Age means nothing when it comes to an rock album like this. It's just plain fantastic, whatever age you are, what decade of rock you might usually listen or whatever genre too. makes no difference. It shows that you have great taste in rock and music in general.

Sure am. I saw them on the Don't Look Back tour, sprang for third row seats.
This is the only album I can think of where the worst song on it is still really good and most of them are truly great. All this is just opinion of course and some would disagree, but IMO this is not only the best album in the history of rock and roll, but the best there will ever be. It will never be surpassed.

However, it wasn't until today that I realized that so many of the songs I love from Boston were on the same original, self titled debut album. They sure don't write music like they used to! So many great tracks on this album, front to back!

It happened when FM radio came along. 1967? They'd play what they wanted to, nobody told them what to play. AM car radio was for the 3 minute singles. FM radio was 4-5 minute songs, more relaxed.
Records became "the Concept Album" instead of unrelated random songs. For example, The Eagles - Hotel California.
I think FM radio coincided with Stereo being new, 1968? btw Jimi Hendrix was right there,
      right then!

They made more than 3 albums. 6 Studio Albums Boston, Don't Look Back, Third Stage, Walk On, Corporate America and Life, Love and Hope. First 3 are great and after they tail off a bit. But it was great back in the 70's. In 76 we had this album and the next year we had Bat out of Hell. Arguably the 2 best debut rock albums ever. btw virtually all the playing on the album is Tom Scholz, with only Jim Masdea drums (who the record company got fired before the record deal) and Brad Delp's vocals added later. It was a clever deception.

I was only 10 when this came out but I still to this day remember first hearing the fade-in intro of More Than a Feeling coming from a neighbor's hi-fi. For my 12th birthday I bought the first of many copies. Wore out three copies on vinyl before I finally could afford a decent turntable. Several cassettes and a couple of CD's later...Just recently exposed my 10yr old grandson to this masterpiece. Like his granddad, the outro to Hitch A Ride made his hair stand up. I told him "that's the body's natural response to really great music!"

Every song as other have said is so well performed that this is the real meaning when you hear the the statement "It Rocks!" The only other album that is close to this is ,,, And some will disagree because I have not heard everything and were talking R & R here,,, Is, is , is SUPERTRAMP "Breakfast in America" album!! I use to run with that music using headphones and a Sony Walkman. I had to make 3 cassette tape because I would literally wear them out. The good old days using turntables and 500 + watt amplifiers and huge speakers!!! I learned how to play every song on this Boston Album.. What good memories!!!! Rock on and Praise the LORD!!!!!

Fran cracked me up with his headbanger style of bass playing, but man could they all play rock and roll or what? Brad Delp’s voice was heaven sent, Tom and Barry’s guitar playing was magical and Sid’s drumming was perfectly created to support the sound! Goosebumps man... Goosebumps!

I was 5 or 6 when this came out. My brother had the 8-track. I latched onto it and I loved it so much my parents bought me the album. The first rock album I ever owned and to this day one of my most favourite and most cherished albums of all-time. Never sounds dated, always knocks my on my ass and stands up stronger than ever 46 years later. Its really sad that Brad Delp never found his Peace Of Mind. And after years together w/Boston, he and Scholz didnt get along. Brad seemed like such a nice guy in interview, very down to earth, very un-rockstar. He claimed to have battled depression since adolescence. Who would've known? I've been enjoying this album again a lot lately, its been awhile. So sad about Brad. I guess its because this album has been so important to me since my childhood in the 70s, it sort of feels like losing an old friend. But thank God for the music, long live rock!

Absolutely stunnin`kick ass from first to last tune. The 70`s best of any band in debut album. Sib Hassian job is a master class how to playu drums to support the song. Sholz`s guitars from out of the planet and of course Brad`s voice. Nothin left to say.
