This was such a joy to watch. The storytelling was so artful that I hardly noticed that Micheal snuck in at least nine pens to get to his final three. And I can relate to the fact that one of the final three no longer writes. That type of sentimentality makes sense to me.
I love this series of videos, and I hope that Appelboom Pennen can keep it going for a long long time. And I find it very revealing thta when the pen pundits have to limit themselves to only 3 faves, they suddenly get emotional and connect with certain life events in their ratings.
These are very fast becoming my favorite series of videos both for the pen enthusiast in me with all the beautiful instruments and the poignant and sometimes funny stories that accompany them.....
@@AppelboomPennen Hi, yes I do, Mike has a very interesting channel, I also like fountain pens, good stationery etc, and now we have the writerley witterings pen pal club, I"ve subscribed to Appleboom Pennen as well, will be watching your channel over the next few weeks
Hmm what are my three? I would say my Pilot 823, my Parker Duofold Centennial, and my Pelikan 805 Blue Dunes. Thanks for your review. Tomorrow I shall be making shortbread and sourbread. And continuing my read of the Merchant’s Partner.
Hi Mike! I had the same early experience with fountain pens that you did, so stayed away for too long. I do like your videos, so I shall have to subscribe to you. Joost, you are expanding the number of UA-cam subscriptions I have every week!
Been waiting for this one 😉 Thanks Mike, I was only close with my guesses for your pens. I thought the Crystal Dream but understand your choice. The all lava will beat anything. 👍🏻
. . . like your Indiana Jones!: know exactly what you mean about ‘lever fillers’ - my all time favourite pen, which I could never get rid of, is my beloved vintage Esterbrook model J w master’s series 9550 EF nib inked w Pelikan königsblau: penfection!:)
The Indiana Jones is just wonderful! It is so lovely that after I ordered mine, my office mate ordered one and a family friend did as well. That is 3% of the total make in a town of 120,000!
I love my Conway Stewart 84 with a gold fine stub flexi nib. Its a celluloid green and black cracked ice finish. I use it with Seitz Kreuznach Palm green ink. It's my favourite pen. I didn't know Conway Stewart were still going. My two other favourites are a Pilot Kakuno with the Con 70 push converter and a B calligraphy nib swapped from a Pilot Pluminix. I put a clip from an Iraurita pocket pen. Big ink capacity Third is a Jinhao X750 Shimmering sands with a Jowo 1.1 stub nib. The nib came from John Sorowka here in the UK. I use it with Pilot Blue Black ink
Holy s.. I checked the Visconti and it costs 800$ Wow! I don't know if I'll ever be able to get a pen that costs more than 20, but I wish at least once in my life, make a rich friend, to be able to write a sentence with a good pen. If he let's me touch his own of course..
😂 The first minute the automatic Google translator is activated and it translates your name in the most funny ways (in German), last one was "four trousers" and this one was "show Obama" 😂😂😂 Epic...

Thank you! We hope to have some more candidates for the series
This was fantastically enjoyable. My admiration for Michael Jecks has escalated further. A masterful "self interview"!
I loved how you got away with talking about more than three pens. I look forward to read your novels.
I love the British dry wit on display when he states his favorite pen is one he can’t use.
Always enjoy Michael’s take on pens. Thanks Appelboom!
Delightful!

What a superb audio track on this video. Excellent clarity, presence and total lack of background - hiss, rumble etc. Very well done!
Great to hear the views of a professional writer. Thank you Michael 👍🏾
Who else know better!
Simply a lovely commentary! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I 'get' him!!!! Emotion vs practicality. Which ones would one never part with? Perfect criteria! Love the video!
Perfect!
Wonderful to know about Michael and his collection of pens
Thank you!
Another outstanding commentary!
Good to see you on other channels, Mike! Lovely video. Thank you, Appelboom Pennen!

Sorry not sorry!
A goldmine of a video. Thank you.
great video, wonderful stories
Interesting to hear about Conway. Not very much reviewed here on UA-cam.
Indeed not a lot of content about Conway
Wonderful video! Thanks Appelboom and Michael for posting this video.
Thank you!

A storyteller, indeed!
A great storyteller!
My man needs a Conid if capacity is something he's looking for.
Conid Bulkfiller would make my Top 3
@@rickhoover6479 👏👏👏 great pen!
However, I'm still very much in love with my grandfather's PARKER 51... still ✍️writes beautifully.

It is not about the monetary value of the writing instrument, but about the story behind it✨

Which model of Cross was it???
Any reason you don’t use your Cross?
There was a leak at the section near the nib. Cross didn’t repair it, just sent him the new version.
@@michellestephenson1680 I could be wrong, but I think his question was referring to the replacement Cross, though he didn't specify.
It was "interesting" sir
Thank you!
