Diolch yn fawr Jason. Lost my Welsh dad 2yrs ago, and love and miss the Welsh accent that was always in our house. Have been learning Welsh for years on my own and love your videos, they help a great deal. 11 out of 11 for me there, so learning has paid off.
Diolch yn fawr. Very pleased with myself, I answered all 11 questions correctly. I have recently started to learn Welsh as I left Wales in 1966, but these were words/ phases that I learnt in primary school and still remember. Da iawn.😊
Sutmae Jason Shepherd. I did the quiz on Thursday ( DDYD IAU) , 29th July 2021. I only get 6 out of 11 correct. Yes I will learn Welsh from your channel. Diolch!
Awesome thank you! I love to hear you talking with that lovely South Wales accent I grew up with in the 40's and 50's. I got all 11, but that's only because we learned those words in school yng Nghaerdydd. Living abroad now for over 60 yrs, I'm trying to recover some of my own country's language :) (I was never fluent) Glad I found your channel, now I'm heading to Patreon to support you!!
10/11 the only one I got wrong was the last question. I have been watching while knitting as we get ready for our holiday in 2 weeks. I am using duo lingo too.
its been about half a year or so since i last studied welsh and this was a fun dip of the toe back into it - 9/11, not terrible! I mix up sut - how and pwy - who all the time. Totally forgot which animal mochyn was!
I'm new to welsh, but i've been studying a few weeks and encountered all the words in duolingo, except for "saesneg" - BUT - i knew that one because in outlander, jamie calls claire "sassenach" in scots.💕
Its strange that in my south wales school (bearing in mind I'm 35 now so things may have changed ) we were taught the north wales dialect. Now I have started using say something in welsh it really frustrated me to have to learn another way to say sut 😂 I feel more comfortable using Sut (Sit) rather than sut (shwd) they also didnt teach us the formal vs informal. We were only taught the informal so it's kind of like learning from scratch again.
10/11 who and how are English words i always struggled with so got a bit confused, if I was asked I could answer but 🤷♂️ I grew up between Newtown and Welshpool but haven't, used welsh much since I moved to an English school in year 9 almost 6 years ago. I still have certain phrases I say or speak in Welsh more naturally than in English though (especially if I'm tired). Diolch yn fawr iawn
@@LearnWelshPodcast I'm going with it being a mix of of South, Mid and Northern dialects. Even my Welsh coworker can barely get through my daily practice courses.
SEE YAI AYE The duolingo voice is computer generated and can’t pronounce certain sounds that are in the Welsh language. I think they should use the voices of actual Welsh speakers.
@@LearnWelshPodcast Agreed, can't really complain about a free language learning app but I'm probably gonna abandon it and use yours and the Say Something In Welsh podcasts. Seems way more productive.
Diolch yn fawr o hyn! Rydw i ddim yn gwybod y gaer o esgusodwch yn Cymraeg - ond - dw i'n gwybod nawr! Hefyd, Beth ydy'n "gwelwch" yn saesneg? Os = If, yn dda = In good [?] - felly - beth mae'n gwelwch? - dydw i ddim yn gwybod! Ta diolch! Cariad fawr o Gastell-nedd x

Well done!
I got all right - but number 11 was a complete guess!

9 out of 11 is great. I still mix up words sometimes, so don’t be concerned about that. It’s normal.
Yeah, 88 days of learning Welsh on Duolingo. 11 out of 11. For 3 questions I deducted the answer as I haven’t learned the words yet. 🎉
9 out of 11, quite impressed as I have only been learning for a couple of weeks. Diolch yn fawr

7/11 and been learning Welsh for a week, so I'll take that😁

11/11...but I live with a Welsh speaker so that helps.
We in Scotland say Englander as Sassenach like saesnag, and a Scots word it's mauchin,it's grubby like a pig,8 out of 11
I got 100%!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Diolch yn fawr
The Duolingo voice has way more twang for Sut. TYVM
Duolingo also makes you say "sut dych chi" for "How are you" it's not the best way to learn Welsh.
Some of the Duolingo pronunciations are a bit strange.

11/11! Thanks for that. Enjoyed it x
I got 11.
Got 10/11......my Nain taught me a song about how nice a piece of pig would be.
11/11
I got 9!
I got 10 out of 11. Number 8 was my downfall but I should have got it knowing that 'fi' was 'me'.
Missed the last one. Newydd.
Just got 9. Not bad, I used to live in Swansea for a bit. so some words I immediately recognised but some I had no idea! 😂🏴 Good fun!
Got 7/11, still got room for improvement.
Diolch Jason. 11/11. Pryd gwnest ti gweithio mewn "The Chase" ? 😆 Pob hwyl !
Oedd Bradley Walsh yn sal felly cyflwynais i y sioe. 😂😂😂
@@LearnWelshPodcast 🤣🤣🤣 doniol iawn !
Hello
10/11! Quite surprised with that, honestly! Using context clues helped, could not remember the animal for the life of me
I think "silly pig, mock him"
Good quiz enjoyed, I had eleven.
👍
10/11! Tidy!
Da iawn!/Very good score!
Diolch th fawr
9/11
Great quiz! I got 9/11, so pretty good. PS: if possible, next time, could you say the numbers in Welsh?
10/11 iechyd da! Dw I'n mwynhau hyn. Diolch
👍
Diolch uncle Jason
ah only 9/11, 7 & 8 wrong (Please, I always get wrong far too many words in Welsh? I wonder what they actually say?)

So give this a try ... gwelwch, probably soft mutation of welwch
Probably wel + wch (imperative of you), so "If it is well with you in good"
