This was fun! Straightforward, and easy to modify. This pattern is so versatile, you can make it however you want it. All you need to know is that you need an even number of bead stitches and then your hdc will be beads x 2 + 2. For example, chain 34 ---> then 16 front/back posts for ribbing --->34 hdc ---> 16 bead stitches. Then you can make the panels and sleeves as long/short/narrow/wide as you want, and it doesn't matter what kind of yarn you use. I used a superwash bulky yarn, so it's warmer and heavier, and has a beautiful drape. The one I made is more of a fall/winter cardigan, but I like the pattern so much that I'm going to do it again in a lighter yarn for spring and summer. I love how Carrie's sweater turned out, but I LOVE how you can easily make this pattern your own! Thanks Carrie!
I am a new learner, I was scrolling through tutorials on how to crochet a cardigan " I love a challenge " when I heard you're Irish accent 🇮🇪 I had to try this as im Irish. Im getting there. Thank you. ❤❤
A friend commissioned me to make two of your cardigans. I am assembling the pieces of this one now. I haven't felt comfortable making cardigans or sweaters before because I am not experienced at sewing. That said, your patterns make it so much easier. You've inspired me to design my own pattern, now that I understand how to make the pieces and put them together. Thank you Carrie!
Absolutely adore this tutorial. I’m new to crocheting and the way you’ve explained everything is wonderful. Thank you! You’ve definitely turned me into a die hard fan. I look forward to any and all of your future videos.
Thank you this is beautiful and easy. Please excuse me marking time! 4:18 end of 5 lows 11:00 sleeve 13:23 sleeve 15:00 increase
You make the best tutorials ever and with the written pattern on your blog in addition really nothing could go wrong, love how my cardigan came out, thank you so much❤️😍
Beautiful! I loved! The best thing is that I didn't have to read the subtitles for two reasons: 1) You speak very clearly and 2) You use your camera very well, congratulations. Greetings from Mexico.
Mine is going to be a sapphire blue I’m ready.
This cardigan is absolutely adorable. The measurements are correct and your video makes it easy and friendly to follow the instructions.Thank you so much. I made it in light yellow and love it❤️
I made my first one about 2 years ago. It was so popular that I now made several for friends and family. I'm making the 10th one now. Thanks for a beautiful pattern and tutorial.
😮👏🏼👏🏼have you done in XL or M and wanting to tell how many stiches it takes?
Thank you Carrie I have been looking for a cardigan like that for a long time and you’re Tutorial is great

Oh my … all your cardigans are so beautiful, never made any as I’m always so afraid they won’t look good but I think I’m going to try this one. Thank you for teaching us . Stay safe and happy holidays 🇨🇦
Thank you Carrie so much for this tutorial I have 3 more rows to go then I am all done. I made this for my sister. I love it🙂🙂
New subscriber here. Thank you for a tutorial for a bigger size, they’re always a small so this is great! Easy to follow and clear instructions.
I’m wearing this today in dark chocolate brown and I love it Thanks Carrie ❤
The easiest one I have seen so far. Surely going to try this winters...and will be my first crochet garment...
Hi Carrie I love this pattern I have crocheted 2 so far doing one for myself thanks for showing how to make it sandra 🥰
Hi Carrie, thanks for the gorgeous pattern & easy to follow video. I did this for my daughter ( working from home) in a pure wool Aran . She wanted a warm slouchy cardigan &she loves it. I call it my “geimhreadh” cardigan . I’m now starting another for daughter no. 2 . Thanks again.
Thank you for this pattern and your very clear tutorial. This was my first project that’s not a blanket and I am very pleased with the result. Can’t believe how easy it was!
See that your done crocheting the cardigan and is the back panel long enough I feel like mine is short
@@emmam2462 Yes, it’s a bit short (and I’m only 5’2”!). I’ve given it to my daughter-in-law who’s shorter than me and am going to make another one for myself - probably two patterns longer (15 not 13). Will need 600g not 500g of wool as I made pockets too. The sleeves were fine though.
@@disteln thank you
hi! do you mind telling me how did you attached the sleeves? in the video it seems it's the other way around, i'm a bit confused lol i'll appreciate your help
@@v4leree hi, I have lots of knitting experience so just attached as I would for those garments with a darning needle. Sew sleeve seam and side seam from rid to gap for sleeve. Insert sleeve and sew round. I always turn it inside out for sewing. Remember to make sure your sleeve seam is facing down.
Thank you Carrie. I love your tutorials. I’ve made this recently and my daughter loved it!
