    I am so grateful for this interview. Leonard Jacobson's teaching has transformed my life through the years. His teachings are incredible powerful and effective. Most of all, however, his Presence is an instant, calming transmission. His retreats are genuinely life-changing ... nothing in the world like it! Thank you again for this beautiful interview. 💗

    I love how Leonard explains awakening in such a poignant and simple manner. He really gets straight to the gist of it, which makes it much more accessible to people.

    At 44:00. the interviewer seemed confused by the guests remark about his presence... That is basically the fundamental thing "to be present"... I wish the interviewer would've understood the profundity of that remark.

    Seems to me the perfect 2 step method is 1. Establish yourself in presence , in the now as per Ekhart Tolle. Strikes me that this first step is a modern version of a preparatory practice which Advaita Vedanta calls the yoga of "Karma Yoga", -not caring about the fruits of one s action.
    step 2. When one is pulled out of the present moment, during step 1, or more accurately, out of awareness and into consciousness of objects (sensations, perceptions and thoughts) by the mind, one practices Self inquiry-who is aware of these objects? answer- I am; Who am I? THus self inquiry leads you back to presence, to the threshold of the path back from the ego, to the SELF. A simpler take on how to re-enter awareness is to practice awareness being aware of awareness, or answer the rupert spira question- Am I aware? and then abide in awareness
    Whichever method is used, the key is to take faltering steps to the SELF with devotion and commitment, the SELF in turn will take steps towards you and this is traditionally called GRACE

    Hi Iain
    It feels to me like your just stuck in a mindset (a thought) that it's too hard to be present . It's really the ego trying to survive. You've forgotten you already are present ...you are presence but you're turning it into another thing "I have to do" to awaken. There's nothing to do. That's the beauty of Be...ing. ..you already are..the main part of Leonard's teaching really is just to notice this and enjoy it...like you're in bed on a cold night and you suddenly are aware of the uttter cosiness of your nice warm bed. You're "here and now" Another time you might be in the same bed and thinking about all the things you need to be doing tomorrow. Then..."Oh...I'm in my mind again " just that. ..and your present again....You are always the Presence. Luvya 😊
    Remember John Lennon's song to his son....one line says it all. ...
    "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans"🌻🌱

      Most of us are stuck in a mindset and are not present. It is easy to have an awakening but harder to live you life through the new insights. It takes a lot of practice until it become stabil.

    Concious tv is indeed the mouthpiece of God, and so in love the God is with us that he is speaking in different ways, different kinds, providing us choices , opening all the doors, just to have that reunion which knowingly, unknowingly we all are destined to have, out of compassion, out of great love he just seems to quicken this up by letting us understand in so many ways as possible, so he is appearing in so many forms giving interviews taking interviews, asking questions giving answers, iam speechless, just can't even utter thank you ,all I have are these tears to place at his feets and these too are his gift as clouds comes of there own whenever they come over, whenever it wants to there is lightining and rain.

    I have heard many similar teachings from people like Rajneesh and other Advaita type teachers.
    It seems it is a luxury or at least more easily obtainable by someone who is not spending every minute just to survive. If you are a victim of any persecution like a mass genocide or whatever evil the fears are very real and will not dissolve just because you face them or accept them, that is easy to say but not what survivors of these atrocities tell us. Maybe I am just too cynical or too in the mind but I personally feel that most of us who live in the real world struggle with genuine problems and maybe that is how it is supposed to be as that is how life is for every one that I have ever met. Living in the present must be beautiful but will it pay the mortgage or put your kids through college or a million other situations that arise in the real world. I don't necessarily call that playing with time but more accepting we all have responsibilities.

      People find themselves on very different levels of development and insight. The farther from enlightened you are, the more real all of your problems will appear. Now a good master will meet people at their appropriate level of maturity and take it from there on. You need to blossom were you are planted, as it were. Furthermore I do think that the process of self-actualization cannot really get started without the seeker having met her basic needs in life to a certain point. This is Abraham Maslow's view and he still seems to be right about it. However, that does not mean that the spiritual life is easy going materially. I have personally been hell and back many times during my awakening process, which has been all but a materially privileged course of life. But I guess it is still true that it would not have started if I had not prior to this unfolding satisfied the more egotistical needs. I think we have to satisfy the ego to a certain extent in order to find out that it will never provide contentment in life. Thus I don't see the polarity between the spiritual insights and the material world, that you seem to presume. To me it is rather a matter of a continuous expansion of consciousness, where subsequent stages follow the more elementary. According to such an outlook being egotistical and needing to secure money, approval, positions of power etc is not in itself bad. It is a stage of development much like puberty is in the development of the adult human being. Hopefully I did manage to relate somewhat to the gist of your important comment.
      Whenever we truly feel that spirituality has become aloof, we better abandon ship...
      Cheers mate, J

      Jonas Hjerpe Friend I do feel you misunderstood me. I didn't mean material things to satisfy the ego I meant survival literally as in the minimum in food and shelter. More people have to truly hustle to meet those needs in this world of ours than don't but many people especially in the west have no idea how the majority live.

    • @jonashjerpe7421
      @jonashjerpe7421 5 років тому +5

      @@martynspooner5822 Yes, ok. Sadly enough I think you are right. We are not only ignorant about the suffering of others, we are also oftentimes actively in denial of our neighbours pain. People that lack money, food, safety or shelter don't need supreme wisdom. They need immediate help. Certainly. But that does not make, I opine, the work of Conscious tv or the wisdom masters portrayad there less legitimate and important. If no one promotes wisdom our society will eventually be even more unwise with even more suffering. A society cannot only offer wisdom to people in pain, but a society that fails to offer such wisdom will be increasingly unwise and painful. Don't you think?

    • @martynspooner5822

      Yes I agree with you there completely. I was simply saying that to be able to go on inner journeys is easier for those of us who do not need to spend every waking moment trying to get the basics to survive. It seems so unfair that to even be in a position to go on inner journeys is in itself a luxury that many do not have the opportunity to afford.
      There seems to be so many western teachers of Advaita and I think that is the reason. Does it make it less valid? I am honestly not sure.

    • @jonashjerpe7421
      @jonashjerpe7421 5 років тому +2

      @@martynspooner5822 I agree with you. To be able to go on an inner journey is actually quite a privilege, although it certainty does not feel like that all the time (e.g. when the inner demons make themselves known for extended periods of time). Life is very far from fair and personally I don't know how to understand, explain, the utter injustice of life. Generally I think it is good if people awaken and become more mature, open, loving and wise. The only worry I have with the amount of western teachers is their authenticity. It is all too common that someone has had one or two substantial spiritual experiences after which they start to teach. That's very unfortunate I think.
      And we certainly don't want a culture like in certain parts of India, where the poverty and the suffering is extreme meanwhile gurus endlessly talks about suffering as an illusion that anyone can see through at this very moment.
      Although the injustice in life is quite extreme, there is often wisdom for all of us in the following words:
      When what matters is at the heart, the heart is what matters.
      My heart has pulled me towards self-realization. The costs of that dedication has been substantial on all levels of life. Yet I am called to trust that it is essentially a very benevolent transformation. Other than that I am left clueless.
      Yours, J

    Leonard keeps saying “You have to know HOW to deal with emotions, and come back to the present moment”, but in over an hour of talking he doesn’t share the technique. Most likely you have to fork out cash for his book.
    It’s rare to find an allegedly awakened being who talks your ears off like this, who creates so many concepts about having no concepts.
