#suggestion GM Nitzan Steinberg vs GM Peter Svidler, Gibraltar Masters 2017. Great kingside attack in the Taimanov variation of the Sicilian defense. Also, great video and story by @NitzanSteinbergGM on his youtube channel about this game. A video about this game would be great! Thanks!
Hey do videos from Hikaru’s channel show up in your feed? I’ve been subbed to Hikaru for a while now but never see his content unless I go to his channel. It’s like he’s shadow banned or something.
I watch Hikaru’s recaps he usually explains why he makes the moves that he does also his thinking behind it but just as in the game he’s not always making best decisions in some ways he tries to explain away his short comings at times it seems
@@albertroigmilan7133 Well if the N can be chased away then you would need f3 to stop mate. I am just saying, he says f3 to guard against checkmate but currently the N is covering that square.

7:22 After ...Qc8, how do you guys feel about knd2 to f3? Attacks the knight, if trades, qd1 xf3. Intresting position, though it does make it a little more even.
Because after Qd7 for black, there is ...Qb1# for white. Comes with check, not only one check possibly. Pawns will be lost, it is not so clear as you think. Or black can also defend by playing Qe6. Which defends his knight, and also attacks whites undefended knight on e3. In this case there is no material loss for black Magnus ofcourse knows all of this, and more, since he is the best of all time. His decision making is as flawless as human decision making can be. I guess you rating is somewhere around 1000. The question is not bad for this rating
@terrarossa-tk6zu I think you should not write about Qe6 analysis after someone already wrote if before you! Block with the knight where? Give me the notation after ...Qb1! ? There are 2 possible block with a knight...
@@BRAOSGEELRQb1 is losing for black though why would you play that? Qe6 is the correct analysis. Qb1+ Nf1 and you can not take any pawns because your bishop and knight hang. Take the pawn and your bishop falls, then if you take another pawn the knight falls
@@BRAOSGEELRcongrats? What do you want? Your qb1 analysis is incorrect thats all i wanted to point out? Both Qg5 and Qe6 work, just that Qe6 basically forces a trade of queens or pieces which could allow black more drawish chances. Edit: well not incorrect per se, just losing
Really liked the less-analysis explanation used in this video (sometimes less is more). It is nice because the actual game is on the board more than the what-if scenarios, making easier to follow.
I feel Hikaru can't take it that he is not the best ever that and Magnus gets in his head or he only likes his streaming as he cant be number 1 in his head. Hikaru usually beats Ding while Magnus finds Ding very strong opponent. Chess is also very mind game too!
Does Hikaru know how to play chess? He gives up a pawn he could've saved. Then trades down Queens into a losing endgame against the Master of Endgames, Magnus.

Zwischenzug is the german term. Many terms in chess come from other languages than english... let's face it, there aren't many top english players😂 Zugzwang is another german term that is indispensable in chess talk🎉
Carlsen has not won a single classical game in almost 2 years. We have a new league of classical players with very amazing concepts Wei Yi, Gukesh Hans Nieman et al. Magnus is out of classical chess elites no wonder he hates it
Carlsen has played more than 10 classical events in the last 2 years, around 50 games with wins over players like Giri (Norway Chess), Caruana (Tata Steel), Gukesh (World Cup) or Nepo (Sinquefield Cup).
@josephbakina6466 Troll harder my dude. Chess, like life, is so much more enjoyable when you let go of bitter feelings and just enjoy the process. Good luck.
Joseph.. oh joseph.. the hater of magnus… Magnus won world cup 1 year ago. Same as he won ECC ( clsssical ) And he won 3 classical games in a row now with +5
Y on earth would hikaru give a pawn for free without literally no counter-play against the endgame monster .. in the endgame he kept giving pawns for free reminding me of myself .. Hikaru should get out of the blitz mode . 7 plus mins against magnus is more than enough to get demolished for a minor inaccuracy let alone a blunder
going into an end game with Magnus is like starting a land war in Asia
Nah. It's more like going up against a Sicilian when death is on the line.
12:01 Magnus was actually up three pawns. Imagine being up three pawns against Hikaru.
He can be up? “ imagine if” ?
@markrobertson3054 need to re-learn your numbers lil bro?

during the 1st game, did magnus lose ratings since he has higher ratings than Hikaru?
Let's not delude ourselves. This is actually the Norway Armageddon Chess Tournament. Yet another degrading slap in the face to the classical game.

Naka was totally winning that classical game. Magnus rent free in his head.

Greatest endgame player ever.
very odd play from Hikaru, sacking a pawn for a mate threat that can be parried with a pawn push, that wouldnt even work in a game 1000 elo lower
People do stup*d plays when against the goat Magnus.

It's blitz, and Hikaru starts with less time on the clock. Sometimes doing something weird to waste white's time lets you find a draw that will hold.
that's why he is the goat
