- I don't even know what to say still cannot belive that he's gone, my story with Dragon Ball is a bit diferent, when a was a child, I didn't used to like Dragon Ball that much, but when I grew up I gived it a try, and then I understood why Dragon Ball was huge, all the cool moments, all the emotive moments, the concepts, everything!... I can't say anything but THANK YOU AKIRA TORIYAMA, THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING MILLIONS, thank you for inspiring me

Akira Toriyama practically BUILT shonen as we know it today. He inspired so many of our favorite mangaka and their series. Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, MHA, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen would have NEVER existed without him. He is the father of shonen. Rest in peace, legend.🐉

Bro my story was literally the same as yours, I used to not really mind my friends reading Dragon Ball but then when I saw the newer school I moved to had a whole lot more of the series, I gave it a try and loved it so much I'd read it every lunch

i fell off dragon ball a long time ago but it left its mark for sure and i still i look back fondly on the days of original dragon ball and DBZ, watching DB or Dr.Slump on Mangas back in the day with my uncle never failed to bring a smile to my face, and even as i grew older and fell out of it i still appreciated all the masterful techniques he used especially when i got seriously into art, hell the whole reason i got into drawing was seeing how DBZ was made, Akira Toriyama was a king, RIP to the legend, gonna be missed for sure...

Yh. Even though by now it's been a while since the news has been announced sometimes the thought of Dragon Ball comes up to my head then Akira Toriyama pops in. I would be like, "Wow.... it's so weird now," or "Oh man, I really never expected this to happen." It's still hard to accept but Akira Toriyama's legacy and impact on the world will live on.
Also I grew up with Kai back in 2010 so just like you, Dragon Soul was a banger when I was 6 years old. And now I'm 21 years old

I remember preteen me watching an episode of it and immediately being hooked! Then never being able to see another because it was hard to find it and aired at very particular days, dates, and time.
Only few years ago did I watch a good few episodes on a streaming site from the beginning.

It still feels weird and hurts a little when I think about him, remembering that he's really gone and that it's not some rouge employee stunt, or hack, or something.
I still kinda hope he's just taken a dramatic leave from the public eye to enjoy his life without anymore work. Kinda like Goku peacefully living with Chi-Chi and Goten in the forest in solitude, while the rest of the world (except his closest friends and family) think he's in other world.

I can't tell how excited I was that he was working on Dragonball again. This such sad news, he had so much left in him. His character will never be outdated and discarded, they are so engaging and charming. He was a wonderful artist and a true inspiration to young boys around the world. Great man.
