@@Nodnarb69 I know that and I agree with the comments about it not being race, but I was just commenting on the author's/original commentators pfp hence why I said it was off topic.
This obviously wasn’t about race. A woman was removed from her 1st class seat for a congresswoman, that’s the issue. It seems suspicious that the congresswoman attempted to turn this into a race issue, because that makes it seem like she did have something to do with this woman losing her seat and she tried to cover it up with the subject of racial discrimination. Honestly very troubling
I was thinking exactly the same... With all respect to my dear Afro Americans, but her intentions where obviously malicious, as the complaint was never addressed against her personally, until she involved herself into it on purpose. I mean seriously, she is a congresswomen, we can not give her the benefit of being that stupid, she knew exactly what she was doing there.
I can see that but then again I wonder if the teacher would have shamed a different person. Especially if it wasn't a political figure. The anger should be placed toward the airline for making the decision to do it rather than the person who got the seat. Imo.
@@julieryan8116 It's not the Congresswoman fault imo. Why would she apologize for the mistake of the airline? She didn't delete the woman from their system. Someone working for the airline did that. probably did it by mistake when booting the teacher to a lower class seat. Still these sort of things happen all the time. Its not the person who got the seat fault 🙄 but the airline who allowed it. After the airline realised the error they could have made the correction and given the congresswoman a lower class seat or booked her a different flight but because she is a political figure they valued her good favor over some random woman. Its the airline fault. The congresswoman probably has thousands of air mileage over the teacher. It would have been nice if the congresswoman to have apologize for the teacher misfortune but why would she when the lady was upset and being rude to her by taking her picture to shame her for something that wasn't even her fault.
I can't believe she pulled the black card. It had nothing to do with race. If she had said that "I wasn't aware that as I purchased a flight ticket someone else would be bumped down, I would have refused the seat". She could've done something considering she's a person with public office. But no, she wanted simpathy and pulled the black card. Shame on you!
But the issue is it usually is always about race so that doesn’t really say anything cuz it’s like this Race means everything Cops Military Air ports Stores It’s everywhere and you can’t escape it so it’s understandable why she would think about it as a race thing If you lived every day thinking someone is gonna try and be racist to you you would understand but idk you or your race so I hav no clue But I’m saying don’t be on her for this it’s just instinct to think someone is racist in this day and age
jenzy o I hope she would cuz no one knows tbh she could say one thing and do anything else but it’s always about race age whatever that’s what I meant and your actually pretty chill about it instead if some others who say Ruder things
It's funny how skin colour can be dragged into someone literally taking your seat, a seat you've likely booked well in advance and paid a LOT extra for. They only mention skin colour because it's an easy way of deflecting. That congresswoman knows exactly what she did wrong, so does the airline.
She deserve her money back completely and be given other free tickets for a next flights. SHE PAID 1ST CLASS. It's not like she was moved to the same 1st class she was sent to a cheaper section. What a disgrace.
I booked for economy, they said I wouldn't get a seat at all, then another guy said that we will get out economy seat, we got an economy plus seat like wtf xD
The same thing happened to me with Dallas Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson. I walked up to her and asked if her constituents in the poorest district in Dallas paid for her first class ticket.
What is it called when someone accuses someone of the race card and blatantly ignores what they just said? What kind of "card" is that? We need a name, because I see that pulled on people of color too often. You apparently just ignored the quote at 1:00 and so did the Inside Edition person. He misquoted her at about 1:20. She said, upon reflection, she could only conclude it was probably about race, because she couldn't figure out why she was so hostile towards her. Be fair - anyone in her shoes would think that.
I kinda doubt it? For me its the airline's fault to let the congress woman even have the seat in the first place. They shouldve known its already reserved for some1
Typical politician scum. This proves she knew she willingly took her seat. If she had nothing to do with it she would have been surprised, sympathetic and apologized.
The congresswoman didn't take anything from her and neither did the airline. The woman tried to get a courtesy upgrade to first but someone with higher status with the airline got it instead. This lady was still on that same flight and got to her destination. This happens multiple times a day, every single day and on almost every commercial flight. Nothing happened that wasn't supposed to happen.
Brook One time we flew on United. My autistic brother (around 4 at the time) was playing on his iPad. No one had complained about the volume, but the flight attendant told him to turn it down several times until the volume was all the way off. He started having a fit because the lady told him to turn off his iPad because it was too loud, even after he put headphones in
The issue wasn't because she was an African Woman but because her congresswoman label might have bumped down someone who already had that seat. Very unfair.
The lady was just mad that she bought a first-class ticket and got bumped. She's mad that she's less elite than a black women. Taking pictures, being rude, demanding the other lady get up, involving her career and livelihood. Airlines don't tell you that you bought a ticket that someone else already bought. The congresswoman had literally no way of knowing. I doubt the white lady would have acted the same way is her seat was taken by an old white congressman. Yes she still would have been mad but she would not have felt as entitled or embolden to expect the congressmen to get up and relocate to the back of the plane. The women's actions were messed up and immature. She shouldn't have slandered the congresswoman and instead worked something out with the flight attendant. From the Congress woman's point of view, she's minding her own business and a white woman comes up to her causing a scene demanding he move to the back of the plane... when she paid for her ticket and had every right to be there as well. Her words and actions wreak of entitlement and superiority... So yah, I get that from the congresswoman's perspective that it seems like a race thing.
@@DivineAwareness88 She never said that, she said that her problem was not with the congresswoman but with United. She proly took the photo to demonstrate the Airline indeed gave someone else, with more power and contacts, her seat as proof for a possible lawsuit to get her money back.

