So is the sport of this that you want to avoid the other dancers and make it look pretty while you wait for the traffic jam to clear?
Actually yes, it's one of the challenges of it, because there is so much travelling motion in this style of tango. And the reason why good lead and follow are very important even though you prepare a routine for competitions. Every now and then you have to improvise steps to void waiting for the planned path to clear.
Where is Sengoku_san?
where is chizuru san lol
wow, I love Ballroom
Number 6 had to be my favourite, though
47 had more passion it's still my favourite
Ballroom dancers: WOW!
Argentine tango dancers: WTF?! 🙄
that is nothing like genuine tango
I know the feeling...I am Brazilian and I can't stand the way they represent " samba'. Really???
Lol
Yeah to me this is horrible, none of the poetry from argentine tango
@@federicacernuto6918 Very different from Argentinian tango for sure
Wow seing the 3/4 step in the monitor is really amazing
So funny
I would love to learn the turnings at the beginning from the women in the yellow dress. But I don't know what they are called so I can't search
If we're thinking of the same thing, they're a series of continuous pivots. If you look up a video from Dance Vision called "American Smooth DVIDA Gold Waltz Syllabus", the technique of how to do them is explained pretty succinctly. It's a video about waltz but the action can be applied anywhere.
This looks like a comic parody version of real tango. A Jim Carrey interpretation of the original sort of.
This is a disgrace and Not the Tango at all.
Those dresses take away the beauty of the tango.
but one of the beauties of ballroom dancing is how the dress flows with the movements... I think... I don't do ballroom dancing :)
Tropical Bananas Just the dresses??
None of you dance do you
What's the song?
daruda sandstorm
Help me love ballroom tango. I love Argentine tango, but I'm supposed to teach ballroom tango.
I do enjoy the speed with which the first couple moved across the floor. That looked like it would be fun to dance.
Everything else, I don't get it. Why do the followers' heads snap left and right?
Everything about they're movement looks robotic / like dolls. I'm not trying to badmouth ballroom tango. I'm trying to understand it.
Can anyone help me see what I'm not seeing? (Perhaps point to specific moments.)
Why do some people love ballroom tango?
Is it accurate to say ballroom tango is primarily danced for viewers, not for the enjoyment of dancers?
Are there any nightclubs where someone can dance ballroom tango? I know there are studios where people practice ballroom tango, but is there anywhere where dancing ballroom tango can feel like dancing [organically] / at a nightclub?
Do you know any other videos which you think better reveal why some people love ballroom tango?
Is American tango as artificial as International tango?
With this attitude, you’ll never appreciate it lol

I danced both and arentine Tango is so much better and natural. Why are you supposed to teach ballroom Tango?
@@LunaSky381 - I've managed to get some freedom with it now, but the studio wanted ballroom styles so students could compete
As someone who used to do ballroom and now just dances Argentine tango, I could never go back. They are nothing alike
I cannot be the only one who thinks the tango looks so weird LMFAO
Sure, it's skilful. But when you've seen the Argentine Tango, this is just flat and boring.
You can't compare Argentine to International tango, it's a completely different dance.
Well, you'd have to define which type you mean.
Some styles are Argentine Tango are rather slow and a bit pedestrian looking. If you mean the stage-style Tango with big lifts and legs flying everywhere...I agree it's exciting but it's not really the essence of Argentine Tango.
I love ballroom Tango, but it's hard to really be drawn into the atmosphere when you watch all the couples competing at once. Try watching a demonstration or showcase with just one couple on the floor and you'll see how exciting it can feel.
I think it's a bit over the top.
ballroom tango is basically what happens when you let rich repressed white people "reinterpret" dancing.
@@methosimortal Exactly...so well said...this is a stupid looking disgrace.
i am here after the anime Ballroom e Youkoso :)
