The end of the fight between Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Darth Maul shows the difference between Sith and Jedi very well. When the laser partitions separated Qui Gon and Maul from each other, the Jedi began to meditate, calming down, and the Sith, on the contrary, walked in a rage like a tiger in a cage, filling himself with emotions. And when Obi Wan attacked Maul after the death of his master, you can see that he was filled with rage, which took him out of balance, since this is not the way of the Jedi and he does not know how to handle it, and Darth Maul, being a Sith who has been raised inside the order since childhood, who on the contrary feeds himself with emotions, easily he was defeated and thrown into the mine, and only when Obi Wan was able to calm down and return to balance, he was able to defeat Maul мне

Welcome to the world of Star Wars.
At the moment, there is only one global state in the galaxy where the action of the films takes place - this is the Galactic Republic, which has existed for more than several thousand years, it is governed by a senate, which includes representatives from each world that is part of the Republic. Systems that are not part of the republic remain neutral or form their own small alliances.
Now about the structure of the Force, in this period of time, the two most powerful and well-known orders of forceusers are the Sith and the Jedi, they came from one ancient order of force users who served both its aspects - the Dark and the Light side. The dark and light side of the force are not the good and evil side, they represent two different currents of force and were named by members of the very first order in honor of the two moons that were satellites of the planet where this order was based, one was made of white stone, the other of black. This ancient order practiced a balance between the sides, the light one is more calm and creative, the dark one is more emotional and destructive. But over time, this order banned the study of the dark side of the force and focused on the light side, becoming the Jedi Order from the time. Once there was a split within the order and some members of the supreme Council were exiled to unknown regions of the galaxy because of the desire to study the dark side of the force. These fallen Jedi found the planet Korriban (or Morraband), where a humanoid undeveloped red-skinned race lived, which had a huge connection with the dark side. The fallen Jedi quickly subdued this race, which called itself the Sith, after which they named themselves the Sith Lords, creating a new order of force users, which was focused only on the dark side. With the passage of time, several major wars occurred between the newly created Sith Empire and the Old Republic, which included the Jedi as guardians of peace and justice. As a result, the Sith were almost destroyed several times, losing wars due to constant betrayals and internecine power struggles. But then a Sith lord was born, named Darth Bane, he created the rule of two, the rule that there can only be two Sith master and apprentice, a master to embody power, apprentice to reach for this power. When an apprentice becomes more powerful than a master, he kills him and takes his place, taking a new apprentice, the Sith were forced to go underground, but began to develop thanks to this. Darth Bane, after creating this rule, killed all the remaining Sith, becoming a master and taking a female forceuser as an apprentice, who eventually killed him and, taking his place, continued the path of the Rule of Two.
Sith and Jedi have opposite ideologies and philosophies, and most importantly - an attitude to the Force, Jedi serve the force, cutting themselves off from everything mundane, they are forbidden to take wives or husbands, have children, have property, nothing should cause affection and emotions and distract from serving the Force. Emotions lead to the dark side of the force, so the Sith raise their emotions to the absolute, they feed on them, most often hatred and rage, as one of the most powerful emotions, but also any other, if the Jedi serve the force like monks, then the Sith use the force to get what they want. Even the powers of the dark side and the light side are different, the light side is more creative and protective (forceful push, mind deception), when the dark side is more destructive and aggressive (force strangulation, force lightning)
At the moment, the Sith are hiding their existence and following the path of the Rule of Two, the republic is in a deplorable state due to corruption and debts, and the Jedi are increasingly moving away from their path, which is why a Sith Lord named Darth Sidious decided to prove himself by sending his apprentice Darth Maul on an open mission

If you want to watch these in chronological order and also want to do the t.v. series (and cartoons), here's the (so far) confirmed chronological list:
The Acolyte (season 1 debuts at the end of June and is set 100 years before this film)
Tales of the Jedi episodes 1-3
    Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
Tales of the Jedi episode 4
Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
The Clone Wars series and movie (the chronological episode order is on the Star Wars website; don't watch the final four episodes just yet)
Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
The Clone Wars series season 7 episodes 9-12
Tales of the Jedi episodes 5-6
    The Bad Batch seasons 1-3
    Solo: A Star Wars Story
    Obi-Wan Kenobi
    Andor season 1
    Star Wars Rebels
Andor season 2 (not out yet)
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
    Episode 4: A New Hope
Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
Episode 6: Return of the Jedi
    The Mandalorian seasons 1-2
    The Book of Boba Fett
    The Mandalorian season 3
    Ahsoka season 1
    Skeleton Crew (not out yet)
The Mandalorian And Grogu (film, not out yet)
Ahsoka season 2 (We're still unsure which comes first, this or the Mandalorian and Grogu film)
Untitled forthcoming Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett/Skeleton Crew/Ahsoka crossover film
    Star Wars: Resistance season 1
    Episode 7: The Force Awakens
    Star Wars: Resistance season 2
    Episode 8: The Last Jedi
Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker
There are also a planned untitled "Dawn of the Jedi" film and a planned post-Episode 9 film featuring the main character of Episodes 7-9 that are announced and in various stages of pre-production, but I'm not holding my breath on those just yet. Also, on Saturday we get six episodes of Tales of the Empire but until them we really only have a rough idea of where those episodes fall in the timeline -- definitely between Episodes 3 and Ahsoka season 1, but nothing more concrete until then.
Personally, I would avoid Episodes 7-9 (and, by extension, Star Wars: Resistance) since those movies ignore Lucas's intended mythological themes and messages and subtext about the nature of life forms in symbiosis and mutual cooperation and analysis of democracy devolving into fascism in favor of empty nostalgia, hollow (though well shot) action sequences, and mindless pew pew pew. But that's just me. I like my Star Wars to have a little more depth to them.

38:10 Fun fact about that scream! It gained a lot of popularity because it was used in the OG Star Wars as a joke. It's the Wilhelm scream. You're gonne be hearing it quite a bit

The Wilhelm scream was used long before Star Wars and has been used in thousands of other movies. It's been a long-running in-joke with sound designers to put it in movies.

I didn't really like that famous actors and characters drop in this movie happened along side with important information
Mace Windu (Samuel Jackson's character), Yoda and Ki-Adi-Mundi (long headed guy) were talking about the fact that the Sith were extinct for a millennium (as Jedi thought) and attack on the Qui Gon made not by some rouge Jedi, but by a warrior who had tattoo of the ancient Sith order was a pretty big deal

Great reaction! Don’t underestimate the queen lol she decided to go out to tatooine (desert planet) on her own and is also only 14 years old at the time of this movie 😳. The Jedi were also aware of her decoys that’s why Qui Gon makes some smart remarks to her about the queen several times while there.

    • @SmokersStaircase

And Darth Mauls race isn’t sith. Sith are more like a dark side order kind of like the opposite of the Jedi, but with their own rules and codes focused on the dark side of the force. The original sith were a race but that was long before and eventually it just became a group of different dark side users

    • @SmokersStaircase
      @SmokersStaircase Місяць тому

And the reason they say Anakin is too old is because Jedi are taken from their families as babies so they won’t have any memories or attachments to them

Darth Maul was caught off guard. In his arrogance he thought the battle was already won and forgot about Qui Gon’s lightsaber
