I think James is in the right, I do agree that he overreacted however. I’m no Jake fan but seeing how Tom was running away from him the entire time I can understand it, but also.. really? Aiden and Tom literally just met. (Of course we will just have to wait and see if anything happens between them, I hope it doesn’t go in that direction)

@@AugustToonz Jake brought it up in a casual manner and James fired back with the insults. He only overreacted a teeny bit in my personal opinion because everything he said was true. Hes right about Jakes trust issues and hes in the right to defend Aiden. People say he overreacted mainly because of the insults
@itsuki6 I think the reason why James got so mad Like that was because not only cause Jake was practically accusing his boyfriend of cheating him but also because Jake barley if at all knew Aiden if at all at that point and he was practically was accusing him of cheating on James with Tom with zero proof
Tbh, I'm totally with James here. Jake was projecting his insecurities on James and Aiden's relationship, and I think that at least in part, Jake envies them because James didn't immediately believe the implications that Aiden was cheating like Jake would if he was in the same position lmao. Like, okay, Jake has his traumas, but that's no justification to try to poison other people's relationships.
In any case, this discussion provided one of the funniest lines of the episode, when James is in the confessional like
"Have they seen what he posts, crying about not finding true love? Hashtag thirsty" 💀🤣

I honestly see both sides. I think it was Jake’s wording that through James off.
I can see why James would be upset with the way Jake worded things as you can tell James heavily trusts Aiden and doesn’t want anyone making negative assumptions.
However Jake’s feelings and reasonings are valid based off the way Tom has been treating Jake. However, I did not appreciate James using delusional as an insult. Especially considering Jake’s past, Jake can’t help it.
And at least Jake was nice about it. I don’t blame James for getting upset and telling Jake off, especially when the game just started. I think poor wording and lack of understanding each other’s past and what they’ve gone through was the huge reason why this happened.
I bet if they knew each other better and knew of each other’s past and if Jake has better wording as well as waiting until maybe the next game or so, things could have gone differently.
Also I want to add on, Jake was more accusing Tom and less Aiden. But since Tom was avoiding Jake, he wanted to try and get to the bottom of it through Aiden. However I won’t lie, Jake was projecting his insecurities onto James and Aiden, but it is weird how close Tom got with Aiden so fast and how he is quick to defend Aiden and praise him yet not defend and praise anyone else like Gabby, Lake, or Tess for their accomplishments?
Honestly Tom is the real issue here.

Tbh I think James overreacted. Jake was very naive but James deffo overreacted. I mean, Jake was just asking (trying not to cause drama) and Jake has trauma from 3:08. James just reacted too early and maybe they could’ve just talked him out of it.

Just because a character has trauma doesn’t mean that their not to blame, I mean if Jake was just asking he wouldn’t have continued the fight
James didn’t overreact because he has trust in Aiden and personally it’s perfectly reasonable to defend someone who clearly wouldn’t do that
Nah, james didn't overreact. He was very calm for most of it. In fact, he only started getting hostile when Jake insulted him first.
Jake started calm and respectful. James escalated it, so Jake had a right to get mad back.

@@AugustToonzwhile I 100% agree James’ feelings are valid, Jake didn’t accuse Aiden of cheating at all. He was just worried about how Tom was getting so close to Aiden despite the game just starting and considering Jake and Tom’s past.
Like I said before, James’ feelings are 100% valid and he isn’t wrong for being upset at Jake, but Jake had innocent intentions.
He was less accusing Aiden and more accusing Tom. He didn’t get upset until after their fight.

