Boy oh boy! I am 63 and I started premenopausal symptoms at 46! I would get hot flashes and sweating like I had run a marathon. I had UTI all the time, depression, severe anxiety, weight gain, headaches, dry skin, thinning hair and lots of weight gain around the belly. I Made a lot of changes in my life in order to make myself feel better. One of the best things one can do is take better care of yourself, eating healthier meals, walking and yoga. This is what has helped me cope. I still get hot flashes, especially if I fall off the wagon. Thank you for this video. It will help so many that suffer in silence. 😊
Thank you so much for sharing....eating healthy makes a huge difference...if I eat poorly for a few meals...it automatically ramps up the menopause symptoms...
So good to know there is another 46 yr old. I know you mentioned you were older now. Going through most of everything listed. Yes the anxiety, I forgot to mention that in my comment. I have never suffered from anxiety and I hate it. Thank you for your recommendations.
Thank you! I'm 48 and have been going through horrible symptoms. I actually thought that I had early onset dementia. I now take 5 mg of Estradiol and it's changing my life. We are not alone! Xo! #womensupportingwomen
I’m 51 years young and I’m entering my peri with no knowledge of what’s to come... true story. My mother never talk to me about anything because it’s a taboo subject. When I was young she never talked to me about puberty, sex or menopause. Everything I had to figure out as it was happening and each experience I was terrified. I didn’t know there was a peri menopause till it started happening to me last year. I’ve reaching out to a few of my seasoned lady friends and my daughter in law’s mother asking them questions but I’m still in the dark about a lot of things. Your video is a beacon of love for me. While I’m still in the dark and clueless of my body, you gave me SO much information. You have nnnnnnnnnno idea how much it means you sharing your experiences when my own mother NEVER took the time or even cared to share with me. I sincerely thank you Tammy from the bottom of my heart. Though you never had children of your own just know I take to my heart as a daughter your motherly wisdom. For a few years now I’ve followed you and your videos have helped me tremendously on how to take better care of myself when my mother never gave that to me. I love and adore you Tammy🌹❤️. Besos💋💋💋
Sweet Nightmares, You told my story with every word you wrote. Every single word. I'm 55 and thought I was the only one left on the planet who has grown up embarrassingly clueless and learning everything on my own because my mother never told me about anything. I haven't had parents or in-laws for many years now so, thanks to the internet and wonderful people like Tammy who share their personal stories, I'm still learning everything on my own - including the fact that I'm not alone. I'm so glad I read your comment and thank you so much for sharing.
I just bought a weighted blanket and I think it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. I got mine from Amazon. I think it can help anyone who is dealing with a broad range of conditions... thanks for the overview on menopause. My heartburn is terrible. It goes away on a low carb- higher good fat and protein diet. Low dairy. Oh well- like you said, I am happy to be alive and breathing.
For heartburn add a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (Organic & with the mother if possible) to a small glass of water and you'll see it go away. I would do this before each meal. Eventually you could just take it once per day as it's actually really good to help us absorbe vitamina & minerales.
I am 51 and I have just about every symptom you mentioned. The one that scares me the most is when I am asleep or just about the fall asleep and I jump up gasping for air. I have to turn down the a/c to 69/70 with a ceiling fan on full blast as well as a free standing fan pointed directly at me in order to sleep. I've also had to cut out dairy, gluten and grains from my diet. Never had an issue with these things in the past but now I do. Thank you for making this video. It's good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this.
Tammy Thank You for not being afraid to open the dialogue on Menopause. I was late coming into Menopause a family trait. My maternal grandmother had a surprise baby in her mid forties. My mother was also late into her early 60's as was I. I am now 67 and on the otherside. I never suffered with many of the symptoms you mentioned. I did develop allergies I had never had before, I've always had a tendency towards dry skin, but became really dry. My body weight distribution changed. My vitamin D level dropped drastically. I started having an aversion to certain foods. I can't attest to mood swings as at this time I lost my sister, mother and husband. So I suffer with crying spells at a drop of a hat. I have started many of the V recommendations you have suggested and am pleased with those. We need a channel specifically for women so we can openly discuss with eachother the subject of Menopause without censorship!💪💁👊💥
So hard for you to go through all of this!i lost my husband a year ago August and still cry at the drop of a hat. I’m so very sorry that you are going through so much. Prayers for much needed healing.
Thank you for this subject. I am 64, have been in full menopause for about 10 years. Everything you have touched on is real. And shame on doctors for telling any woman it is all in her head. In fortunately even female doctor's do it. The up side to that is one day they will get to here someone tell them the same thing.
Oh Tammy I’m so glad you did this video. I will be google gut health. I haven’t had a good night sleep for years. 2 -4 hrs at a time. And the weight I’ve been very fortunate that I never had an issue till now it’s 20 lb and now I’m having to change my wardrobe because of the distribution of the weight. Ugh. The foggy head and just started the panic attacks where I feel like I can’t breathe. Any who. Thank you for letting me know I’m not alone!💕💕💕
Don't bother using Google, it's completely CENSORED, like UA-cam (their owned by the same parent co.) Try the "Brave" browser, there's no censorship. As far as learning about Natural Health issues like gut health, as well as the other symptoms you're experiencing, check out on UA-cam, Dr. Berg. He's extremely knowledgeable on Natural Health matters, & has a gift for being able to break down a complex topic in a way that is very easy for us "lay persons" to assimilate.
