Unlike many other metal bands, I have never taken BIB too seriously. They are group of super talented guys who love trying different, new things and it is awesome. It's like super good caricature music, their power metal isn't something you should take too seriously either. Let's say if this was manowar's new song, I would be dissapointed, but not in this case. I like 90's dance music, I love power metal and 80's synth pop and this is perfect mix of everything. If my purist metalhead friends ask what I think of this song, I must agree with them and hate it just to keep friendship alive, but when I'm alone in my car I will blast this with full volyme, smiling like an idiot. I really love this song and it's fucking awesome!!!

I have to agree, though I don't think there's been any significant change in the band's style. Beast in Black isn't supposed to be grumpy elitist metal band, it's always been a fun band that combines metal with old school rock and pop influences. And I think anyone who is elitist about music is an idiot anyway. Like, fuck restrictions on art. Good music is good music and you're allowed to enjoy it regardless of how much blast beat or shredding it has.

Beast in Black have always had some songs like this, for example, “Crazy, Mad, Insane” from the Berserker album and “Sweet True Lies” on From Hell With Love.
And don’t forget that we’ve only heard 2 tracks from Dark Connection so far, the rest of the album may be super extreme heavy as f*ck power metal! 🤘🏻
I’m also excited as I’ve seen the track listing and there are 2 covers on the album, one is They Don’t Care About Us - Michael Jackson, the other is Battle Hymn - Manowar.
And lol at you two not liking reaction videos, despite being one of the best reaction videos out there. 🙂🤘🏻

They always had songs like this, but now they don't have songs like Zodd and BiB. Which is a shame. Also, songs after the first one became simpler and without spice.

It ain't that those ingredients are new, but by these samples those synth-wave/eurodisco stuff are used more and are more on frame than before. But as said, we shall see how the full album is going to be hear, and then make conclusions.

My thoughts on your reflection: I don't necessarily think you should be worried about them moving away from metal altogether. It'll always be there. That being said, Cyberpunk as a subgenre has ALWAYS had it's look and sound revolving around futuristic themes and electronic sounds. The whole Eurovision sound in this makes complete sense in the context of what this album is based on. Even the synths in Moonlight Randezvous made complete sense in the context of Cyberpunk. I don't think you'll need to worry about their future sounds in the next album.

The song is great but its not cyberpunk ? More like eurodance

    • @livingdeadty
      @livingdeadty 3 роки тому +3

@@lakabaka Cyberpunk is more or less an umbrella term for different mediums. It's not just one sound. The Eurodance style can fall into cyberpunk just as easily as industrial metal can.

How could they move away from metal when this band and Babymetal are more metal than most cringy, "serious" metal bands?
I'd be ready to bet that to most of you metal elitists Verjnuarmu is pop.

The thing is while this songs is way more electronic then all other songs ot still has that underlying metalish guitar and drums in the background. And yannis vocals still fall into that rougher metal region
I think its a very nice mix of genres and definitely still fittong the identity of this band

  • @DirtyMardi

90’s eurodance combined with metal, sure it’s not for everyone, but i’m glad that they do something different and not generic powermetal. I really like this song although I did like the previous single more. BiB and Brothers of Metal are my go-tos nowadays.

I'm siding with Antonio on this one. If you have fun, you should not feel guilty or have any regrets about "your band" changing style. Truth is I was never some "purist metalhead". I was born in 86 and I was born and raised in 90s Europe. Well, guess what, so were these guys. And it shows. 90s in Europe were FULL of pumping eurodance. This song is basically mix of Pandora's song Don't You Know and E-Rotic song "Sexual Madness" with added guitars and Yanis' amazing vocal. I don't even think they rip those songs off, they (or at least Anton) just subconcioussly love it. Plus these guys are some serious nerds in the best way possible. They love their anime, manga and synths. The only thing I'd like for them to see is they should take on keybord player for the live shows. Apart from that, this song is basically tailor-made for huge part of European 90s kids or at least for me :) . I'm heading this December to their third show already (first being held in larger venue, which I'm not really a fan of) and I couldn't be more excited.

I went from listening through the full discography of Tribulation for weeks to listening to this song on heavy rotation since 48h, no shame in shaking up regular patterns and enjoy the moment, there is always room for dark and melancholic times but there should also always be room for not taking everything serious and have fun with a killer 90s eurodance/80s disco anime mash-up in perfection (and the video is pure art, giving me "Flashback"s to "Another World" ;) )

I still want more rap metal as that genre seems to be somewhat rare, something like what Cypress Hill made with their song Rock Superstar back in the days.

As a fan of 80's, 90's and Metal music its a three in one bubble of awesomeness, and I might be the only one but at the end of the music video when they changed to the characters/album cover artwork from the last album I think my smiley grim stayed for the hole bloody day when it was released hahaha.
Not to mention its a 50/50, people either want bands to change it up a bit and experiment or to stay the same, A bit like Powerwolf and hearing so many wish them to spice it up.

► In general, I'm on Pedro's side here and will listen to band anyway, because Anton writes very high quality music - in any genre.
► On the other hand, I would also like more music with genre from the first album.
► But in general - get ready, guys: in the chat, at the premiere of the video, Anton wrote such a thing as that most of all he would like to write a common composition with Dave Rogers! This is Eurobit, if anyone did not know - "DEJA VU", "Space Boy" and others. Metal fans, buy a lot of sedatives! :))

Ok so I wasn't gonna say this but fuck it I can't stop myself.
Post Apocalyptic = A world after a massive natural catastrophe or a global war that has decimated human society where the survivors do their best to live on in the wrecked remains of the world that was. A good example would be the worlds of Fallout and Mad Max.
If I'd call the world in the video anything it would probably be something like Cyberpunk, though that's more of a story genre than anything. Futuristic probably comes closest. A pretty dark and scary futuristic world, but sure. Blade Runner and Cyberpunk 2077 are good examples. There's an old PC game called Syndicate that has similar stuff. Paramilitary forces run by corporations, human robot hybrids, laser weapons etc.
Now with that little tirade out of the way...
    Good reaction ;)

I seriously doubt they are going to go away from the Metal. Anton clearly likes to keep things fresh and doesn't want to have that "1" sound to be known for like Dragonforce. He clearly wants to play to the Cyberpunk theme for this album, they dabbled with it on Crazy, Mad, Insane on the last album, we only have 2 songs for the new album out, with how versatile these guys are, I always expect some of the old, and something new with them. Anton's roots with Battle Beast are metal, You are not going to take the metal out of Anton.

I can only say, In their first album they really showed what they can do. An album to fall in love with. But here they show how you can also destroy everything by using and exaggerating the wrong electronic influences. With something like that you can become the first live band at tomorowland DJ festival but not at a metal festival anymore. Otherwise, the audience will have to go to a metal festival in a Saturday night fever outfit. If the rest of the album is that style I definitely won't buy that album. I find it disappointing, and some may find it a new style. That is possible, but not in metal. maybe in disco or techno but not typical metal. In Belgium we have the wrong party festival, wrong music and wrong clothes at the wrong party, their new music could still fit there.
