Thanks for your posting your review. I agree in regards to your comments regarding the relative weakness of the regenerative braking on the car, but then again I suspect that it has to do with the design of the e-motor/generator battery system. There is only so much energy that can be recovered with a single electric motor been used to drive the front wheels, perhaps a system as used on the NC1 NSX where there were separate motors per front wheel would be more apt at been able to slow down the vehicle better as well as allow for motor driven torque vectoring instead of the brake based torque vectoring that is on the car. Just like you I was very impressed after a test drive of the 11th generation Civic e-HEV that I ended up purchasing a dealer demo with only 3000km for quite a bit less than purchasing a brand new car even with the 5 year extended warranty. Have owned multiple BMW's as well as Porsche's back in the US and I can only have a single car in Japan so the Civic e-HEV filled the bill considering the that the FL5 Civic Type R was sold out. The car is really well sorted out for what it is, it rode so much better than my R35 GT-R back in the US. And given the speed limits in Japan, it is more than capable for reasonable driving on public roads. The car been a hatchback is such a plus as well since I can put tons of crap in the hatch, useful for trips to iKEA.

Thank you for your comment.
I'm glad to have friends who love the Civic. Let's enjoy life with the Civic!
