I got to see them here in Victoria, BC in the 80's in a club. My brother in law was a bouncer, so I got to meet them and get their autographs. It was an amazing show.
I decided to learn how to play guitar and have an awesome instructor, didn't realize he is one of the guitarits in this band. Ray always amazes me when he plays during a lesson.
I was treated to Kick Axe opening for Judas Priest in Denver, CO 1984 and became a fast fan. I still have them in my daily playlist. I most remember the voice and 'Heavy Metal Shuffle'
Don't forget Welcome to the Club, Rock the World, and their killer cover of Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. Kick-Axe should have been huge. I think they tried changing their name for a hot minute. Don't think that worked either though. Great vocals indeed. The whole band killed.

Awesome! They were my first concert in Charlotte NC June 27, 1984. I was a Top 40 kinda girl, until my drummer boyfriend took me to that concert. lol They were AWESOME and while both bands were great, I enjoyed Kick Axe a little more. ;)
One of the great songs of the genre. Kick axe, killer dwarfs, coney hatch.... great Canadian heavy metal... triumph too.... and of course, the greatest band in the universe, rush.

They opened for everyone .. they would hang out by their merch table or just in the hallways after their set when other bands were playing ...after the 2nd time I walked up to them to talk they actually remembered my name ..they told me they remembered me cause i had to be the only elementary school fan they had ...seriously cool af guys..... they always put on a great show ..

Fun fact, I believe this is the same band that picked up my friend and I when hitchhiking in Sacramento. This would have been 1984'ish? We were kinda wild back then, lol.
As a fan of Savatage I disagree with opening of this video, other than that much respect to Kick Axe been listening to them since the mid '80's!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I can't help but feel let down by Hasbro... I would've been into this band 35 years ago if I had of known their Real Name... I'm a HUGE Spectre General fan!!
I think the real reasoning why they changed the name was because Kick Axe off the tongue kinda sounds like "kick ass," and because it was a PG movie, they asked the name to be changed. In my opinion, I think the record label should've re-released all the albums under Spectre General immediately after the release of the Transformers movie. Maybe these guys would've went gold.
As a young Aussie fella in the 80s I was really into this type of music, and in my circle this band, and especially the vices album was well known. Outside of my circle this band were unknowns. No radio would have touched them I’m afraid.
I was born 87 but I found this band on a soundtrack compilation, grew up with great heavy metal in Germany but I've got to say, this feels better than anything I've heard in the genre
Gotta love rebellious 80s rock videos, Twisted Sister comes to mind too. Retrospectively, in past the over-conservative characters were a bad guys, nowadays it's a left wing domain...
The Eighties were such a great time for hard rock and metal. 👍
It was a glorious time being a teenager then.
This has been forgotten through the years. I just now discovered it in 2024.

Simply the greatest time in my life. Rock music in the 80s was absolutely amazing. The solo in this song is awesome.
Proudly from Regina, Saskatchewan…. The land of living skies, in 🇨🇦
That slide across the table.... frickin' priceless!!! I MISS THE 80's.... Damn!
My older friends introduced me to this band along with Black n blue, Kix, and Cinderella in one night! What a time to be alive!
I wish Kick Axe or Van Halen or Steele Panther would have burst into one of my classes at school. Thanks for posting!