He was like “well, you should have a talk to your boyfriend about that because it is suspicious.” I would be mad if someone said that to me. He might have at first asked about how he saw Tom and Aiden getting close, but then after he made that comment, I knew Jake f*cked up. He was basically implying that Aiden was cheating on him. It doesn’t help that he even told the cameras “now Aiden knows how it feels to lose someone close to you”. So yeah, I believe he meant it as Aiden is cheating on you. I get where you are coming from though. It could be possible that he had to purest intentions when talking to James. Just how he worded things were terrible.
@@LucyRose2024 Yeah you’re right. It was definitely his wording and the timing. The game just started and Jake’s anxiety got the best of him. So I 100% see James’ perspective and his feelings were valid and rational. Jake definitely panicked though when James basically told him what he thought Jake was trying to say.
I just think Jake’s horrible wording and timing made everything go south.

Tom on the other hand pushes Jake away anytime Jake tries to interact with him, also in episode 4 of All-Stars Tom gives out to Jake for pushing Aiden during the challenge, however pushing isn’t against the rules, and it’s also very hypocritical of Tom to say this since he did the same to Grett minutes before, and he also pushed Jake during the episode 2 challenge.
They don’t need to get back together, they just need to talk.

I know both had their reasons in the argument but jake did NOT have to vote him out for it, if he was suggesting that aiden is cheating on James then he would think that james is being victimized and they would be on the same boat.

I mean, Jake is being paranoid, but James couldve handled it much better - Jake was quite pacific towards James himself. James ends up throwing away his vote and get kicked out. Now if Jake plays his cards right he has full control of the tribe lmao. Wrong or not, Jake positioned himself rlly well from a game sense (considering his relationship with Ashley, Fiore's desperation for an alliance and the deal Miriam, Alec and Fiore had made).
Spoilers for the most recent ep, obviously that last part doesnt matter anymore so Fiore might turn on Jake now, but at least at the time Jake himself up as the center of the tribe and that was really impressive. Meanwhile James just proved once and for all that he rlly cant navigate social play and his season was a stroke of luck + heavy lifting from Aiden lol.
The very last part of your paragraph I wish I could sign, stamp, and display for all _Disventure Camp_ fans to see. Really, I think that Jake and James are both horrible social players in different ways. Both let their emotions drive them rather than their brains. But at least Jake understands strategy better than James does (and I don't even _like_ Jake). Jake understands the importance of allies, hence him having Ashley and knowing when to pull in Fiore, as well as when to let her go. Going back to season two, James had a willing, ready-made ally in Karol and completely threw her under the bus and got her voted out for literally _no good reason_ at all, showing that he doesn't understand strategy the way that he thinks that he does. (If not for Rosa swapping teams with Yul, I firmly believe that he would've been the next one to go on his team just for being so unpredictable.) He got literally carried through that season by his alliance with Aiden, Rosa, Lake, and Riya, and then got lucky at several points in the game.
Truthfully, I don't like Jake or James. I'm probably one of the few who's never liked James and has never bought his relationship with Aiden. (I felt like he got too creepily handsy with him and all up in his personal space when Aiden clearly didn't consent to it.) But in this case, while I think that James was technically in the right in regards to the blowup, Jake still came out on top strategically. Because he knew the importance of alliances, while James clearly did not.
I’m sorry but no. Jake was completely in the wrong here. He was like, “oh you should talk to your boyfriend because I see he has been getting really close to Tom”. Basically saying that he is a cheater. James had tried to stay calm at first, but told him to be careful about what he is suggesting. Honestly I might have said that too. He was not yelling at Jake, just that he needs to keep his opinions to himself and stay out of their relationship. That’s when Jake decided to get mad at him adding fuel to the fire. James did use a strict tone with Jake at first, but did he just go attacking him or anything? No. That was Jake. Honestly Jake should have expected James to defend his boyfriend in the first place when going up to speak about this with him. He should have known the consequences. Because Jake is too petty to get brought down by James he decides to vote him out. The kicker is when he mentioned to the camera “now Aiden will know how it feels to lose someone close to you”. Even before the first, I bet Jake would have done this to throw back at Aiden. Jake only cares about what he sees in front of him and his preconceived notions. He does not ever consider any other possibility of the situation in front of him. I agree with James, he is delusional. I commend he wants to make up with Tom, but he has not changed at all, reverting back to his old ways, which is sad because I wanted to root for him and see him become a better person and make up with Tom. But I doubt that is ever going to happen now. Not only because of Jake’s attitude, but also because when Tom and Aiden find out about this, it is not going to be pretty. Tom is going to be furious and especially Aiden. I would have done the same thing as James. I would have defended my boyfriend as well. I would be offended if anyone told me something like that, especially if I am not close to that person who told me. You better have evidence if you are going to back it up. I would probably take it more into consideration if the person was a super close friend or family member of mine (who knows about the relationship and knows both parties well). But, Jake knows nothing about James and Aiden’s relationship nor who they are as people. So I would be insulted as well if Jake came up to me and said that. James did nothing wrong except defend his boyfriend. Jake, had trust issues and needs to learn about seeing things from other perspectives and knowing that sometimes what you think is true might actually be wrong. It seems that Jake has some insecurities. I understand that and it is hard to deal with, that never makes it ok to try and trash someone else’s relationship (romantic or friendship wise). If you are jealous, fine that is a reasonable emotion, just don’t ruin other peoples happiness because of your jealousy and selfishness. I have dealt with insecurities and jealousy, but I would have never have acted the way he did. I’m just saying the feelings might be valid, just he needs to learn a new way to deal with it instead of hurting other people.