Hi Tammy! You are so incredibly beautiful-for any age, not just for 60. I’m so happy you made this video. I was in full blown menopause at 53. If I had a peri menopause before that, I didn’t know it. I spent my 40s feeling on top of the world. I took really good care of myself my whole adult life with eating good, exercise, skincare and always looked younger than my age. I was in the best physical shape of my life in my 40s, and my looks seem to all come together. Then the year of my body gearing up for menopause wasn’t so bad. But bam, once I was in full blown menopause the changes happened rapidly. My face seemed to age 10 years in 6 months( I’m big on skincare) then the sleeplessness. The brain fog, the panic attacks, the lack of sex drive, the changing of my shape. I only gained 10 lbs on my fit 5’9” body, but it was in weird places. My back, hanging over my bra straps. At my stomach and hip bones, making my clothes not fit. I felt weaker, and my normal workout routines felt much harder. The brain fog got so bad that I was making lots of mistakes at work and thought I was going to lose my job. My mom told me she regretted not taking HRT. I went on it, and after a couple of months of tweaking the dose with my doctor. TADA!! I felt like my 40 year old fit self again. I’ll be on it for as long as they’ll let me. It’s amazing. The funny thing is. My 20 year primary doctor, and my TMJ specialist both commended me for being smart enough to decide to take them, I didn’t ask, they said this unsolicited. I know HRT is not for everybody, but they’ve given me my life back.
For me the brain fog has gone away now that the hot flashes are worse! This was a tough summer(age 56)I also wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing too! Thank you so much for sharing your symptoms and solutions Tammy
That's symptoms of adrenal gland insufficiency, & magnesium deficiency. Check out on UA-cam, Dr. Berg. He is so awesome the way he breaks down complicated issues into clarity for us "lay people".

Cheryl Bond oh that’s interesting ! How does one solve this issue ?
@ I just gave you a resource, (Dr. Berg on UA-cam) in order to educate yourself on the issues...then, from there, you could possibly seek out nearest you, a "Functional Medicine Practitioner". They're licensed M.D.'s w/ highly advanced Holistic training. Regular Standard Allopathic Medicine is only about managing symptoms, via Big Pharma drugs, & not bringing balance to the body, enabling the body to heal itself.

Cheryl Bond thank you so much for the link ..I’ve watched several of his videos and will definitely chat to my doctor about this . It’s not something I’ve ever thought about especially as I am in menopause ...symptoms are very similar it would seem
@ Take this natural supplement - Gaia Adrenal Health Jump Start. I started taking only 1 pill per day (it says to take 2/day) and ALL of my menopausal symptoms went away, especially the hot flashes which were the worst! I watch Dr. Berg on YT and through him I learned that after menopause, the ovaries stop working and the Adrenals take over and start producing the hormones the ovaries used to produce. If our Adrenals are not clean or functioning correctly, we get all of these menopausal symptoms. Watch his UA-cam videos, you'll learn a lot about your body. You'll also learn how to fix may things naturally. Also, for joint issues, take a natural supplement that has both Glucosamine & MSM - it does wonders for our joints & even gets rid of joint pain.
What a great video, I started chuckling at all the symptoms as I totally get it, was peri from 43 to 52 then menopause to date. Phew when will it ever end, it’s been worse over past 2 years, anxiety is exactly the same as yourself, but nothing compared to some women really experiencing depression etc. Thanks for this Tammy, was really clear ❤️💕
Hi CMT! I am 55 years old and was having terrible night sweats, mood swings, foggy brain, random peeing when I coughed or laughed too hard and terrible memory problems. About 2-1/2 months ago I started the Combipatch HRT in the lowest dose. Right away my hot flashes subsided as well did the peeing issues. I still have trouble remembering words (although it's much less severe) and take gingo bagoba (sp) for the fuzzy brain. I spoke with my doctor about the remaining symptoms and she told me she would have to raise my dosage to perhaps combat the rest of my symptoms. I've already gained almost 15lbs on the patch and most evenings swell up like a balloon due to water retention. I've been watching Menapause Taylor here on YT to educate myself more on what to ask my doc for next. Thank you for your frankness on this most important topic!!
Thank you for this video. I have the pain in the feet - never related this to menopause, brain fog also. Relieved to know these are related to menopause. So much good info in this video.
Wow Tammy, you got it all! I'm 70 and experienced hot flashes, weight gain and sleeplessness...and still do! Thanks for your frank and informative video.
This is such an incredibly helpful post. I'm 41 and have been doing all I can to prepare for the "next phase". This is an incredibly taboo topic and videos like you that help us recognize signs, symptoms, and emtions are so helpful and so appreciated. You are truly a fantastic woman. Thank you beautiful 😁
Thank you so much for this video, Tammy! You are beautiful and an inspiration for us all. Discussion and community on this topic is extremely important. I turned 55 this year, and back in January my menopause adventure began (happy new year to me lol!) By March, I was nearly bedridden with joint paint (thought I had MS). Hot flashes/sweats were sent from Satan himself, 18 to 20 times a day and throughout the night. Hair thinning, dry skin, thick brain fog-- all those great little bonuses. But the main thing for me was the pain. It was and is unacceptable. So, I researched like crazy, and began to eliminate all inflammatory foods--sugar, white four (breads), all processed foods, fast foods, etc. Basically adopted a more ketogenic lifestyle, not necessarily for weight loss, but for pain loss. The results have been life-changing. You are absolutely right, Tammy, about cleaning up your diet, you must do that first. I also recommend learning from Dr. Eric Berg, he is amazing. His information helped me get my life back! God bless all of you ladies seeking the truth and help about menopause! :)
Oh the anxiety, thinning hair, itchiness, gas, joint pain and for me sometimes uncontrollable anger.... I have always been a positive person but I was struggling and every doctor wanted to put me on antidepressants. I always refused, pharmaceuticals are not my gig. My answers have been cleaning up my diet, walking and keeping busy and my corner stone is I too am very lucky to have one of the most understanding men that ever walked the face of the earth.
