Love the idea of setting a period of time for Wip's and Ufo's... love that I got to catch you!!
My quilting friend one day said she quilts by the 15-45 method. She explained, “I set the timer for 45 minutes of sewing, then when it goes off I do 15 minutes of housework)emptying dishwasher, folding laundry, etc). Then I feel good because by the end of the day I get a lot of sewing done and some housework done too!”❤
@@debbiebraatz1919 I’ve never set a timer, but this is a great idea! It also makes you get up & stretch a bit & even take a break!
I love this idea so much! Honestly I'd probably accomish more doing this than my, I'm to overwhelmed to tackle all that" method 😂
You are inspiring…working on your list makes life good.
I totally understand this method. My energy has been diminishing as I get older. We have to keep going and creating! 😊
Potholders are great! Definitely quilt them!
Quilt pot holders. Love em😊
Making a list is such a Great idea. And then setting a timer for only 20 minutes is super Great. I set mine for 1 hour and I get very board and distracted.
I like the quilted acorn.
I really need to make a WIPs and UFOs list of my own...🤣 But I don't have that much to work on ..😂
I like the quilted acorns best.😍
As always enjoy watching you and reading the Engineer's comments..🥰😍🤩
Good job on the progress! I like the not quilted but both are so pretty! Thanks for the fun watch❤
Thanks for the great tutorial and using a timer. 🎉❤
I love them both. But like the non quilted pot holder more.❤
I LOVE your triangle quilt!!
I think I’m going to try the timer! I’ve been struggling to finish up the quilting on a queen size quilt using my domestic machine! Have to get it done by the end of the month because my husband is having shoulder replacement surgery on Dec 2 and I know I will be busy helping him with his recovery and taking care of my 86 year old father who lives with us! I love all of your videos!❤
Love the pot holders! My vote is to quilt them. Makes the squares stand out. Gives the definition.
Wow, you completed so many items. Great work!😊🧡💛
I think the quilted hot pads hold up better. They also look really cute quilted because of the pattern of the fabric. But the other one, it looks cute too. The timer idea is great
Your grandsons bat quilt is perfect for a young man. The colors are fabulous. You work extremely well with patterns and fabric choices. I like how you give yourself 20 minutes. ❤🎉😊
Love the potholders!!!
Always enjoy your videos and teaching!! Please tell Hazel her blocks are beautiful!
So cute, I like the acorns puffy vs quilted. Hazel table runner is lovely
Love the acorn potholders. I think I'd enjoy the quilted ones the most, but both are very pretty and usable. I think I need to start making daily lists and see if I can keep the squirrels out of my sewing room!
You really accomplished a lot! Love your tutorials! Have fun at the retreat!
I love the acorn pot holders! Beautiful!
The potholders are really cute!!
I just love the Engineers comments! I laugh every time one pops up! ❤
Great effort! Have fun
I love your binding back. Works great!
You are wonderful. Thank you for letting me hang out with you. I've enjoyed your video
I really enjoyed this video . I like to use the same type of list and tick off the " finishes" as I go. And on my current list are two pillow cases so I was so happy for the refresh on how to do them.
Watched replay. You got alot accomplished! I’m going to try your method of using a timer. Your chicken timers are so cute . I think the acorn potholders are nice quilted and un quilted and your poppins bag turned out fantastic. I’m sure it’ll be an item of envy at retreat. Have fun and safe travels. I would be keeping it with me under the seat.
Great job getting all that done. I love them❤❤❤
Retreat time again 💫 well done on all the completed projects 💖
Love The chicky timers. I’m leave the one set of potholders as is-puffy . Thanks for showing how to make the pillow cases. The bat quilt was adorable . Someone will be so grateful for the quilt to keep him warm. Thanks for your laughter and enjoyment when you checked off the each project. You have beautiful handwriting. Blessings 😊
Great podcast….so inspirational….thank you!!!!
Brilliant idea with the timer. I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks❤
Your videos are always entertaining and informative. Thank you so much. I have made the burrito pillowcases. I should make a few more. The leaf table runner is so pretty. Glad you got so much accomplished.
My sister lives in Idaho, a small town out of Moscow, and it was her birthday the 4th. She got snow. Uck. Love the use of the timer, I will need to try that. Also I do quilts for all me 1st cousin's. Something my grandma would have loved to have done for all her grandchildren. (31)Only 4 more to go. Thank you for the tutorial.
Love all the projects and the bag you've created!! Your productivity is admirable!! I got 1 61/2" block done today and that was a lot
Lol😂. I'm the same way! Just let me sleep in my recliner. 😊😊. I just got my cutterpillar light. I love it. Thanks so much. I'm in Syracuse NY. We were very warm today. We set a record. I love the warmth after a chilly snap. I've got so many wips to get done. I'm working on the sashing my Brackman QAL
I'm really hard ot wake up if I fall asleep in my chair so The Engineer leaves me a lot. LOL. Thanks for watching Lynn!
I like the unquilted potholders best - thanks
I enjoyed watching you working through your different WIP and UFO projects. I never thought setting a timer. Think i might try that to finish cleaning up a room and finish setting up my sewing area! Thank you
I love your potholders and your tip on using tweezers is great. Thanks.
Thank you Lynn! I struggled with the first two and thought of this and the struggle was gone.
Thanks for watching!
I totally understand your method of looking at the finish point to get a straight line. When you do things like Ukrainian Egg decorating you are drawing with hot wax on a curved surface. If you look at the finish point you will always get a straight line!
