Just as a side note Rengoku is his family name which in Japanese means Purgatory and in Japanese folk lore purgatory is a realm in which someone is purged of sin or demons and they use fire in a lot of folklore to cleanse or burn away malice. So it's kind of a double meaning in the anime when he uses his final form against Akaza.
By the way , you might forget , but Tanjiro can smell demons and can also tell which person is strong or weak , or good or bad .
So i think Tanjiro just knows that Zenitsu is super strong , he doesnt need zenitsu to demonstrate his prowess . It will not suprise Tanjiro a bit😂
This. He even states at one point in s1 that Zenitsu had no reason to run away because he knows he's strong. Or when he thunderclapped that spider demon, Tanjiro was the only one not surprised by the sound of roaring thunder in the mountains. He knew Zenitsu was fcking shit up.

What many people dont know is that, the 9th form is actually the last name Rengoku(as the family is full of flame hashiras). His first name is Kyojuro. iN Japan people are referred to using their last name, in this case Rengoku....

Akaza was using 30% of his power against rengoku and also there are 9 total of hashira and rengoku is the 6th strongest hashira
There is no official ranking. The only one that's confirmed is Gyomei...other than that, it's just fanboys creating their own rankings which are untrue.
Akaza was not trying to kill rengoku because he wants him to fight more, he had several chances to kill him in the battle
But in the end shit gets real, and he got stuck with rengoku(We can easily see consern in Akaza’s face)he almost paid the price for not taking this fight seriously(He could have died there by Sun rise)

Trust, season 3 is 10 times better animation then the movie which is insane because it was a weekly dropped anime but the animation was movie lvl budget.

the fact is ...........akaza wasn't serious fighting rengoku ..he wants rengoku to be demon ..otherwise he would have killed rengoku,tanjiro,zenitsu,inosuke in the start with ease .........akaza is too powerful

"It's doable", "Akaza better watch out", ohh it's not doable Akaza was having fun against rengoku, akaza just wanted to fight and have fun this wasn't even 1% of akaza's power.
1. No hashira can beat Akaza 1v1 not even the strongest hashira (Gyomei - stone hashira), rengoku who is one of the weakest hashira (3rd weakest) stood no chance.
2. If akaza wanted to he would have obliterated rengoku is 1 hit, he is a martial artist so he wanted to have a good fight.
3. Rengoku's last form was his family name his name is "Kyojiro", "rengoku" is his family name his ancestor made that move, rengoku didnt make that move unlike giyu who himself made 11th from.
4. current giyu would stand no chance against akaza, and giyu is way way stronger than rengoku
5. Akaza is one of the best characters in Demon Slayer if not the absolute best, he is way better than generic hashira "rengoku". rengoku (Most overrated hashira along with serpent hashira) was fun and likable but is the least interesting hashira out of all and has one of the weakest backstory.
Everything I mentioned is canon so rengoku fanboys don't bother commenting plzz. Go read the manga again if you have any doubts.
