I have never heard Remi say "ITS A PRANK" just to avoid being beaten or arrested. He is a real man who accepts the consequences of his acts and pranks.
The only way I can imagine he's not in jail or have an arrest record a mile long is that his little pranks are harmless and traffic laws are pretty loose. I'm just boggled how the cops in Europe are so loose on things, but they have much less crime than the U.S. where policemen tend to be soulless bastards with no sense of humor.
