My quilting friend one day said she quilts by the 15-45 method. She explained, “I set the timer for 45 minutes of sewing, then when it goes off I do 15 minutes of housework)emptying dishwasher, folding laundry, etc). Then I feel good because by the end of the day I get a lot of sewing done and some housework done too!”❤

I think I’m going to try the timer! I’ve been struggling to finish up the quilting on a queen size quilt using my domestic machine! Have to get it done by the end of the month because my husband is having shoulder replacement surgery on Dec 2 and I know I will be busy helping him with his recovery and taking care of my 86 year old father who lives with us! I totally understand your method of looking at the finish point to get a straight line. When you do things like Ukrainian Egg decorating you are drawing with hot wax on a curved surface. If you look at the finish point you will always get a straight line!

I do like lists, although I am task oriented, not time oriented. People's minds are funny like that. I tend to get lost until interrupted, usually by bodily wants ... like a cup of tea is required. Black tea for me. Thankyou engineer for your input and corrections. Hugs to all, Chel 🌸

I set a timer for 15 min then if I am still in the zone when it goes off I keep on going. But if I have decided I need to do something else it’s all good because I met my goal of 15 min. Each day I try to do another 15 min and invariably I find that I actually work for an hour (or more) depending on how things are going. If I run into a problem where I need to do another onerous chore like rip out a nest of stitches that appeared in the middle and not at the beginning of a seam I know that I will need to analyze what happened. If I have the focus and energy to do that I will forge ahead. If I don’t I will write a sticky note with details of what happened and stick it to the problem area so that I can address it the next time when my energy and focus can do better problem solving.
