Extremely well done! Nice photography and a good selection of music. You did a great job in post editing and bringing it all together. Nice flying with your Inspire, thank you for showing people the good things that can be done with quadcopters. Have a great holiday season!
Great work Philip! Big fan of you work! I Have the 45mm, a bit tricky to use for video but possible to get some awesome shots from it! Thinking to get the 25mm... I guess this one is better for video use than the 45mm ?
Very very nice job Philip, I know that catching surfers is not so easy as it seems to be in the footage !! Your last evening shoot is deeply "cinematographic" !! Which city it is ?A great "Bravo" from Paris France, and don't give up shooting sun set that way , you've got a very good angle of view in your flight path choices. You really make the difference with the amount of video drone. Great job Philip.D.O.P.Inspire 1 Pilot, France
+Philip Lima Hey ! This is the brand's name of my two old skateboards when I was 12 years old !! very far away ! But the spirit remains. I went in CA for a shooting in NASA Ames Research Center few years ago for french TV but I never went in Santa Cruz, maybe one day ! Thank you for showing us Santa Cruz in that poetic vision. I definitely gonna buy this "smooth glider" 45 mm !!
Fantastic job, thanks for sharing! What was your camera settings, do you film in Aperture Priority? Did you film in 1080 x 60 & shutter-speed 1/60? You can see it's not your first time filming, very smooth motions, did you have a 2nd person doing the flying?
I did shoot in AP mode at 4K 24P with a shutter between 1/50th and 1/120th depending on the shot. I had a second person doing the camera control and I was piloting. With the longer lenses, this is the only way to get really smooth pans.
+Drono del Aire No, the Olympus 14-42mm is not a very good lens and is very slow compared to the primes. I own it and shoot with it sometimes, but it just doesn't compare to the primes.
+Hugo Haddad I know! I noticed when I was editing. It was actually a dust spot on the back of the lens, it's only visible when I shot above F8, which is why it isn't in all of the footage.
+Philip Lima Do you think with enough practice you could pull those rotations off with just one op? As you say, it's hard to find someone that can "understand your head."
+Peter J Corbett you need alot practicing and i mean alot ! besides you taking too much Risk because one op wont able to (Focus on Shots, fly the quad, avoid obstacles all at same Time ) you need someone to keep his eyes on the quad itself otherwise you will hit something :) and my major problem is You need to find someone able to understand your Head ,your Ideas, your thoughts ,some one love to take a shoots by quads from the Air, some one love this hobby, you understand what i mean do you?
+Peter J Corbett I think you could get something that would work, but it's very difficult to fly that precisely. You would be better off programming a flight path and then operating camera manually in my opinion.
Some people don't answer, cause they don't want to speak about their secrets! hahaha... All you need is 14 grams to balance it. You can make combinations of rings, filters and hoods, depending of the shooting situation. I advice you to buy a step up ring 37mm to 46mm like kenko's which is only 3g weight and then you can use the same accessories withe the DI and Panasonic Lenses like DJI's 10g weight ring or a CPL filter like gobe's 46mm which is 11g. I think you can go up to 20g more weight.. 115g the lens plus 20g. check my 445mm video in Instagram.. instagram.com/p/BehULFPFgWl/
It really is great to have lens options. The 25mm perspective is just great for a drone.
Great post, the 45mm FOV, compressing the scene, is a great reason to fly the X5.

+RollercoasterDave Thank you very much for the kind words!
+RollercoasterDave Great indeed.
agree . . . what is that song? by whom? appreciate the lens choice differences !
Excellent work. Finally someone who knows what they are doing !
+Mighty Sky Film Thank you!
This is awesome... You have sold me on the X5 with the 45mm lens. Great job!
Even on youtube that footage looks great. The X5 seems a lot more promising than the initial speculation. Sweet footage Philip. Thanks for sharing.
so beautiful...can't hold back the tears
Great looking footage, and a great test....very helpful! Thank you for putting this together.
Absolutely stunning! 👏
exGorgeous footage - gets me really amped for my X5 to get here. Great edit and color!

nice set up! makes footage from my P3A look like an ar drone, thumbs up!!
This is beautiful Philip!
Great quality. At 2:48 on bottom left corner you can see clearly walking guy through window.
+dexter82 Never noticed that! Good eye!
amazing! well done

+BATEL seb Thank you for the kind words! The city shot is of downtown Santa Cruz, CA.

Philip, Thanks for sharing your great work! Did you have any issues balancing the 25mm and 45mm lenses?
Nice Job! Looks really nice.
Very Beautiful video.

Looks epic. Great job
Nice work. The 45mm will definitely be my next lens. Was there any vibration that ended up on the cutting room floor? :-)
Great! Whats the name of the music?
Love your work Philip, how do you maintain focus with 45mm? Is it dual operator and pulling focus manually? Thanks in advance
nice shots mate ! , im planning to get the inspire pro with 45mm lens , but many people told me the x5 unstable with the 45mm lens , any idea ?
which camera settings? good job
Good !
do you use any ND filters for this lens ? if so, which do you use? thank's !
Please tell me, how did you balanced your lens on x5 45MMPlease tell me, how did you balanced your lens on x5 45MM
Hi my friend which Lents do recommend to buy the 25mm or 45mm?
Thanks
Great video Philip , say name this music please
+Zedtorno The music is from Premiumbeat.com, and is called "In Dreams".
Philip Lima thank you!
Which is better? The 25mm or 45mm?
Please tell me, how did you balanced your lens on x5 45MM
nice Clip...
Good job bud
+Eric Peniata Thanks!
Would you rather have the Olympus 14-42mm than the 25mm and 45mm separately?
+Drono del Aire No, the Olympus 14-42mm is not a very good lens and is very slow compared to the primes. I own it and shoot with it sometimes, but it just doesn't compare to the primes.
+Philip Lima Thank you.
@philip lima what did you use to counterweight each lens? I just got the 45mm and the gimbal gets a bit hot without one.
I use a 37>46mm filter adapter and ND filter to balance it.
Awesome thanks. Do you remember which ND you used specifically? Where are you bass also?

Hi my friend, your sensor is dirty. Bottom right corner.
Awesome images!
+Hugo Haddad I know! I noticed when I was editing. It was actually a dust spot on the back of the lens, it's only visible when I shot above F8, which is why it isn't in all of the footage.
Very nice comparison! :) I subscribe you :)
What did you use to balance the 45mm?
+Mighty Sky Film I use a 37>46mm adapter and a UV or ND filter.
+Philip Lima is that all? Same with the 25mm? Just ordered them so any help would be great. Isn't the roll axis off balance? Thanks
That's all. The roll axis was pretty well balanced with just the adapter and filter.
Where this buddy
What is it place?
Dual operator setup?
+Saleem Khutaba Yes. Wouldn't be possible with single operator in my opinion.
Philip Lima I agree with you ! but its hard to find someone close to you that able to understand your Head :)
