    Man, that's awesome to see the wildlife, but no way would I ever get that close to a bear in person. Glad you're crazy enough to do it for us Steve. LOL

    That one bear crossing behind you guys was just a wee bit closer than I'd care to be. Great shots though. Sarah is great with her camera.

    One of my favorite places on Earth👍🏻 Thanks for sharing these...what a thrill to see the bears and a marmot! The momma with cubs could have gotten ugly though...glad all went well

    Glad you got the ID of the bear corrected in the text crawl on the video -- and glad that that bear was apparently very used to humans and didn't freak out that you were that close to it and its cubs. Not sure whether that is a good thing ultimately for humans or the bears. The wool shedding on that mountain goat would make a nice sweater!

      Random Button Pusher I try to identify things as accurately as possible and correct my screw ups. Although some do elude me.

      I imagine there was a bit of an adrenaline rush going on at the time of recording!

    Not sure that was the smartest approach on that bear. And centering yourself between a momma and her Cubs couldve been a near fatal mistake

    • @stevenbaumann8692
      @stevenbaumann8692  3 роки тому

      It wasn’t the smartest. I was right up on her when I spotted her. It was too late by that point so I passed and then stood still. I wasn’t between them. I’m just glad it was a black bear.

      @@cheese8918 I agree. I’m not one to intentionally rile nature. I know better. I was just past the point of no return there.

    YIKES! I've been near black bears, but being that close to a grizzly and cub would make me soil myself.

    Was the squirrel mad? I think he was telling you to stay away from those bear cubs.

      I've done a bit of filming from Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Never saw any bears, but I did catch a hawk, some cardinals, a few deer.

    When we first went camping, after moving from England, my father said 'look, there is a chipmunk'. My mom went running down the dirt road. She wouldn't return until the chipmunk was gone. We found out later that night that since we had only seen pictures of them she thought they were the size of a large dog.
    When she did see one the next day she was surprised, still nervous, but over time she even let them feed out of her hand.
