I've always wondered about your brand name . Now we know! I have a special connection with Dragonflies as well. My Husband was terminal with Cancer. We had him at home with Hospice care. The night before he passed away he slipped into a coma. Our son and daughter were with me. That night we were in and out of the house, wide awake. Our daughter walked out and screamed at us to come out. Right under the front porch light was the biggest Dragonfly we had ever seen. Sitting with it's wings folded up. It stayed with us, in the same position all through the night, until my Husband passed in our arms. When we finally stepped out the front door we all watched as the Dragonfly opened it's wings, paused a second them flew away. Our sign of His transformation and peace. So now when we see one we always know he is near. We always say Dragonfly kisses when we leave each other. Sorry so long winded. Love, hugs and Dragonfly kisses !!
I loved your story about your name 49dragonflies. In numerology 49 stands for new beginnings, inner strength, growth and change. It strongly links with the symbolism of dragonflies. In the Bible it was the last year of doing things the usual way before the Year of Jubilee (50) starts when things change and new beginnings start and restoration begins. What an amazing story about your brand name. I too took office jobs because I didn't think I was good enough to have a creative career. I wish I had listened to my body and soul before it was too late, unfortunately I didn't and had a complete breakdown at 45. I was never able to work again but now I'm retired I have learned to give myself permission to be creative. With the help of you and other beautiful creators I have recovered and I'm so much happier. Aber du hast den Mut bekommen, den es braucht , um sein altes Leben hinter sich zu lassen. You are fortunate you went your passion and at 49, good for you Barbara!! Once a woman has children, it can sometimes dictate the direction of her life. I had a passion, formal schooling and the knowledge for accounting, then had a son born with Cystic fibrosis and his needs demanded alot of my time. I cried a lot too. I still love the arts and have always found my personal time well spent creating and very therapeutic! Yes, I noticed your new logo! I like it much more!! Loving this journal!!💞🤗😊

Such a precious story! I do believe our Creator has a plan for us and will guide us along a path if we listen to it! I also had a strong conviction about my life, and nothing else would work! I was born to be a domestic woman, but my husband was a banker and CPA professional, and my degree was in nursing. I hated having to work outside our home after we had children. So after 16 years of part time I just gave it up for full time MOM/WIFE business.. as 5 boys was a full-time job! I am so thankful I listened to my body and heart. They are all men now in their 40's and 50's with college degrees, amazing wives (3 have celebrated over 25 years married) and amazing grandkids following in their parents' footsteps. It was not easy, but it was SO worth it to listen to our hearts and what God has planned for us! Now at 75, I am resting in my craft room daily knowing it was right..so blessed! Our farm pond has dragonflies..when I swim there, they will land on me, I will remember you next time when I see one!

Some days, it just feels like we will 'never get there' - where ever 'there' is. That craft room, those materials, or that peice of equipment. Or, we won't ever be 'good enough' to start selling what we make - even though others tell us that we should try to. And many of us do indeed stay in jobs that we know - in our heart of hearts - aren't good for our souls. Such a precious story! I do believe our Creator has a plan for us and will guide us along a path if we listen to it! I also had a strong conviction about my life, and nothing else would work! I was born to be a domestic woman, but my husband was a banker and CPA professional, and my degree was in nursing. I hated having to work outside our home after we had children. So after 16 years of part time I just gave it up for full time MOM/WIFE business.. as 5 boys was a full-time job! I am so thankful I listened to my body and heart. They are all men now in their 40's and 50's with college degrees, amazing wives (3 have celebrated over 25 years married) and amazing grandkids following in their parents' footsteps. It was not easy, but it was SO worth it to listen to our hearts and what God has planned for us! Now at 75, I am resting in my craft room daily knowing it was right..so blessed! Our farm pond has dragonflies..when I swim there, they will land on me, I will remember you next time when I see one!

Like you, I should have followed the creative path but was prevented from going to art college by my very controlling father. I am now 53 and having raised 4 children I've finally got enough time to follow my dream of becoming an illustrator! I really identify with your struggle and your inner artist crying to be released.
