I agree. Howard Miller should really step out of their comfort zone when it comes to chime melodies. Maybe even reintroduce other lesser known chimes too.
@@Corgipon yeah I agree but Howard miller probably won’t because of them being afraid of a angry customer that they found a clock that they like but then them not liking the chimes
Most grandfather clock movements that have the Winchester chime are usually an Urgos triple chime movement and the Sligh clock cases make the chimes sound louder than on a quiet Howard Miller clock case. I hope to find a grandfather clock like this one somewhere. But these types of clocks are not that easy to find.
Yes I still I have it. I definitely got a good deal on it. Thanks to my friend for taking me to pick it up. If it hadn’t been for him I wouldn’t have the clock today.
Yes it was I’m so glad I didn’t pass up on it. The wood was quite rough at that bottom when I got it. My friend told me it was like that because it had been sitting in the garage for so long. I used old English wood cleaner to make it look better.
@@brianeifert4667it would but unfortunately it gets complicated making the chime barrels to do this :( I’m sure you could probably 3D print a chime barrel to play all 4 though the chime selector lever wouldn’t fit well and would likely have to be replaced with a longer one the dial would have to be modified too
Hi Brian, lovely clock. I have similar, same vintage, style 903WM-532, movement 112AL. Being told the movement needs replacing. May I ask the style of your clock, and make / model of your movement? Thx!
Do the hammers have leather or nylon? I have the same movement and chimes in my ridgeway but it has nylon just wondering what leather tips would sound lile.

The deep chime is everything.
You're very lucky to find a very rare clock like this one! The Winchester chime is very soothing!
A really good sounding chime! also looks fabulous!
That sounds so beautiful
That Trend by Sligh Grandfather clock plays Winchester, Whittington, and Westminter.
The three W’s
I sincerely hope that modern clocks have Winchester!
Yeah that would be nice but I’ve not seen any newer ones that have Winchester.

@@Corgiponwell they use mostly boring Kieninger and Hermle movements that just okay the regular 3 chime
I like the Winchester chimes!
Me too! When I bought it I wasn’t expecting it to have Winchester chimes. I just figured it would have St. Michael’s along with the other two chimes.
@@brianeifert4667 It’s also nice to hear the chimes resonate. You dont get that very often with newer clocks.

That's fantastic!
It’s ashamed that no clock has 4 chimes. Westminster, Whittington, St. Michael, and Winchester altogether in one clock.
I know that would be awesome!!
I’ve seen antique tubular bell clocks with more than 3 chimes but I doubt modern mechanical ones would get to that level nowadays.
I agree having a clock that plays Westminster, Whittington, Winchester and St Michaels together would be awesome and incredible

I’m not exactly sure of the make and model of this clock. All I know is it has an Urgos movement and was made sometime in the 1980s.

Its from 1986
Thanks for the information! I just assumed 1980 or 1981 since the owners manual had those years. I also got a sales receipt that was dated 1985.