Great video and very informative. I was totally on my own throughout this process. My mother had no symptoms so she was no help. I did my own research and stayed proactive with my health. I started about age 45 with peri-menopause. At first I tried the 'natural' route and then chose HRT which saved my life and in truth those around me as well. I can check many of the boxes you experienced though I think it's important to included the positives...yap there are some. I discovered the need to reserve my precious energies and in doing so realized how much I no long cared for the opinion of others or how they felt about that. The fire in belly I experienced motivated me to explore more healing for myself and accept the changes that were happening to me. Some of the symptoms you mention I found were not menopause related high blood pressure for one, so it's important to stay connected to your Dr. It doesn't have to be awful ladies. Funniest thing I discovered quite by accident is that sex is better. Maybe because stuff is moving around in there or perhaps the thinning you mention creates more sensitivity. I don't care regardless, Woo hoo I'll take it!
Thank you for this !!! At 53 and 3yrs. into the menopause journey, I've had every symptom you've mentioned. I've also developed a rare for of psoriasis too. I've talked to other women who as well have developed psoriasis during menopause. Keep your videos coming, they always put me in a happy place.😊
I'm 55 and been in full menopause for about 18 months. This video is SO relatable! So far I've been hot flash free but I did have hives that came and went plus I had the itchiest skin behind my knees! I'd practically shred my skin scratching. I too had the painful feet in the morning and my back-I used to love to sleep in on the weekend but holy heck my lower back just can't do it anymore! Vertigo, vivid dreaming, vastly decreased sex drive and difficulty achieving orgasm......it's a bummer. Thanks so much for starting the conversation! Let's talk ladies, this is real and this is life! Job Done Tammy!
Thank you for this video, Tammy. I'm in year 7 of menopause and I'm suffering. I wont take HRT due to extreme cardiovascular risk in my family, so I really, really appreciate your run down of symptoms as I've been experiencing many of them but, at the same time, also being made to feel like I'm losing it. Your video was empowering to me and I cannot thank you enough xox
You are not imagining thing Danielle...each of us may experience something different...the hormones are a very powerful part of our bodies...when we lose them...anything can happen...Just take time for you...listen to your body...it will tell you what you need in so many ways!
I turned 66 this past July and thankfully, most of my menopause symptoms have eased up. Not gone by any stretch of the imagination, but the intensity has backed off. You hit on every single symptom that I have experienced in this journey. Yes, hives are a very real part of this. I experienced them as did one of my cousins. When you talked about the pain in the bones of your feet and hips, I almost lost it! Yes, yes, yes! The waking up choking and being wide awake. I am thrilled now when I get six hours of sleep! The weight gain in strategic areas. The dry skin, hair and nails. Everything with the “V” area you mentioned, the headaches and brain fog. For the same reasons you mentioned, I did not do the hormone therapy. I won’t even get into the drenching hot flashes. Like I said, the frequency and intensity are lessening. Maybe when I hit 80, it will be over. Lol! This was a much needed video and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you Tammy. Take care - Barbara
So, so fascinating! I'm still in peri-menopause, and have found anxiety to be the worst of it. I had never heard about hives being a symptom of menopause - thank you so much for sharing your story!!
Tammy, thank you so much for this. You are right. Oftentimes you are told it’s you or it’s ‘just stress.’ We know it is so much more than that. I started perimenopause around 47 or 48. I was confirmed menopausal just last summer (after a blood test). I’m only 52 but, as you said, we can get it very early or not until later on in life. I have experienced the hives, the anxiety, the hot flashes, sleepless nights and certainly a lot of weight gain despite my trying to eat healthier. I think it is getting better, but it will take more self-care and patience. It’s hard on our bodies and it can weigh heavily in our minds too. I wish we could be 25 again, lol! But there is beauty at this stage as well. You are beautiful inside and out and a great inspiration! Thanks Tammy and lots of love your way!❤️🌹❤️
Thank you so much for sharing. I am 63. Familiar symptoms for me are belly fat, migraines, hair loss, flaking fingernails and worst of all is the lack of sleep then having to go to work next day. The menopausal gift just keeps on giving. If there is another life, I'm coming back as a man. Xxx
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I have experienced so many of these symptoms since my mid forties and I am now 67! Thank you for sharing and making a difference to many women and men everywhere.😘
Excellent video Tammy. Thank you. I started going through menopause in my late 30’s. It was horrible. I was so unprepared. At one point, I thought I was loosing my mind. My night sweats were so horrendous I was nearly hospitalized for exhaustion because for weeks I had no REM sleep. This happened before I turned 40. I finally found a female physician who understood my physical issues were real and not “in my head”. Pay attention Lady friends. Menopause is very real and your body will go through a tremendous amount of physiological changes even if you don’t have many symptoms . Again, thank you Miss Tammy for sharing. ♥️
Hi Tammy. A much needed video. I’m 50. In the menopause, and it sucks! 😩🥴 The only symptom of the 36 I don’t have is hot flashes. Crippling anxiety (never had it all my life), when I’m washing dishes for instance. Completely out of the blue. No reason. Utterly life crippling anxiety, that I can’t put into words. Then, because menopause is the gift that keeps giving I have rosacea and periorbital dermatitis and blepharitis, I give the elephant man a run for his money now! 👍. That really helps with my cortisol levels! 😉. I have a couple of friends that have breezed through it. But most aren’t. I know I’m not alone in the struggle. Really appreciate you taking the time to hi light the symptoms. Much love 💕💕💕
Hi Tammy just started looking at your vlogs and am really enjoying them. Thank you for a vlog on Menopause, not enough info is out there and alot of women are thinking they are going crazy. I am in peri menopause and was able to cure my acid re-flux/heart burn by going plant based. It wasn't easy, but it has helped so much. I was at the point of being unable to eat any type of tomato sauce, coffee, citrus, or hot foods such as jalapenos. All of my favorite things. I was popping tums like it was nothing and it wasn't helping. I don't like to take any drugs if possible so I went the natural way with food and am very grateful because now I can eat and drink all of things above with no issues and no drugs. My jaw was clicking every time I ate, my joints ached when I got up in the morning and of course the hot flashes and vertigo. My plant based diet helped all of that. Unfortunately I do like to eat sweets, that contain dairy, sugar and eggs every once in a while and I notice that my hot flashes come back with a vengeance when I do. I know eating plant based is hard for some folks, but if you are at your wits end and nothing is working, and you are miserable, than give it a try, it helped me so much that I will never go back.
