The middle notch of the shifter ring shows always to the surface of the hub with the one notch side. In fact it wouldn't fit there is a small point fitted inside the surface of the hub. Mike please have a speacial look at the splines of the hub and mainshaft at their 5th and reverse gear. They have a tendency to become shark teethed. The dog teeth of the reverse gear are almost badly damaged. I prefer a stand which is able to fasten and turn the whole unit as a part 180°. And I use the selfmade tool to block the 5th of the layshaft to get the needed 340Nm forced to the nut.
Fabulous information Mike, lot's of bits isn't there? Easy to become confused, this is where an nice instructional video really makes a difference. Great work!
Just watched this as getting issues woth first and second, i not sure if its to do with my sexond gear being worn synchro wise ( or at least now it is) or if my first is doing something off, if im trying to pull away somewhat jard and try to go first to second, first gear, it feels like slmethings tranna hold it in, then ends up grinding second, if im driving gentle it seems fine. And i do struggle to sometimes get first
