Anyone else feel as if bringing Marucho back as a main brawler was a mistake? They should have brought back either Runo or Alice. It seems more in character for Runo to follow Dan through the portal, and a rivalry between Runo and Mira could have been really interesting. Also, if they kept Baron (for whatever reason) then seeing her reaction to finding out Baron had lost Tigrerra would have been really interesting. Or, if they brought back Alice, then we could see a Masquerade vs. Spectra battle, as well as a sort of "loss of innocence" type thing for her. It would fit well with her character, since it would cause her to get more of an understanding of the world, and therefore make her more compassionate. Rather than keeping her really naive. Also, when Shun came back, that could produce some nice fan service moments between them. If nothing else, bringing one of them back would possibly eliminate either Ace or Baron, which is also a nice idea. Just sayin'.

+EXOizBÆ The issue is I believe that Marucho had money which basically eliminated any need for use of logic. Like, how can they just afford to fly to [X] location? Marucho is rich... Shun would have been a better option however they most likely kept him because he was the 'cool silent' type character that everyone seems to fall in love with. It would have been nicer for us fans to see another familiar face, but for most kids mindlessly enjoying the show once and then forgetting about it, will show better results with the cool characters, or more interesting characters I should say.
I appreciate that the ancient warriors do the mysterious godlike figures thing while being significantly more active then you usually expect them to be. Like in just this episode they’re like ok the local resistance are getting their asses beat and our best warriors have fallen we need to do something about it. Later drago gets captured Apollinair goes to help Dan get him back. They’re challenged for there attribute energies personally show up for the challenge and when it’s bleak bestow their powers on to 6 worthy champions it’s good shit.
