Thing is the main reason I want to join is for the experience. I wanna train like a soldier, travel etc. and I know if I don't join some branch of the military I will regret it if I live later on in life.

That is true, the experience and knowledge that one learns in the military is priceless, it is something that will serve us in the future and you only live once so you have to take the opportunity now or never.
If you’re a junior in high school and you want to join the Guard, it would be best to do a 6 year contract so that if you graduate college on time you will also discharge from the guard at about the same time. It will really help for getting on your feet and getting a career fresh out of college.
Is it waist to switch branches? Like if I did this and went to college but wanted to join the Navy as an officer would I be able to do that?
I joined legit while still in HS back in 09.. I had always wanted to be in the military either marines or army since I could remember .. My number one mistake was going active duty.. I quit in the 6th week of BCT.. cause I KNEW deep within myself that I wasnt going to be happy basicly being owned by the government .. now that I’m 29 was looking back at my packet and was like damn I legit signed 8 WHOLE fuckin years of my life not realizing this wasn’t going to be for me . 4 years regular and 4 reserve ... Recruiters legit take advantage of us not even knowing how the army works .. etc .. I think the age should raise to 21 at leeeeast.. also recruiters shouldn’t be allowed in High schools they be low key lurking at these high school girls .. trust and believe . I’m low key .. NO .. I’m so happy I quit cause I had rather quit then be miserable for 8 whole years of my life . Cause your right Army ain’t for everybody
Being the army really does have problems in how they operate but I feel like people it's mostly the people in these positions that fuck you over.

By the way, what do you mean about "strange" people in the military? And what did you mean about the weird shit that happens in the US military, and not in foreign armies?

questions i always wanted to join military since little idc if is marines or navy especially the army. I wanna be active duty infantry or special operations yet i wanna go to collage to be a cop in your opinion is it possible cuz i been to navy army marines recruiters in ny and nj but i notice when ever i ask this questions they always like skip it they put it aside and bring something else up
special operations require a high ASVAB score. Only the brightest can join. They won't answer your question because you haven't probably taken the ASVAB test. There's also certain personality and physical traits that they're looking for which is 100% systematically correct when selecting people for special operations. If you're asking to go to any kind of special operations, you're probably what not they're not looking for. Only 1% passes SF or NS selection. They don't want to hurt your feelings. Anyways, if you want to be a cop, go to college first. Join the reserves or National guard, take an ROTC course, become an officer in the Army, then you can apply to become special operations once you get that out of the way and you'll get your degree. Once you've gotten your degree, go apply to your local police department, and if you pass your police exam, they will send you to police academy. After that, all of your goals will be knocked out the way.

You can take the asvab at your school and you could talk to your counselor about that but you can also take it when you finish high school. The important thing here is that you must take the asvab to enter any military branch, this includes the Army of course.

If I was you i would do the Guard because 1. You’ll be one year ahead of everyone else (maybe 2 if you were in jrotc in high school) 2. You’ll be betting payed whole in high school and all you go to do is go to drills and most importantly 3. You can still join the Air Force if you want to afterwards or you could do college while in the guard and go to AFROTC in college and commission and a Air Force officer afterwards or just do college and try to get into OCS later on