Wish I would have gone on hormones. Now that I am 62 I know that it would have helped me now. Menopause has been Hell for me. Living a nightmare. Enjoyed this topic Tammy!
Best video ever. I am 53 and in menopause. I have horrible anxiety, sensitivity, fatigue, hot flashes, horrible migraines, weight gain and thinning hair. I am the proud mother of an 8 year old son who is very understanding. I never knew they could check for gluten sensitivity
I agree with what you said about turning 60. I turned 60 in July. I feel that age is just a number. This was such an important video. Thank you for making it.
Thank you for talking about this. I am a very knowledgeable RN who is a daughter of an RN and things happen which are a definite change we have never discussed. Sleep changed. The Menopot belly. Hot flashes happen to me now at age 59. A low carb diet helped me with inflammation, a small amount of melatonin for sleep. This is doable. Stay busy. We must support each other
Way to go Tammy! Such a wonderful and so much needed video. I’m so sorry you have had to struggle so much! I am now 71 and I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 53. I had been in perimenopause for maybe a year or two before that. But when I had the hysterectomy it was like bam! Everything changed. I do take some estradiol now. At one point I was taking Premarin and testosterone. The journey is not for sissies. I have had all of the symptoms you spoke about at various times over the last 18 years. I’m sure the hormones have helped a lot but I realize that not everyone can take them. I definitely had to give up the testosterone. I too am very fortunate to have a wonderful, understanding husband and we have gotten through all of these things together. I know this video must have been helpful to So many women. I wish I could have seen and heard someone like you speak about this issue when I was going through the worst of my experiences. I hope that you will continue to improve and that you will become more comfortable with each passing day. God bless you for having the courage to try and help other women!😀🌹💕
Excellent post Tammy. My symptoms started late 30's and full blown menopause for over well 10 years - 20 + years of symptoms and still going :( I also had hives as big as my fist all over my body for about a year. Terrible trembling of my whole body. Every symptom you mentioned I had and then some! My life saver was 8 years on HRT. Without it I doubt I would still be alive. I am 61 now and still suffer night sweats and hot flushes. Sleeplessness is a given. My oldest and dearest friend had not one symptom and found it a breeze. Just goes to show how different we all are. Most important I think is that we should not be made to feel ashamed of going through a normal process of life. x
Tammy Great video, I am turning 60 this November and I have the belly fat I never had before and the headaches, and your right you know how old you are but in your head you feel so much younger. Oh yea and you sleep a lot less, which is super fun. God bless ,thanks for sharing so the rest of us feel we are not alone. OXOX
Happy Birthday ....I wonder how many "Ageless Beauties" are turning 60 this year....and yes, the loss of sleep...complete joy...( Said no one ...ever !!! LOL) Thanks for sharing Kathy!!
During perimenopause I developed a whole body rash that lasted for 8 months. I developed a food allergy to tree nuts- all tree nuts. I had eaten nuts my entire life so it took months of doing an elimination diet to figure it out and I had to figure it out myself. I was sent to many specialist and they were working me up for Lupus because of the skin issue and joint issue. Your immune system goes through a blender during perimenopause but you will come out stronger. Thank you for this video!!! Its so important for us women to share this experience. I am 54 now and I am healthier then ever!
Miss Tammy thanks to you. I told you about my hair falling out, my middle toe broke, my heart or right breast pained. So I took Shatavari, folic acid and you take collagen so I tried Pro Collagen and I feel there are some positive results❤️😊so I will carry on being observant at 48 years old I have a better understanding of my body thank you. GOD bless
I love how you incorporate so much humor into this subject! It’s probably the least humorous thing you can experience! Lol. Weight gain, brain fog, joint pain, all of it IS REAL! And I was menopausal at 47. And had no clue what exactly was going on. My mom died when she was 28. My grandmother had an emergency hysterectomy at age 22. 😳🤷🏼♀️ I had no references to use. These types of videos are incredibly important to help other women!! I thank you so much. Omg!!! I never even thought of nightmares to be associated with menopause!! That just blew me away.
This was a really informative video, Tammy. I'm 46 and have started having those sleeping anxiety attacks you mentioned. My doctor hasn't been able to figure it out but they are EXACTLY how you described it. Thank you for sharing.