Love this took me 5 hours just to do the bottom 5 rows for the back panel yahhooo now on to the pattern
Having fun making my first sweater !! Easy to follow instructions. Ty
I found you by accident, pulled up in my feed. Love your patterns!
Very nice. I have made a few cardigans based on the measurements you provided. They came out nice. Thank you.
I made this with Caron Latte cakes it's so pretty and super cozy soft. Love this pattern thanks for sharing.
hi, do you mind telling me how did you attached the sleeves? in the video it seems it's the other way around, i'm a bit confused lol i'll appreciate your help
@@v4leree I didn't watch the video I followed her written pattern on her blog. What I did was match up the right sides of both peices layed out flat then sewed them together. I hope that helps.
@@pennyburnworth1401 yes, thank you very much!!
This is third cardigan I'm making from your patterns.easy to follow. This one I m doing lrg. Size I'm plus size gal but always too big even if gauge hook down a size or two. Trying on as go this might work.
I want large cardigan so I am sticking with the L/XL but will measure what the first row does for me. I am the same. I am size UK 16 and other sweaters from Carrie that I have made, I have gone down a size. I think I must be a loose hooker! LOL x
Hi Carrie I think this cardigan is lovely I keep looking back at it I will make it when I finish a couple of things I am working on Thanks for sharing

Just finished making mine! 😁 I love it
Love it. Thx for sharing. Started new project. I wanted something unusual as a patern. Fingers cross. ❤
it;s so beautiful! I started making it but I changed this bubble stich to 5 dc into a chain from previous row instead of around a DC
Muchas gracias. Es excelente tu forma de enseñar y has tejido un cardigan hermoso y fácil de realizar. Te envío un gran saludo desde Mendoza, Argentina.
Beautiful can’t wait to make this!!!
I love this pattern ❣ Putting this on my to do list! Thank you for sharing this ❣🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤
This looks lovely. I'm going to make it for my next project. Your accent and voice is so soothing and easy to listen to, it made everything clear and easy to follow your instructions. I'm in Australia so I think 8 ply yarn is the equivalent of the yarn you used.
Her Irish accent 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Lovely pattern. Going to try .
I made this one, it's really easy and quick to make... I will chrochet another one, just in smaller size. It was great project
How much time did it take yoy to complete it? Just wanted to know so that I can adjust it with my college schedule 😅
I tried making this have to start over cause is not right, is there a way you can tell how many stitches you should have at end of each row
Theres a pattern on etsy called The haven cardi, cactus and lotus design bout £4.95 for pattern. Im finding it vert easy to follow. Just comming here to check the puff stitch as ive done 1 extra after the actual puff stitch to secure but Ive ended up with double so I think im gonna have to do that row again!! Aaarggh.. ah the joys, You live and learn xx
Wow.. just learned the bead stitch! In my pattern its a 'puff'stitch.. made but just yo. X 4
So neat.. ❤
Hi carrie you are an amazing teacher I have
made your cardigan it is
Lovely have you got a tutorial making a cardigan with a waffle stitch please I would be so greatful
That's so beautiful and such a pretty colour. Thanks for a great tutorial x 💕
I'm so excited to try this pattern and I have the perfect yarn for it
However, I was wondering... I really want to do color blocking with it, a darker shade on the bottom half. Do you have any suggestions on what row to maybe switch the color, so that the sleeves match up?
Beautiful!!! another one to add to the list...
Can you use worsted weight size 4
What stitch did u use to stitch the shoulders and sleeves to the sweater?
The color choice is amazing and it looks very pretty
Can you please make a tutorial for crochet granny square vest? Thank you so much
This is such a beautiful cardigan, and your videos are so clear, you're a delight to listen to. I was wondering would you be able to tell me which size cardigan the model is wearing in the photos at the beginning? Thank you for sharing and you have a new subscriber :)
Hii, the cardigan is absolutely gorgeous, but I was wondering if I could chain 86 for S-M and do the rest same as the pattern? I usually wear S-M, but I used 5mm hook and when I measured the width it was 18 inches rather than 24. Hope you answer🌸
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Definitely gonna do this one omg it’s so pretty
Thank you so much xx
Hello Carrie
Thank you for sharing! It's absolutely lovely.
One quick question tho
Since there are 50 stitches on the sleeve, should I make the 25th or the 26th as the "middle" to match onto the shoulder seam please?
Thank you in advance!
What a pretty stitch! Is is a yarn eater?
Good day. Thank you so much for the pattern. I enjoy watching your videos. I've got a question, can I just add rows to make it longer?
Thank you.
