i know this is really late the feeling of sadness and uplifting has an arabic word and its exactly what you say the word is شجن in english its suppose to sound like shagan in egypt people play the ney(nay is how we say it) around tea in the fields at night and they make the ney (nay) out of any thing really i have seen some one make one of a plastic pipe

I know nothing about the instrument ney but it sounds to me that but are play a different type of ney. can some one enlighten me what types they are playing thanks
one is the arabic nay which you place only on your lips, the other is persian which you place in your teeth. laith plays the arabic etc. there is also the turkish ney which uses a plastic/horn/wood insert on the front where you blow

One is Persian and the other one is Egyptian the difference is the persian one has 6 champers and the Egyptian one has 9 chambers which is sharper and deeper and has 4 sounds the persian only one sounds it sounds like blowing in any plastic pipe , the way the persian Ney being played a little bit disgusting and yucky because they put the hole underneath the tooth which means only the owner of the ney who can touch it and play it Lol but the Egyptian Ney on the lips and the shape of the mouth exactly like a kiss
Persian ney has 5 sounds you are in mistake I am iranian and i play persian and arabic ney both of them have 4 sounds registered and persian one has bam_ e narm and other 4 sounds please study at first and give others your informations