I may try writing th8ngs down, seems like a good system. I do use my timer except I do 30 minutes. Thank you, very motivating.
Love your printed list
Nothing finer than working on quilts in fall especially on election day 😊 something productive and positive, Rock it ❤😅
Yes, I agree, I've got to get to binding two customer quilts. Thanks for watching Deanna!
On the acorn pot holders I would at least quilt along the acorn top near the seam. They are very cute! Nice bag!
I think I fell asleep with you while I watched... you are a powerhouse! My mum is on blockers also, so she is the cold frog, and I am the hot stuff (no laughs from the peanut gallery, please) . I do like lists, although I am task oriented, not time oriented. People's minds are funny like that. I tend to get lost until interrupted, usually by bodily wants ... like a cup of tea is required. Black tea for me. Thankyou engineer for your input and corrections. Hugs to all, Chel 🌸
this was great ..thank you❤
I love a list. It lets me know what I’ve achieved. Your acorn pot holders are really cute. I like the quilted version better. Have a wonderful time at your quilt retreat.
Love the maple leaf table runner.
love the pot holders. I don't like my pot holders to be stiff, so I'm not sure that I would quilt mine. But both look great😊
Your steamy glasses made me laugh!
Quilt the potholders!
Been cold here in the Central Valley too. There have already been chain restrictions on I-80. Wish I could send you some of my heat. I am still sleeping with the window wide open with just one cotton blanket on the bed. The acorn potholders are so cute. I use old wool socks in mine. I think my daughter needs a pair.
I havent tried wool batting, but have a sample that is so soft - I'm longing to try some! I have to finish piecing my bee quilt top first, yes, another wip sitting, waiting for some attention! I had better make a list!🙂
I have trouble seeing black too need a lot of light to do too😀 love your bag
Quilted pot holders please ❤
Di, your lists look like mine. Every time I can check off something I feel a little bit lighter. Sometimes, for a variety of reasons, a project gets set aside, so I put the next step on my updated list, even if it’s squaring up the HSTs or snipping the dog ears.
Ah, the sound of satisfaction. lol 😂
Love the style of your bag, would be tell me where the pattern can be found? Thanks for sharing your method for getting things done. 👍❤️😊
Do you have advice for sewing cotton to silk sashing (wedding gown remnants 😉)?
Acorns are darling! I think you should quilt them
Quilt pot holder
Quilt the potholders.
Love the black & white batik fabric. Can you tell me where I can purchase it
OMG Your bag is fabulous and so nice and large. Do you have a pattern link to purchase it? Thank you
You are very inspiring! I like the quilted pot holders. Do you double layer the batting, or do you use a special type of batting?
Good morning Di,
I did watch the acorn potholder video, which was great. I like how you showed us how to read colors on your Gobble Gobble quilt( which is adorable).
I could not find the link to the acorn template and pattern instructions, is there a separate link I need to copy and paste or click on in bedded in the transcript? Thank you and if I missed the link I apologize. 😆🥰
I’ve been throughly enjoying all the black. I have trouble with black and navy. I’m not a fan of white.
would love the name and where i can locate the poppins bag. so cute!!
I Scotch Guard my bags because they inevitably end up on a floor or a dirty surface at some point.
The 20 minutes would be dangerous in my craft room. I’d make a bigger mess lol
Where did you get that fantastic black and white fabric.,? Who is the manufacturer?
My quilt club calls the, a wiener dog method for a pillow case.
That is funny, but then wiener dogs are funny little pups! Thanks for watching!
You are an inspiration! So much accomplished! I need a dose of your energy! Thanks, Di!!
What is the name of your sewing table. I was wanting to check on buying one. Thank you
It’s a Flexispot, they are wonderful ❣️
What pattern did you use for your bag? TIA!!!
I set a timer for 15 min then if I am still in the zone when it goes off I keep on going. But if I have decided I need to do something else it’s all good because I met my goal of 15 min. Each day I try to do another 15 min and invariably I find that I actually work for an hour (or more) depending on how things are going. If I run into a problem where I need to do another onerous chore like rip out a nest of stitches that appeared in the middle and not at the beginning of a seam I know that I will need to analyze what happened. If I have the focus and energy to do that I will forge ahead. If I don’t I will write a sticky note with details of what happened and stick it to the problem area so that I can address it the next time when my energy and focus can do better problem solving.
It’s hard to see black thread on black materials might go blind lol lol
And that is why I detest sewing with black on black! Thanks for watching Toni!!!
Quilt the pot holders.😅
Be back at 4❤
counting on it Roxanne :)
I do this with Alexa.
Alexa set a timer for 20 minutes snd go.
Maybe give them to victims if the hurricane
Quilt them.
How old is Hazel?
She is 5 going on 35
I think, Di, you’d love Teri Rowland’s binding board with all the binding you do. ua-cam.com/video/6fhmMH2pBUM/v-deo.htmlsi=FM_wiMj1jN857Alk
If you have several quilts to bind like you did in the video, you can stitch your binding strips all together, press them in half as as one kazillion-inch long strip, then seam rip a couple short seams to separate them!
I don’t like to sew, knit, crochet or cross stitch with black. Unstitching or frogging is awful.
@@debbiechittick4755 on black, I 👍🏼 ✔️
Thanks for watching Debbie😊♥️🐥
Could you tell me about your .name and it came about about?
don't quilt the potholders
Quilt the potholders.
