What's up brother! I was the jeep that was behind you coming up the mountain from cedar. Good job on the off grid. Subscribed! -Tom Ellison. Swains Creek DCV 🇺🇸✌️🇺🇸
@@tomellison5588 Awesome! I saw you. So cool! 😎 👍 🇺🇸
I don't see the point in this other than to try and prevent a muddy mess with all that clay soil when it rains. What are the benefits of this? What are the downfalls?
Hi buddy saw ur ride visiting my bro in Az
So awesome! 🙌
I have tried soil and cement too, wet poured, but because of the clay it cracks everywhere when drying, clay shrinks. Don't you have this problem?
Yes! I was there today and it turned out horrible. The weather really destroyed it and it’s all crumbly after the winter snow. I need to make a posting on here about it. This summer I’m going to do a dry cement pour to replace it.
@@tobeystinyhouse sorry to read that, I am just adding a layer of sand and cement on top of my mess, looks like it turns out fine after all...
Couple hundred more bags of cement and it might be solid 🥴
We’ll see….it my first time doing this I used 2 more bags than the other videos recommended….either way it’ll be a good learning experience.
Actually, the ideal ratio is 5-10% for cement stabilised soil. You can always use more for more strength, but we aren't making concrete here, you are just stabilising the soil to prevent it from going muddy or slumping.
I love soil cement as a base for under paving stones.
It's going to crumble..you have to keep it moist or semi wet for at least a week or it won't set up right..cover it with plastic or a tarp to hold the water in
