Dynamic pricing is where they put the price up to start with mate and then lower it the closer it gets to the pick up time. They do it all the time at the train station in Leeds and it goes up to £8 sometimes
MASSIVE SCAM. No way that's over 12 quid.
Dynamic pricing means it goes up or down in price if it becomes more or less popular . That’s what happened with the Oasis tickets, they increased in price as more people tried to buy them.
I work for a Swedish food company, our 2 good 2 go bag is £2, you can get meatballs cake drinks fish salmon cod etc

As the person serving you in the cafe let me explain the pricing.
£2.89 for the pan au choc and pan au raisin.
£2.59 for the croissant
Then £1.39 for the twirls.
I think you will find that is £12.54.

Good girl. He knew exactly what he was doing when he made the visit. He generates jeopardy and sensation out of nothing, hoping no-one will see through it.
He is just using the TGTG app to make money on youtube like many other people do. He failed to understand dynamic pricing despite it being clearly explained on the app and is trying to make it as controversial as possible so more people comment and like the video because that makes him more money.
The main reason these videos get high view counts is because this type of video allows people to see what different retailers put in TGTG bags before purchasing from them themselves. Most people are far less critical.
People who cannot afford to buy things like this full price do appreciate the TGTG bags as it means they can afford things they consider to be luxuries.
Dynamic pricing in never popular. In theory it means the retailer makes more money as it is essentially staggered reductions as is done instore in most grocery shops but most TGTG users opt for the fixed price bags and the ones using dynamic pricing are left unsold and the food goes to waste. TGTG get their £1.09 fee for each sold bag either way so they don't really care which method the retailer chooses to use.
Wise words. Unusual on this channel. Hope the seagulls appreciated the food.

Took the plunge a few weeks ago and got a 12 sheet too good to go from a chippy.
Said it was 25 sheets worth, omg 😱 more like 250 sheets, 3 large fish roes sausages saveloys even Mr Deano favs two pies and enough chips 🍟 to feed the household cavalry
Great quality as well, took us 4 days to get through and even then had to throw stuff away.

Dynamic pricing…The longer you leave it, the cheaper it gets. But you run the risk of them selling out.

I havent used them to good to go bags for years as i was scammed. Bought a load of what were described cakes and pastries and bread. It wasnt cheap. What i got was a load of very stale unedible bread. Not used the app since.

A Twirl is a quid in the supermarket these days, so at a train station it'll easily be at least £1.50. As for pastries, you're probably looking at at least £2.50 each minimum.
AS TGTG has got more popular ive found that 50% of the business's have reduced the amount of food they give out, its very hit and miss . Even Greggs depends on branch to branch . High end cafe/bakery's are the worst because as u found out they sell such overpriced food at full price
The price quoted i.e £12.60 is their value and as pumpkin is in the train station the pastries are like 2.50 -3.50 so to them what your getting in the bag is worth £12.60, next time as you have learned about dynamic pricing on certain shops just wait until they go down to like £2.29

Tesco Cinnamon Bun £0.95... Tesco All Butter Pain Au Chocolat 2 Pack £1.65... Tesco Cadbury Twirl Chocolate Bars 4 Pack £1.75... Tesco All Butter Chocolate Croissant 2 Pack £1.65... Total £6.00... Subtract £1.65 for the extra Chocolate Croissant and the extra Pain Au Chocolat in each twin pack... And subtract £0.43 for the extra Cadbury Twirl Chocolate Bar... Subtracted total of £2.08... Leaving a balance of £3.92... That's what you could've bought these items for fresh from Tesco... Not items that would've been binned because they were almost out of date... So £5.69 was an outrageous price to pay Deano... This was a total rip-off pal... You would've been better off buying the homeless guy outside of Abingdon Barbecue... A Hot Roast Pork Sandwich... It’s not like for like as that was a full sized Twirl and they’re 85p at Tesco. So more like £5.15 at Tesco for the same thing, and you are forgetting that this is a train station so their rates are far higher and you can expect to be more expensive. The pastries alone are £2.89 there, so I think he clearly got £12 worth - I reckon the twirls alone would be at least a quid fifty. He should be careful using words like “scammed” in that event as Pumpkin might come after him

We get them all the time,with teenagers they come in handy.
Some are being really sneaky at the moment. you're supposed to get the amount worth at the top say £10 for the lower price you pay say £3
What some are doing is giving is not even giving you say £3 worth when you are paying £5.
The worse I've had was 3 dented tins of plum tomartoes from a very exspensive shop. I paid £8 it was supposed to be £20 worth.

It would be difficult to say 'they saw you coming' as you bought it voluntarily. Knock up your own butties up at home. For 12 quid you could be noshing ham off the bone with finest mustard on buttered sourdough and still have change for a posh coffee.
Hey Deano. You can complain to TGTG that the retail value doesn't match the bag. They'll investigate and refund you if they agree.
Unfortunately there are some shops/restaurants that use TGTG to top up their income rather than give you end of day stuff. I complained about a restaurant I did TGTG with where I was meant to get soups, stews, steaks etc worth £12. I paid £4.99 and got a loaf of bread! I was refunded.
They won't agree though, it was at a train station.
Report it to Too Good To Go immediately. They will probably refund you. I don't think it is TGTG doing the dynamic pricing, it is the owners of the participant outlets, but I might be wrong. If you find out, can you post the answer here by any chance. If it is TGTG doing this, then my view of them will go down greatly. Heck, you even gave the shop assistant enough info, and the fact that Cadee was filming it, for her to decide that she should have loaded up more than you got. And no, it wasn't in any way worth £12. I am sorry you had your leg lifted there as we say in York.

TGTG give companies 2 options.
First is fixed price which most TGTG users prefer.
A more recent option is dynamic pricing which simulates what most grocery shops and supermarkets do instore where they start with a small reduction then make further reductions throughout the day. The price starts higher and goes down over time until it reaches the cut off point for selling the bag. Some people pay a higher price as they are scared of missing out others ignore those companies using dynamic pricing and look for alternatives at fixed prices.
Whichever pricing option the company chooses to use £1.09 goes to TGTG and the rest goes to the company selling the bag.
TGTG offer 2 pricing options.
The first is a fixed price.
The second is dynamic pricing which is supposed to act like the staggered reductions many grocery shops and supermarkets offer, a small discount at first bigger reductions later in the day if it has not sold.
Either way TGTG take £1.09 the rest goes to the retailer.
Dynamic pricing is unpopular some people pay over the odds due to fear of missing out but most look elsewhere for similar items at fixed prices and ignore all the companies using dynamic pricing.

That's definitely one that's strictly for the birds! When you've used the app for a while you get to know where you'll get a good deal locally. When out and about you take a chance but that's the fun of the game!

The bags definitely do vary and you definitely didn’t get your moneys worth. The pastries are probably £3 tbh hence the twirls thrown in. I got one from booths in the Lake District in October. It had 2 lovely lemon loaves but 3 loaves of bread!! The seagulls in Morecambe got the gluten free loaf 😂

Pumpkin are a station buffet and the £12 is probably right. Dynamic pricing is what it is. I'm sure that's not news to anybody and they wouldn't have ordered it. Mate it’s a train station. They’re all overpriced so you probably did get a good deal in terms of if you were a commuter looking for a cheaper meal. I tried a train station deal and it was much the same, but you were really not scammed in terms of train station prices - even at Tesco a full sized Twirl would be nearly a quid, and -pastries are easily 2.50 each at the station. Best bet is to stay away from most train station and service stations TGTG bags.
