Thanks for this ! One day , soon after the record came out, I was sitting listening with the sliding door open, suddenly, a great number of birds began to sing, seemingly in tune with the music.I got quite a few great rushes and goosebumps all over..what a beautiful moment it was. What a beautiful man Wille P. was. I was lucky to see him several times, he was amazing live!
thank you so much for posting this! I miss Willie and his high lonesome sound, he was so underrated for his writing abilities. i miss the HELL out of his mandolin playing and fantastic harmonic work as well. i had met and spoke with him on many many occasions at Fred Eaglesmith shows from Ontario to Texas and lots of places in between, its hard to fathom he has been gone since 2008. i saw him do a solo show at Saenger Hall in Tx,,,was a thing to behold! thanks again for posting! 400OTD
I have to dig out this record..each song a gem..lucky to have seen him on this tour and a few other times..and to have chatted with him a couple of times..he was a great person as well as great songwriter and guitarist..not to mention his harp skills and singing..I love he had a washboard/cymbal player and washtub bass..WOW Wille:) the most unsung hero to come out of the Canadian folk music scene..oh Fed Eaglesmith was playing backup singer/mandolin which was a treat:)