United has a history of bumping first class passengers. On one flight, after bumping an economy passenger completely off the jet - they asked a man inPolaris, to collect his belongings and move to the rear of the plane. The new Polaris passenger was a Premier 1K Mileage Plus (level loyalty). That was pretty shocking.
lol racism?! Its probably more likely the Congressman wanted a first class flight and United said they don't have any seats and she desperately needed to go so the flight probably pick someone at random. Great job UNITED again
"Upon reflection, because I was an African American woman" You mean after you thought about it you saw an opportunity to use racism to your advantage... Come on
I can’t believe she jumped to that conclusion. The congresswoman obviously didn’t buy that seat. She was bumped up to that seat from her economy seat & she knew she was being bumped up. Even if she didn’t know she was wiping out someone’s already-paid ticket, she still should’ve been on the side of the woman who lost her seat-not pull the race card.
iBeFloe It is very, very well known in Washington that, if this monster died instantly of a massive heart attack, numerous people of differing positions, races and ideologies would cry themselves to sleep at the thought that she didn’t suffer.
She had the boarding PASS! that means her ticket existed until 24 hours before the flight and existed for her to get through security. Which means it got deleted within the last few hours before the flight. The congress woman showed up to a flight for a last minute 1st class ticket? Who shows up to an airport and buys 1st class on the next flight out? This is not possible to be this mistaken. They should review the logs of the people at the desk, and then fire whomever did this and report it to the police as removing someone already past security is a federal crime, as it is tampering with federal documents.
I know I'm three years late, but there is nothing racist about this. If I paid for a first class ticket and was bumped to coach, I would be angry. If anything I would want the difference paid back for a coach seat.
There's so much racism out there. Why call racism when she had all the power in this instance. This congresswoman abused her power. Not ok. She should have gave the seat back and kept her apology for the people She put in this mess.

I would of sued her for theft of my property . You see that seat was paid for by the customer and she had ever right to that property . Taking it away was an infringement on the customers freedom to chose . A crime was committed . Charges to the woman would still be on her credit card and that is fraud .
@@gordonnadolni8727 It's not theft of property. It is, at best, failure by the airline to deliver a service. It is not your property since you have absolutely no legal rights (as far as it being your property) over that seat, it's not yours. You just pay to use it.

