Cool. I literally just ordered this 3 days ago and am awaiting its arrival. I had a Hamilton earlier in the year, but I sold it. I like to backpack, and I cannot abide a field watch I can't read in my tent at night or risk falling into a stream with. So I got this one. IMO, functionally, this is a superior watch to the Hamilton at half the price. Well done! Thanks for the review.
I'm heavily considering the watch and had a few questions if you don't mind. How has the watch been? Do you find that it is versatile enough to dress up? And does the dial every feel too simple?
I’ve had the blue dial version for a year. Really cool watch. I got the bracelet for it recently and it really transformed it. Gives it a neat everyday sports watch/field watch hybrid look. Great video as always.
Looking on getting this for my 10 years of service in the Marine Corps. After searching Marathon, Seiko, Hamilton, etc., this watch keeps catching my eye. It checks all the boxes of what I want in a field watch, to include a bracelet option.
It would make a great gift for your achievement. I was active duty Marines for 5 yrs myself. I recently had an opportunity to have my picture taken with the Blue Angels. I knew ahead of time I was gonna be in the picture, with their F/A-18 right behind us, so I wore a bright red Marine Corps shirt and my red Islander ISL-128. It REALLY popped in the photo with the plane behind us. I don’t think he offers the red one at the moment though, but every so often he releases different ones again if enough people ask him to. But mine is accurate to within 8 seconds a day and the only other brand I have that has comparable lume is Seiko. I love my Islander and hope to add more to my collection in the future. Semper Fi!
Very nice! I love the Islanders, but haven’t gotten one yet. I did purchase a Squale GMT from LIW a couple years ago, and the buying experience was great!
I just ordered the ISL-187 so I could get the Day and Date at the bottom. Most of my watches have indices and I wanted something with numbers. I spent some time looking at Hamilton field watches, but the yellow lume/ poor lume and higher price didn’t seems worth it to me. I do like the Hamilton’s movement better though.
I’d like to see a different logo, I’d like a small palm tree on a small outline of a island on the bottom or even a little wave with islander written on the bottom. That would make the logo more upscale.

The Islander line is rock solid. I own two 38mm divers and the isl41 field watch with a white face. I love them.

Congrats Killer and Semper Fi!
As a former Marine myself, you will not be disappointed. I have the green dial. Love the watch!

I enjoyed this review so much I purchased the day-t model. Thank you
Nice, glad you enjoyed!
Love the look of the lugs!
Great looking watch I love that he decided to forgo the day complication!
That gap in the lugs..bothers me..

This would have been my watch if it came in a 42mm diameter. Can't beat the price..!
They have a 42 mm version now

Message Mark with this please
Long Island, NY is not known for palm trees
@@cityslacker6221 that the beauty of my idea. Only true fans will know that to others it will be a trade mark logo
@@cityslacker6221 The wave is what I meant. I definitely have palms where I’m from
The dial is just way too crowded for me, too much stuff on it. I had an ISL-107, 39mm Flieger' much less busy.