You have done a great service to women that are going through menopause. I mostly had mood changes and hot flashes but I have a friend that is having a lot of the problems you have had and are still having and I had her watch this. I can't tell you how much you have helped me with finding make-up that looks nice, and how to apply it ( my skin seemed like it changed overnight ), supplements, hair products, modified exercise, well pretty much everything. I am 59 yrs old and am trying to make the most of it! Thank you again.
I have started getting hives in my toes every month before my period starts. I so appreciate you sharing this topic. Women are embarrassed to share, which does not help younger women know what to expect.
Such good information. My mom suffered with hives for 10 years. Nobody could help her. She said it was the worst experience in her life. Then one day they just stopped. Looking back now she would have been at the approximate age for menopause. Thank you so much for this valuable information.
Great video - I also suffered for a full year with hives & bad vertigo ! I was told the hives was due to stress but I knew that wasn’t the case. The hives were so bad you could write on my skin with your finger & your could read it - it was horrendous ! Until you brought this up today, I didnt realize hives were part of menopause journey & clearly neither did my Dr’s !!!!! Started peri menopause at 48 - postmenopausal at 56 - now at 58 & still suffering hot flashes & sleepless nights 😱
Maggie Lunde I also had horrible vertigo for 2 years! Had no idea it was a menopause symptom! I didn’t think I could go on anymore with it. Went to a dizziness clinic, did vestibular therapy, everything to try and get rid of it.
Happy Labor Day! Just came across the video late last night. I couldn’t sleep. I have those hives on my chest. The doctor treated it like poison Ivey. But it wasn’t. He gave me prednisone to take for 10 days and a cream to put on them. It worked amazingly. You’re so beautiful. I turned 60 in August. I’ve just started your routine. I hope I can turn back the clock. Thanks again for your time on UA-cam. Timeless, Yvonne
Tammy, thank you for sharing , now women live longer lives and the peri-menopause and menopause years can be very difficult and at times challenging, without counting the effect in our health, you are absolutely right more should be talk about it and learn about options and prevention of osteoporosis, heart attacks and Alzheimer and the hormone effects on these.
Hi Tammy, I just turned 60 in June and started menopause at 50. I was lucky to only have hot flashes. I started to take faxseed oil supplements and the reduced the flashes by 80%. I look at 60 as a blessing. Lost my husband to brain cancer a little over a year ago and see life in a whole new way. Can't wait to see 61 !!!!! Sorry you had it so rough with menopause.
Love you! Thank you for talking about all of these problems. I am post menopause and still have some of these issues. Dryness, hot and itching! Praying we will all be healed of these problems! I do have the weighted blanket my daughter gave me.
Well that helps a lot...I’m 50 and am having joint pain and recurring uti ‘s for the last few months. I’m NOT as crazy as I thought. I feel as though I have been peri menopausal for 8 to 10 years. In May 2018 I bleed for 45 days before getting a hysterectomy. This is not a fun journey but I’m so thankful you have shared your experience. 😘😘😘😘
Your honest intelligent approach to this subject is so appreciated. I went through menopause several years ago..hot flashes, anxiety, no sleep . Still suffer from sleepless nights, thinning hair and have to be very aware of the acidic balance of the "V' area ..or it's not a happy place!. It can be difficult to differentiate between getting older and menopause symptoms...this conversation is very helpful to us all. It can become so exasperating trying to solve these body issues on our own...the more discussion there is, the more we won't feel alone or 'slightly crazy'. Thank you for sharing your life with us Tammy.
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis after menopause, even though I’m on HRT which is supposed to help with that. 😟 What I hate the most is my crepey skin and my muscle tone deteriorating. I look like I’m melting. And it seems to happen overnight. I went from having toned muscles to looking like I became old overnight. Hard to look in the mirror these days.
Excellent and informative video, Tammy! I am 65 and fortunately only have a few menopausal issues left to deal with. They definitely have subsided the older I get. The thing I dislike most are the times during the night that you referred to as adrenaline rushes. I have always described the feeling you have when you are at the top of the roller coaster and just start the drop down. When I asked my doctor about it and described it that way, he just looked at me like I had lost my mind. It was comforting to hear you go through something similar. Not pleasant in the least. I am sure you have helped (or at the very least, eased) a lot of women's by letting us hear all the changes you have gone through. A reminder for all of us to start to pay attention and keep track of the changes our body goes through during menopause. Thank you!
Tammy, thank you for sharing your journey with menopause. I was catapulted into menopause after a full hysterectomy nearly 10 years ago. The hot flashes were unbelievable as was the weight gain. The thinning hair is also very difficult to deal with. I was lucky not to have night sweats, but boy-oh-boy could I be "crabby"! I still experience the occasional hot flash, but nothing like in the past. I have recently tried CBD oil for help with the sleepless nights and it seems to be working; otherwise, I, didn't take anything to help with symptoms. The one thing you didn't mention, but may not be experiencing, is lack of desire. My husband has been supportive, but it has been difficult to overcome.