Richard Alexander she also paid for that seat so why should she move out? According to you, If you paid for a 3 bedroom hotel room for your family and on the evening some lady come knocking on your door because you "stole" her place and want you to take the studio she was given, would you pack up your family's stuff and leave ? The problem is with united. If she had an issue she shouldn't have taken the economy seat in the first place.
Minniemoo247: I agree the problem was with United, but I understood the original passenger had been told she wasn't in the system, (a lie), and was "given" a coach seat as though that was her only choice, even though she's paid for 1st class. That woman later found the congress woman sitting in what she thought was her seat. What I said was the congress woman, if she had an ounce of class, would/should/could have taken the coach seat when she found out United had screwed over a legitimate customer that had a confirmed seat that was given to her because of her status.
Richard Alexander it's not the Congress women to be accountable for. They both costumers who both paid. the woman still agree to go to economy and got reimburse the difference too. Then why start problems with the one who still paid for it? She was no longer a first class once she got that economy boarding pass.
Minniemoo247: This woman had a confirmed ticket, and got bumped according to this. Looks like United Airlines tricked her into taking a coach seat in order to accommodate a political hack. Seriously! This congresswoman should have known this incident did not call for the race card at all and, in fact, bringing in her race would only make HER and the entire African American community look bad. I you must use the race card, you need to pick your battles...
Agreed 100% but she probably didn’t have anything to do with this, as in someone else, like a flight attendant or an airline official did this.
She should've just said she didn't know and apologize for it or take responsibility if she does know
I'm black and I agree with you. This has nothing to do with race.
It’s really disgusting in terms of this being the mentality in large businesses now. What is the point of having a reservation if this is the norm?
If I pay for a first class seat, I'm sitting in it. SMH!!!
Tamara Weber: So, you're a member of congress? "This is my seat". That's what the Chinese doctor said as United Airlines had him dragged off the airplane.
Boom but I'm not going to take someone's seat. Not apologize
NaturelDeese: Sure, but I'd apologize for what the airline did, and exchange seats with the lady that booked the flight if I found I had been given a first class seat because of my status.
Tamara Weber i bet you wont
Tamara Weber Same they'll have to call the police if they goin kick me out y'all air line people IF YOU TOUCH YOUR GOING TO REGRET CAUSE OOF. I dont pay money to get kicked off a seat lol😃

Who is the bully here? United is responsible.

But if it happened to any other race it would be
The Congress woman could have apologized and switched seats but instead pulled the race card. The entitlement hurts my head.
Politicians treating regular citizens like second class citizens. She should have never played the race card.

What a disgrace.

kiwi plurrr The I'm Asian and I never use the race card unless ya know, they're actually being racist.
I hated the fact that congresswoman had to use the race card, that really shines us African-Americans in a bad light
I'm so confused about why people use the race card. it never really makes scence. especially when it has nothing to do with your race
kiwi plurrr i think it’s mostly African Americans because they’re overreaching what the meaning of civil rights is. Asians only use the race card when they’re denied from medical school and top universities :/
Why she brought race into this tf???SHE PAID FOR HER SEAT SO SHE WANTED HER SEAT
jennifersykes5 Ikr it was Irrelevant asf
Black POC wanna be victims of everything and feel like the world owes em
なな あい No. Both ladies were dumb. She was stupid to accept United's offer to be put in economy, got that economy boarding pass, get reimbursed the difference between both placed. Then go create drama with the Congress women who is also a costumer who didn't know of the issue. If it really bothered her to be put in economy, she would have started drama with United and not have accepted that economy ticket nor her money back. She was no longer a first class passenger when she got into that plane. And the Congress women shouldn't have reacted like a victim. They both acted like 13 years old. Both stupid
jennifersykes5 because black people always bring race into everything
Andrew Clayton shut up white boy
Nice....so she tried to pull the race card. Very nice. I hate people like that.
ravenger 101 Aren’t we all getting sick of it? How about acting like a grown-up, Shirley? From here to eternity it’s only Alaska Airlines for me.
I was thinking that about the dao incident.
ravenger 101 and she’s a congresswoman of all people
If it was about racism the first class woman would’ve outright say it. Most racist people love to get to the point asap
That is jackson Lee's M. O.
Thankfully for the teacher, United flight attendants didn't call the Houston airport cops to come and rip her out of her seat, smashing her head into an armrest in the process and breaking her nose and drag her off the flight bruised and bleeding. That would never happen, right?
Wow she probably payed a lot from those ticket and she had to go back they couldn’t even give her another first class ticket because a lot of people don’t have enough money for first class leaving plenty of room
Jet K
No she paid a lot of money for the first class ticket but she got reimburse the difference when she was reassigned to economy so she wasn't a first class passenger when she got into that plane. If she was that bothered about her situation, she would have started drama with United.
Minniemoo247 and what do you think happened to the chinese guy when he did that?
I hate when people who get blamed for something that has nothing to do with race bring up the race card it’s so annoying
How is it that a race card is even in the deck???
Star Baby it’s supposed to be a banned card lol
@@abeldelatorre6933 It shouldn't even have printed lol
Who brought up the race card? I don’t know why everybody in this comment section talking about race when I had nothing to do about that “ it’s not about race” like we know who said it was?
Like gorge death
I’m late, but Congresswoman Jackson-Lee, you were wrong to bring race into this. And, you missed an opportunity to gain the trust and votes of educators in your state.
SMH. 🤦🏾♀️
Bruh, you're really late lol
Very wrong
I was expecting more from her tbh I was like she is going to have a good response. But this like anyone would say this.
@@itsukiii3903 Blame UA-cam. Don't they send YOU any 15yr old clips lol?🤣🤣🤣🤣😉

