You can break them from being broody. Put them in a cage with food and water. No nesting material. Anywhere from 2 days to a week. Seems cruel but if she's not eating she gets sickly!

I just had a broody chicken pull her under feathers. I use lyer feed and blend in other grains. She didn't say don't use those period but use in moderation with balanced feed. Aka treats

If they get fat... your feeding in inappropriate ratios. Corns not bad, it needs to be used properly. Corn is a hot feed. Many animals can't handle high corn load in the summer. Because when they eat it, their body temps rise.
You can't feed just 1 feed source. Any whole foods diet needs balance. Relying on processed feed is giving over the responsibility to know what they should be eating. We have become accustomed to feeding our animals 1 item and be done. Just like a human, you can't do it. Processed Feeds are like ensure. Yes you can survive on them, but it's not pleasurable. Additionally, animals are very good at eating the food and minerals they need if it's in thier environment.
I'm not shaming using a feed, but i am shaming the video encouraging people to not use nature

So what your saying, is don't let nature be your choice, rely on processed foods?
No thank you! My animals eat no processed feed. Scratch grain, with sunflower and wild seed and beet shread all mixed into brewers grain. My chickens are very healthy. In fact I had one injured when a sparrow got in thier coop and the male hurt her trying to deal with the intruder. She was completely lame and should have been culled. She is now completely healed.
Just because your not willing to take the time to figure out HOW to correctly feed your birds naturally don't spread your mis-guided information. You basically rely on others. Last year I remember how chicken owners were saying thier birds on processed feed weren't laying... hmmmm figured out they 'altered the recipe' to save money.... you sure that's the best? Dud you get your feed tested? Or are you relying on the fact that it's in a store? Smh

That’s a crock. I’ve had chickens for more years than you are old. They eat corn, bugs, worms, etc. they lose feathers on their back having to many roosters or no nutrition. I’ve had broody chickens and none have lost stomach feathers.

I’m sure all chickens aren’t the same. Maybe there are some basic similarities but somethings can be different. I have hens that have bald spots in places caused by the rooster we had and for other reasons… they get a layer feed and some BSFL as a treat in moderation….