I loved this Very informative 😉 I will be 48 this month and been going though some pre-menopause issues! Migraines every month with cycle 😔 But helped to hear some of this I believe some sensitivity to foods which I didn’t think were related And had hives with medication 🥺 I have gotten very sensitive to medication! Sleep issues but no sweats yet Some other things Have been doing some more research on what can happen Brain fog is bad 🙄 I’m glad to know it will improve I thought I was crazy 😂 or old symptom! Thanks for sharing Have a blessed holiday weekend 😇
Awesome video Tammy. Menopause disrupts so many areas in our body as you pointed out so thoroughly and for years doctors attributed those problems to everything but menopause. Women were told many times it was all in their heads which for me as a nurse was infuriating. I never thank goodness experienced hives. I went through actual menopause when I was in my 50s. It was a rough road with the hot flashes because I felt like I just stepped out of the shower every time they hit me and then I would feel like an icicle afterwards. Sleeping had always been a problem for me my whole life so that was the easiest part of menopause to cope with. Your video was greatly appreciated and am sure it will help many women. I chose not to take hormone replacement treatment but as you said women need to talk to their doctors and follow what is the best therapy for their body. I think the extra fat storage is the one thing that bothers many women. I am going to be 71 in November and still have to sleep with my fans blowing on me because I have become accustomed to having them lol.
I enjoyed this video so much! However I do disagree with you about antidepressants. I went on an antidepressant and I lost 22 pounds. I also take a xanax before bed. I feel sharp as a tack and i look great because I lost weight and feel happy and rested with menopause however I do have some of the symptoms you have discussed. I would like people to know that not all people gain weight on antidepressants. It saved my marriage and my life going through the hell of menopause. Good Luck to you and all women xo
This is fabulous for you, especially since it saved your life and marriage YAY!! For me , they work the opposite...I have to say in my circle of family and friends that go on them...all have gained weight...perhaps it is your doctors care and script that is working for you...I do understand the importance of Anti depressants...Thank you for sharing Linda!!
@@TammysAgelessBeauty Tammie this video was amazing, I have gone thru all of this but I wanted to add I have the same issue with weight gain but there a couple of anti depressants that cause you to lose weight. My doctor recommended Welbutrin XL It's there new formulation it works a little different than most antidepressants which I am now taking, its been a miracle for me, saved my life, no weight gain & some weight loss. It might be worth researching... Love your videos Tammy!
Hi Linda, that's great that you found an antidepressant that works so well for you. All the ones I tried (including the one I'm on now) caused weight gain. I want to add my voice to Jay Wellington's below. Please be careful with the xanax. I have a generalized anxiety disorder--all my life--and have been treated with various benzos. They are highly addictive even when you follow the doctor's instructions to the letter! IF you can, see if you can find alternative methods to relax you and help you sleep. Sorry for the long comment and best of luck.
I went into menopause at 53 - 15 years ago. I also became lactose intolerant a few years ago - and it took a while to figure out why I was getting such awful digestive problems. I am able to get away with some dairy if I use a dairy enzyme pill before eating. My mother had night sweats but luckily I never did. Menopause sure is a bag of tricks. Thanks for your video, Tammy.
This was such a great video Tammy!! I will be 60 in January and I have been through so many symptoms you have spoken about!! The joint pain and sleepless nights are really bad for me at the moment, never had any problems untill menopause! Like you I can't eat the things I used too! Had to look at everything I eat because of reflux and allergies it's a pain!! But I'm getting there! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us this was such a helpful video! You look amazing!! Love and hugs Deb x
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I am 54 and went through menopause 2 years ago. I still get hot flashes and other symptoms, but decided to not get on HRT. These come and go, depending on my diet and exercise. I am dealing with thyroid and gluten issues as well. It's amazing how it's all connected, isn't it? So thankful to have people like you to get me through it. ♡
Girl I’m 3 yrs ahead of you and yes it’s real!!! Ugh! I use bioidentical hormones from a compounding pharmacy...... saved my life! Lessened my symptoms except sleeping💘
I've been on estrogen pellet therapy for 20 years since surgical menopause. Been on oral and patch and my doctor is specialized in pellet therapy and its been very good at minimizing the symptoms. It was a personal choice. I know its not for everyone. Some of the symptoms like joint pain, hair and skinchanges I've noticed anyways since 55 yo. My mother has been on oral hrt for over 30 years without a problem but I know everyone has a personal decision. I had a car accident at beginning of last year and a mild traumatic brain injury which stopped my career. I have short term memory and speech problems since then so I don't know how much is due to that, aging or menopause but its hard to deal with sometimes. Thank you Tammy forputting this info out there for women to know we are not alone. I know I appreciate it alot. Take care!
Hi Tammy, This is my favorite video. I understand every word you said on menopause. It's amazing how our gut health changes during this time in our lives. Smaller amounts of food works the best for me during meal time. Both my husband and I have brain fog so we help one another remember things..lol Loved this video Tammy. 😘❤️ You are beautiful!
Wow you are a fabulous 60!Menopause keeps giving and giving. Am 67 and still experiencing brain fog, adult acne and terrible terrible sleep. I have tried everything. I have resorted to CBD oil for sleep as I am desperate. However I am a lucky person and try to live my life to it fullest. This is my new normal :-).
Thank you, thank you for this video, Tammy. Sixty will look fabulous on you, girl! I'm turning 59 next month, and am into my 7th year of menopause, and I grow so weary of the lack of sleep, some of which is due to night sweats. Thanks for mentioning the weighted blanked. I've been researching the cooling weighted blanket and am going to give that a try. If there's anyone who has already given this a try, I would love your opinion on the cooling effect. Also, Tammy, thanks for making me laugh while talking about brain fog. I laughed because it's so real to me! Just knowing that we're not alone in this struggle is encouraging. Thanks for sharing and starting the conversation.💕
Oh Gurl, this video was a blessing for me to hear. A thousands thank you's. I broke out in a rare rash during perimenopause which is just starting to tapper off after 2 years. I also am experiencing dry mouth. I really do feel that I'm going crazy especially after doctors have said that there was nothing they could do for me; that it was all stress; that I need to relax. I am not a napper during the day. Some nights, especially when the moon is full, I find it very hard to sleep. It's like I get similar hormonal symptoms when I had my period even during menopause. In March will be my 2nd full year of being in Menopause.