Things like that make me think if it’s not time again for some real racism …
Honestly, my hate was aimed at the air company until that congress woman played the race card. Now they both feel my wrath of negative thinking😈
You play wow?
She ruined me for a life for the race card
Yoni Cooper world of Warcraft lol
But that was still racist for her
The fact that the Congress woman pulled the race card is ridiculous. It’s not because of color, but because they saw her as most important and cancelled the teacher’s reservation of a seat without notice
they play the card because people have given it power
Well if she immediately turns to the race card…then her decisions as a congresswoman should be looked into also..
I'm sure that she uses the race card daily

When you get a free 1st Class seat and act like the victim.
Oh my God thats discusting
@Anonymous 123 Did you even watch the video

Black person: your rasict
Sry but it kinda true.
She bought the seat with good money and was defrauded out of it... How is she Not a victim? Because you may not be able to afford it doesn't change reality
Idiot 😝
An apology is not anything though - I’d hope they refunded her and given her a free first class ticket?
United Airlines: Sorry Congresswoman Jackson the flight is full and we will not bump another passenger for you.
Ms Jackson: Is it cause im black.
No your seat was bumped so congresswoman could make it to DC to vote on your next stimmy check.
@@iy4563 when you buy those seats its guaranteeing you will get those seats. She should not be getting special privileges because of her title she could have gone to the lower seats.
@@fightmeha3202 lol that was a joke.If I'm up in the air with my life in the hands of 2 men behind the wheel last thing I'ma be worrying or caring about is where I'm sitting.Hell I'ma be praying I make it back down in one piece.Guess that explains why I drive everywhere.
If I was a United Airlines rep, I'd be like:
*"I'm sorry, Ms. Jackson. Wooooo! I am for reeeeal!"*
That is a poor excuse for a congressman. Oh poor me I screwed someone over and poor me. She could have said the airline was wrong for what they did but no she plays the race card instead. Great representation Texas.
Didn’t the airline reach out to her and didn’t she even go on tv over a seat
Yes it’s expensive but it’s a seat an object
Not a big deal
And I bet if the Congress woman was white and the lady was black all of you would be like oh whatever it’s a seat boohoo blah blah like it is everytime
Racism is alive and well know the present before you post on UA-cam do you know Rosa parks

Do you know how many people have died for no reason

As a black person I'm disgusted she's pulling out the race card. It's obviously an issue of power. Geez
Double E: ...and if the congresswoman had some class she would have exchanged her first class seat for the coach plus seat, and apologized for the airline's poor handling of the situation. For all we know she might not have even known how it was that her seat had become available.
Minniemoo247: I agree the problem was with United, but I understood the original passenger had been told she wasn't in the system, (a lie), and was
"given" a coach seat as though that was her only choice, even though she's paid for 1st class.
At the point where the congresswoman found out what had happened she had the opportunity to put things right...but she didn't.
The congresswoman should've swapped seats with the teacher. This solution isn't rocket science.
It would've been the decent thing to do, and she would've received 'a standing ovation'.
Unfortunately she chose to do the opposite - the race card ...
You could be white, Black, blue, yellow, green, Asian, or Indian...I could care less.. u gonna MOVE! it's not a matterer of race God! Y does everyone pull the race card? it's annoying..it was neither of their faults it was the airlines fault (unless Ms.congress lady is lying 😑)
Issa Minni Here agreed
She’s in Congress. Democrat or republican they’re politicians, their job is to lie to the public.
I agree she knew she was a Congress woman
it's not pull the race card cause if u live in america black ppl get treated really bad but there is sometimes when the littlest things get looked at in a racist way when it isnt racist
girlthatwont sayhername I live in America too fool 😂 everyone gets treated the same unless you're rich or famous
As a person who has a bad back and needs to have a more comfortable seat this would’ve ruined my entire trip. The airline is wrong and needs to give up some free first class tickets to this woman. The Congress woman has some nerve and an air of entitlement. Vote her out please!
Look at her voting record. She's a POS. That is not a "Point of Sale"!
i almost cried of laughter when she pulled the race card
LMAO. Your kind is really something.
Now you know how white people feel.
You’re an idiot
Lamo
I am a black woman and I don't think it had anything to do with race!! It is simply about the woman wanting to have the seat that she paid for.
