nicht nativ Englisch sprechend kann ich dir gut folgen! Danke für die exzellente Unterrichtung. Bitte mach weiter so!
female: you/enty you have/ enty 3andek you write (male): enta btktb you write (female): enty btktb(y) another verb you do (male) : enta bt3ml you do (enty) bt3ml(y)
Been wanting to learn Arabic for years same as a lot of other people in the comments. As a speaker of only English and only have english speakers in the fsmily i was finding it quite hard. Some of the words how you have to say them are so different, this has made it so easy
Thank you for this! It is so very useful for me. I’m a beginner and I needed the verbs explained exactly this way. It was perfect in helping me finally get it.
First, you teach very well- some of the others do + to long of sentences and I get lost. Plus you have a nice voice which helps to retain what I learn,😊
I know a little Arabic but you lost me at flute and fridge, I've never had to use those words :') I'm flying out to Egypt today I used to live there I wanted to brush up
@7:34 I've noticed a bit of misplacement between two sentences. I just figured to let you know in case you don't know already. Great informative video. It is helping me a lot with my Arabic learning.
Even though I knew all the words I learned new grammar. I found this very useful. I am a US expat living in Egypt but my husband did all the talking and didn't want to teach me. I learned most of what I know on my own. I am now alone and have to learn the language better.
It is an informal way to express the difficult to pronounce letters (the letters that doesn't have an equivalent in english) when someone doesn't use the arabic keyboard for any reason, this system is know as "Chat alphabet". The numbers are similar in shape to letters. Example : 7= ح 3= ع 4=ذ and so on
Amazing video! Just to check, I just came from Tunisia where Leben is buttermilk and Halib is milk. Does this difference exist in Egypt? Or should I order coffee with milk as: A tini kahua bil leben? Thank you!
"Sugar cane" in American English. As Mahmoud says, it's popular wherever you go in Cairo. Rendering cane juice requires a crazy industrial juicing machine, so it might not be widely available outside Egypt. I don't see it here in NYC. By the way, Mahmoud, your videos are just superb: methodical, clear, efficient -- perfect for the youtube modality. I am so grateful. Congratulations on creating this channel and shokran for your work.
We say eating soup in English our soup has meat vegetables that has to be chewed but even if it is all liquid we hardly ever hear a person interchangeably using eating and drinking when it comes to soup, I guess it's understood. The only problem I have with Egyptian Arabic if someone is using a word that begins with qaf you all change it to Alif and the word is different from what you learned in Fushaa, so I assume the only way to know the words is to familiarize the way you say words. Can you do a lesson on words that begins with Qaf or has a qaf in the word so we can hear you pronounce it and use it in a sentence. I had more trouble understanding Egyptian Arabic than I thought because we were not told these nuances in learning fushaa.
ana haziena Im german woman. I start to learn egypt arabic. I look so many videos. You tell only about ana and enta... For you not important to tell about the grammer of maskulin and feminin??? Egypt is mancountry... With ENTI the video would be wow.

I would prefer to learn basic polite conversation words, like good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night first. Not "I have a house"

Only Egyptian Arabic I know is:
Yama El Amar Al bab... And Nar ya habibi Nar..
to ask if they have pain, i always ask my arab patiënts; '3andik alam?' i just found out i've been saying 'do you have a pen?' 🙃
No Anna, you are saying it right, it mean Booth of them, 3andak Alam fe El (stomach - legs - hands ..

Understanding Egyptian doesn’t mean you’ll understand standard arabic , because they’re completely different
