    Man,you're really good at these stuff i've currently looked into some of your videos especially "How to Find The Key of A Song-By Ear."that really helped me.i've been trying to get the song notes but it very hard the song is called "love on first sine-spag heddy"that song is a dupstep and also is very hard to do it by ear since theres many sounds played but the first note like the very first note is D4 and then i have trouble deciding wheter the next note is sharp or flat since the sound is very confusing can you try to do that song?

    THANK YOU!
    Man, your teaching style is music to my right cortex. I give you mad props for "getting it" and teaching context, concepts, examples and procedure along with appropriate theory without giving an algebra lesson. You teach from your right brain. That seems rare in the music education field. I can apply this immediately, even if I never learned anything beforehand. Wow, that is amazing stuff!
    You teach "why" and not just "what". Let me give you my view on what makes you a special, and gifted teacher: 99% of "musicians" I have experienced, are (I'm sorry) horrible teachers. How many times do people teach "facts" or wrote memorized information with no practical examples, perspective, workflow or context. They work out the logic, of say, the circle of fifths, and call it a day. (I pull my hair out!) Most regurgitate stuff anyone can reference in a book. Its all been done.
    Anyone can read a basic textbook. Its already there. Like relics from a dead civilization. No life! Its all left brain, logic and memory stuff and were talking about MUSIC! MUSIC IS FEELING, NOT LOGIC! However, you teach how, when, in reference to, why, why not, where, if, etc... " Your pacing, humor, creativity, and fun make learning a thrill; learning should not feel like a root canal. I admit to anxiety while listening to theory occultists. My mother was a music teacher. I have the capacity to learn all this stuff: but i don't want to if its not fun. You make it fun. And, no, I dont want a PHD, I just want to tinker my hobby. Your lesson was self encapsulated- immediately useful within its own context, while bridging the broader aspects of the big picture. Okay, gush and rant- over.
    I come from a family of dynamic teachers, which makes me feel qualified to pitch my opinion. I always give my high regards when that rare someone "gets" teaching. Just in case you feel like broadening your career horizons, consider that your heartfelt, dynamic and effective teaching style would fill a huge vacuum in the world of music education. I imagine you are successful at what you do now, but I know you would be an absolute success teaching people how to make music. (READ!-produce a professional video set, for profit!) Practical, useful and hands-on, you have the power to move artists unlike the vast majority of anxiety inducing, rubber-stamping regurgitators who are forever imprisoned in there left hemispheres.
    Okay, I lied, still gushing, still ranting.
    Since i suggested making more videos, and you asked for some ideas, i will throw out an idea or two. Create tutorials like this one on creating melodies, but use your method to include these bite-sized steps that ultimately cover an entire song and do that to cover the steps, the basics on the 1st song.
    Then show more examples by making 5 or 6 songs total and use the lessons from the 1st song as a kind of template for the others, burning in the basics, while using the other songs to cover variables, higher concepts and more advanced stuff, while sticking withe the foundation in a repeated (but of course variable) fashion in the later songs as kind of staple (we need several examples to really get it), while using the more advanced stuff as flavoring peppered in to whet the appetite for your next video instruction set, which would include the advanced stuff now as foundation in the first song, to lead to even deeper nuances to be introduced in the 5 other songs.
    Or not.
    just sayin', yer awesome.
    peace,
    Joe

    Thanks v m for your explanations. I would like to know some things about your hardware (synthesizer instrument ) and software products and producers that you used in your video lesson and for making a song and playing it. For me is a hobby . Thanks again!

    • @RhythmicCanadaStudio
      @RhythmicCanadaStudio  9 років тому

      Gabriela Tutu Hi! What I have in the studio is overkill for making what you see in the video here. Since it's a hobby you want to keep things simple as you build a more complex setup. All you really need is a basic MIDI keyboard and a DAW. I'm using Logic Pro X as my main DAW (which only runs on a Mac). If you've got a Mac then I would highly recommend it coz it's very powerful and very cost efficient (hard to get those two things in a bundle lol).
      Most of the instruments you hear are found within Logic. I didn't add anything from an external source. Regardless of which DAW you use, they will most likely provide you with some synthesizer instruments and some beat loops to get you started.

    I learned a lot from the 1st and 2nd parts :) Thnx very much, I understand the melody and how it works, Can you please do a tutorial about the backing music i mean when the singer start to sing, What's the kind of instrumentation we can put there??? Thnx very much in advance ;)

    • @djfajry
      @djfajry 9 років тому

      I mean in the song we have a lead vocal (chorus) and lead melody (mean), But when the singer sing the "Verse" in that part whats the kind of music melody we can play, I know its not going to be the "mean melody" repeated again or just some empty beats percutions. sorry for my english.

    • @RhythmicCanadaStudio
      @RhythmicCanadaStudio  9 років тому

      Youssef Fajry Not a problem. I think I understand. I usually like to highlight whatever is the most important thing without involving too much of anything else that pulls a listeners attention away from that thing. So for example if I'm trying to highlight a melody, then I won't involve another melody. The same goes for vocals. Usually vocals are VERY important so I don't put much with it. If I do then I might ride an instrument along with the vocal maybe a third or a fifth away with a complimentary motion just to give the vocal some support. Not in any way to contrast the vocal or to take away from the vocal. Just riding along with the vocal a fifth or third away.
      And also during the Mixing phase I would make this other instrument low in level so the vocal continues to remain the focus.
      Keep in mind that if the vocal has a harmony it may not even need anything. It also depends on how much other stuff you have going on around the vocal at the same time. Don't feel like there are any rules to this please because this is the creative side of making music. If you feel it needs something then it does. If you feel it doesn't then don't add anything.
      See if the chord progression is enough. If not, try a third or fifth complimentary motion instrument. That might help.

      is this what we call transpose the melody some octaves above or down?? Thank you very much in advance ;)