Tammy you look beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing all your experiences and knowlegde on menopause, it truly helps to know your not alone. I appreciate all the info😊
I am SO glad you made this video! I take care of myself diet and exercise wise but have avoided looking into menopause for some reason. I am 53 and haven't have my period since January ( fingers crossed this is it!) I have been experiencing so many of the symptoms you mentioned that I thought I was losing my marbles! Foggy brain, joint pain just this summer in the evening, restless legs, waking up choking, nightmares, a new emerging belly( could be due to my new fondness for chocolate) has anyone had a late in life love for chocolate??? Rash on neck. Acne for the first time ever, and a tendency to cry easily at the sight of babies, puppies, old people, sunsets...Anyhow I'm definitely going to show this video to my husband!
Great video, 55 I went through, the menapause, In less than 6 months. From A to Z .(I was 49) Caused by Steroids for my Multiple Sclerosis and other meds, apprently speeded things up. Not sure i believe that. Taking HRT. My hot flashes, could not believe. I went to see my friend and she said, your glowing . As long as it's available I'm taking HRT. I know the risks, I couldn't even tell you about my nightmares, only 2 nights ago I threw myself out of bed, running from something. Of course everyone's different. I have an older friend. Breezed through it all. Yes hair, please if you haven't give me a cure lol xxx.💖 💗 💝 🐕 🐾 🐾 I needed a reason to smile Thankyou your beautiful doggie picture post.
I'm so sorry you went through that experience with hives. I had that when I was pregnant. It was torture! I was my Dr's case study. I'm in menopause now so I'm thankful for this video. I have extreme joint and muscle pain, my primary Dr said it couldn't be from menopause. Then I saw an ob/gynocologist she told me the pain could indeed be from menopause. So frustrating! Walking daily and moving has really helped me!
Thank you so much for making this video! First off you are absolutely stunning! Secondly, I’m 44 and currently experiencing premenopausal symptoms for the last couple of years. This last year has probably been the worst. And with that being said my symptoms haven’t been nearly as bad as some other women’s I know in my life. I found your video very informative for what I’m currently going through and the possibly future symptoms. I can honestly say out of everyone I watch on UA-cam I always find your videos the most informative on women’s health and the aging experience of a woman. Please keep making these types of videos because some of us ladies don’t have Mother’s who can give insight and answers our questions on what to expect as we grow older. So again thank you so much for making this video!
Simply.... THANK YOU!!!! Currently it's night sweats, which the black cohosh does help with. Hot flashes during the day, I just donated most all of my sweaters and heavy clothing to the Goodwill. Brain fog is real! Anxiety is real! I do eat a good clean diet (about 80%) but definitely need to up my exercise. I have a wonderful loving husband that also freezes at night so that I can get some sleep. Currently I am still on birth control. My doctors and I have come up with a plan and it seems to be working for me so far. I am 51 and my symptoms started about 2 years ago. My cycles are still regular because of the birth control but they are very very heavy at this point. Again, thank you so much for sharing. We do deserve a wonderful life and should not be embarrassed to talk about our health. Edited to add... My skin has become very dry also so I have upped my daily water intake which has helped also, water water water ladies :) Edited again to add that for my joint pain I've found that collagen supplements and turmeric has helped greatly.
I went through a very early menopause, so I've been dealing with it for many, many years. Since I was 47. My biggest struggle has been hot flashes and weight gain in odd places...my back and sides. My once manageable, occasional head aches have ramped up to full on migraines, and last, but not least, sleep issues. I honestly thought I was going crazy, and it manifested in terrible anxiety attacks. Thankfully, I have learned to deal with all of these symptoms. Have they gone away? Not completely, but I'm still hoping!
I did too Melissa..... 47........ I've had no problems EXCEPT I have VERY dry skin and everything is bone dry.................. and I just turned 60. My MD is against hormone therapy due to the risks of Ovarian/breast cancer. I dunno, but ?
I also have the dryness. I eventually had a hysterectomy, so I don't have ovaries, and there is no familial history of breast cancer in my family, so I decided to take the risk of hormone replacement. I'm 58, and the last 10 years would have been hell if I had not. You may want to look into bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. It has made a world of difference for me.
Dear Tammy, I had a partial hysterectomy at age 30 and the only symptom I can recall is moodiness. I am now 70 years old, 5'3" and still 120 lbs and truly feel blessed that I did not have to go through all that you have had to endured. Such a great video for those who will be facing these challenges. ~Joanna♡
@@TammysAgelessBeauty... My sisters or friends never discussed any of their horrible symptoms like you did. Totally amazing what a person can put up with. Great role model Tammy! ~Joanna♡
Tammy: Sexy Goddess! YES Tammy represent, my friend! I had a complete hysterectomy in my 30s (I'm 53 now). I'm so glad you are talking about your symptoms. We as women need to advocate for ourselves. When a doctor tells us "it's all in our head," don't accept that. Politely fire doctors who disrespect our mind and body. I believe we have to fiercely advocate for ourselves. Gosh, I'm having a hot flash right now,
Hello Tammy ! I'm a french fan ! I am 57, and I recognize my troubles listening yours ! It made me almost laugh when I heard you speaking about the feet pain... What a relief, I am normal ! More seriously, thank you for this courageous vidéo ! Brigitte
I have always admired you, Tammy, but after watching this, I truly adore you. Thank you for sharing this 'taboo' subject with us and for being so real. x
Great video Tammy. I also had debilitating hives at menopause. My naturopathic doctor tested my cortisol and found it was caused by adrenal fatigue. Strengthening my adrenals solved my problem. I recently learned that when our ovaries start to shut down, the adrenal gland has to work harder to make hormones. So it makes sense that adrenal fatigue is so common at menopause. Hope this may help you. Hives are miserable. Thanks for your great videos.
