  • Back in 2006 I was really into flying, and on my cross country outings I would always look down at my Speedy to time when I had to switch tanks or when my waypoint was coming up. Or how long I had been flying. Yeah I know, why look at my watch when I have the G1000 in front of me. I guess I'm old school... And I looked at it as part of my check list.
Unfortunately, getting older wasn't helping much with my eyes so I decided to look for a bigger (easier to read watch).
You see, now-a-days you can throw a propeller and hit a Fleiger watch, but back in the early 2000's there weren't that many companies making large Fleigers. One I found was Azimuth, and with them I started a new hobby…
I designed the dial based on an original example I had and Azimuth provided the rest. A few months later I had 50 Navigator (B-Uhr) watches and a great back up timer for flying. Anyway I though you guys might enjoy the origin story of the future Blanchard Watch Co.
A few specs on the watch we built:
    48mm case built by Azimuth
    Using the ETA 2801-2
    25.5 mm movement size
    Manual wind.
    Enjoy!