Im a beginner crocheter. I was curious how exactly you connect the sleeves? I know u said to sow them together is there a specific way thats best?
Also mine did not come out so oversized and loose, could that be my stitching is 2 tight?
I hope this comments gets to somone who can give me a little advice. Thank you 😊
I really like this cardigan but am wondering if I have to adjust or change anything if I want to use a bulky 5 weight so it is warmer for winter.
Oh my goodness this is just awesome thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. Gonna get some yarn and make this.
Thank you so much xx
Lovely clear video gonna give this a go !
What seaming method do you use to attach your pieces together? Whip? Mattress?
Hello! I love this design! It's so cute and pretty! Can u please tell me what method did u use to sew the pieces together? I and trying to make this cardigan but have no idea how to sew all the pieces>
Hi. Love the pattern. I just wish you would say how many chains do we have in each row. I looked at your pattern and it doesn’t say. That would help a lot. Thank you
I much prefer ribs made this way as they look so much neater and smarter
Lo amo!!! El video es tan claro q aunque no hable ingles entiendo perfectamente. Gracias!! 😘
Hi lovely xxx I just started to crochet this cardigan....I love it xxx thanks 💗🧶
Hi Carrie: Does this cardigan have pockets, if not can you use the methods from your other cardigans to put pockets on it. This is a beautiful cardigan from what I can see.
Beautiful, I got to make this. ❤
I'd like to know if you can help me. I fell in love with King Cole Shine. It's a black and gray yarn with silver tinsel I guess you call it. I originally wanted to make a cardigan but the more I crochet with it the more I don't like it. Can you tell me if a cardigan or shawl will look ok with this metallic sparkly type yarn? I bought 12 skeins of it and still like it but I don't want to waste my time if a cardigan will look like a horrible. Please let me know your thoughts.
Oh wow, I do believe I can do this and make it to fit me! Thank you for posting this. :-)
I'm quite new to crochet and this looks perfect to challenge myself! I just wanted to check, how big is this in the end? I'd love to make one for my grandmother but she's a UK size 14 and is around 4"9 so don't want to drown her haha! Can anyone suggest any alterations I could make in stitch counts to suit her please? I'd really appreciate it!
Can you do short sleeves on this cardi?
Thank you for this Amazing tutorial 😍😍🙏🏻
Gorgeous color Thank you
LOVE LOVE LOVE.
I love it 😊
Thank you so much it so easy for beginner, i gonna make one!
Working on this right now, I’m following her instructions for a M. After chaining 74 and then DC into the fourth chain. I’ll have 70 double crochets in the row totall right? So for the large size she’s doing you’ll have 86-4 = 82 total DC in total right ? Correct me if I’m wrong somehow my stitch count is all over the place please help!
Can anyone help.... I feel like I've dropped a stitch somewhere, but I can't figure out where. On the HDC rows are we putting a stitch on top of the chain?
If the back portion isn't long enough after the amount of rows shall I just keep going until I feel its long enough?
Another fabulous design and great video. I am just about to start this cardigan and I KNOW it will be another favourite item of clothing that your videos have helped me create. Go raibh maith agat xxx
This cardigan has turned out FABULOUSLY!!! I have also lengthened my sleeves - a few more increases. I LIVE in this cardigan - so pretty over boho dresses... also over my vest tops and old leather jeans! Will HAVE to make another one. Thank you again, Carrie x
Me encanta tu trabajo 👏👏🤩🤩 gracias por compartir 🤗🤗🧶🧶!!
Love this
Amazing project , your channel content is amazing too , how can i go for medium size , i couldnt find my way in the blog 😔
Do we have to use a stretchy yarn? I have a velvety yarn and isn’t stretchy and dianteres about 0,5 mm. Can use the yarn and do I ave to use bigger hook for L-XL size? Thanks!
Can i
make with aran wool.?
Super ce pull et encore mieux avec les sous titres en francais👍👍😉
Thank you for the tutorial and I made a cardigan, it is really lovely.. :))
Im confused by the bust and actual bust in the pattern. Does this include the ladies?? I’m 48” with and 40” without. Do I need L/Xl or 2xl/ 3xl???
Is there a pattern for this cardigan? I got a different kind of yarn and need the measurements or a pattern of the cardigan so I can make a gauge swatch.
Thank you
Hey Carrie !
Thx your instructions are so easy to follow!:)) would the sweater look ok done in a self striping yarn? I’m using Caron cotton cakes in the color rose whisper.
TIA☺️
Can we use 4 ply wool for it. What amount of wool is needed
What size cardigan are you making in the video ?
Large
Beautiful!!