In my opinion, Jake had no right to accuse Aiden of cheating just because he was getting along with Tom, people are allowed to have friends of whatever gender they're attracted to even if they're in a relationship. Tom is allowed to have male friends even though he's gay and so is Aiden. Plus them talking and getting along doesn't automatically mean they're cheating. Plus Tom hasn't even spoken to Jake since their season ended, which was two years ago, so Jake should've been able to move on with his life, because Tom refusing to talk to him for two years should tell him everything he needed to know
Alec was the one to make jake think that and at first jake only thought they were friends but until Alec made him think that something else was going on he didn't know what to but he atleast tried to talk to James in a calm civil conversation but both of them let their emotions get the better of them and James knew he was going through some issues so he should have been more understanding to jake

My opinion of the situation is that while Jake had only the best of intentions when he approached James, he still should've worded things more carefully. James did get a bit hostile, but I can see why he did. But really, his only fault in this whole thing was that he was unaware of how sometimes (well, very often, actually), Jake needs to be treated with kid gloves.
I personally believe that people who 100% side with James most definitely had never had an insecurity used against them in a way similar to Jakes, Id say that I'm about 65/35 in favor of Jake, as I feel if James didn't become hostile so quickly, Jake could've elaborated a bit more about how he got the idea that Tom and Aiden became close quickly, as to why Jake didn't do it off the bat is up to interpretation. In addition, Jake made it known that he still has it bad for Tom (crushing on Tom), I feel like If James used a tad more common sense, It would've been clear that this convo spark attempt was in no way out of malicious intent
Everyone keeps saying that James was being hostile but literally the first thing he said to Jake after he started getting “Hostile” was “ *RESPECTFULLY* you don’t know Aiden”. Pretty sure he was being pretty respectful about it and then Jake had to be all “ARE YOU BLIND!?”(Which I find ironic seeing how he’s the first one to say something super harsh for literally no reason and then people are blind to see that)
Even if Tom does make a move on Aiden at some point James was definitely right at the time.

If anyone’s to blame I think it’s Tom he ghosted both Jake and Miriam aswell and when Jake tries to talk things out Tom pushes him away like if you don’t want to reconnect fine but atleast tell the man so he can move in since he wants to hear it from Tom and not other people like in season 1 not to mention Tom seems to be getting a little too buddy buddy with Aiden who flat out has a boyfriend it’s pretty public knowledge so he’s ghosted Miriam who was his friend ignores Jake who’s waiting for him to clear things up of whether they can reconnect or not and seems to be going for a taken boy forget who’s at fault between James and Jake cause it all stems from toms refusal to be an adult and settle things with Jake once and for all