THANKS so much for this! I am a late menopause woman myself. I say that to people and they think I am crazy. I just turned 59. I went 8 months without period and then doctor put me on some HRT and bam a period. Going to speak with doctor next visit on going off. My mother was also a late meno also. I started periods early so thought I would end early but have sincee been told that usually isnt the case. I have had so many issues you discussed on here. I was diagnosed with major food allergies along with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome which deals increased histamine in the body from foods and enviromentals. Also have gluten and wheat intolerance. I recently was told borderline Celiac. I am just having very hard time with focusing on that. I used to be able to eat anything and the last 6/7 years I have been diagnosed with so many health issues. Lyme, Asthma, MCAS, Fibro, etc. Doctors said probably had some of these for years and born with the MCAS but something flared it up in my body. Now wondering if it has been the perimenopause???? I also have had major acid reflux and Tagament is the only thing that works but that doesnt always do the trick anymore. Also suffer with major restless leg and never realized could be the wheat/gluten connection. Thanks again for this great video!
If I eat any pasta...I am up all night in agony with RLS ...this is what leads me to believe it is a gluten sensitivity....I also think we are misdiagnosed a lot ...especially around menopause....many doctors know just the basics of menopause...unless they are functional Doctors
Oh Thank you so SO SO Much for this video, I had hives for a long time since my Hysterectomy...it was the worst experience imaginable. I am still going through many other symptoms and suffer from them alone. I appreciate you being here
Love your videos❤️ You have inflammation in your joints. You must cut out all sugar. Gluten and grains. Higher healthy fats. These helped me with all my menopause symptoms. Magnesium and 5htp before bed helps with sleeping. God bless.
I am working on this now... I have been a vegetarian most of my life...I don't eat many grains anymore...they upset my reflux.....for me, cutting out fruit has been the hardest ....berries are the only things I will eat now in moderation....AND I have made a huge effort to get rid of ALL dairy...I already take Magnesium....Thank you for sharing with us Lynn!!
@@joni4taz Thank you! I love both the Natural Calm and Sleepytime tea. I am not familiar with 5HTP. Do you take the 5HTP before bed? This is a great idea! Xo
Great video Tammy! Thank you. I started perimenopause at 48. I was completely through my full year without a cycle by age 50. My hot flashes lasted 10 years though. The way I describe a hot flash is that it's like a labor contraction with heat rather than pain. Build...Peak...Recede. 😁 I had NO hives or other debilitating symptoms. I'm very fortunate.❤
They can stay for a long time I'm afraid. I have been post menopausal for a good 10 years and still have them. Low estrogen pills do help a bit. For me at least.
This was a great informative video Tammy!! Thank you so much. I'm well past menopause (67 last month) ... I went thru it at 44 (actually at the time, before my dr confirmed what was happening - I thought I was pregnant constantly and took a pregnancy test monthly). but..... I can so relate and agree to a lot of things you mentioned (except I didn't have many hot flashes.. thank God) and agree that exercise, cleaner eating etc are paramount to feeling better in the long run.
I have had hives, brain fog and vertigo! I think it was related to Keto diet! which has really helped me along with intermittent fasting to get off my excess weight. Still cannot sleep a full night. I have had a lifetime of STRESS however. Love you Tammy, you are a wonderful person & you have helped me!
Wow! Thank you as this validates so many symptoms I've experienced that I never knew could be related to menopause. The ones that I attributed to something else were #1) joint pain - some days REEEALLY bad & then suddenly Gone! (No Dr ever connected it to menopause. I thought I was going crazy.) So happy you mentioned that &thinning hair, acne (I NEVER had it before), brittle nails, vertigo (big time), and brain fog. Thanx so much for this video! (I'm same age as you!)
Sweet Tammy, you're ONE IN A MILLION!!! and one tuff mother pucker! Hot flashes are miserable and embarrassing! After 6 years of suffering I'm finally on HRT's. Gave me my life back. I've heard hot flashes described as (having a blow torch aimed at you). Louie is the best! I also have a Louie and it took years before he finally understood what I was going through. So blessed to have you as part of my journey. FYI, Menopause Taylor has a great You Tube channel and she delivers great information on menopause & health. All the best to you and yours. -Ida xo
Beth Benedetto I wonder if Videos are demonetised the same way if the male 'P' word is used . Crazy that biological words are controlled & trolls, abuse and swearing are allowed .
THANK YOU much needed information without hype. I don't understand the UA-cam issues ridiculous. Thinking of Joelle in Martinique and hoping she is safe and that your family and property in Florida is safe from the hurricane.
Thank you Tammy we need more information on Menopause. It shouldn’t be a taboo subject!
The fact that UA-cam won't allow you to use the correct language to describe a part of the female anatomy, is like 🤯. This is an ADULT channel, & ADULT topics & words should be able to be used.
What's next!? Anatomy classes to be cancelled for school's? Gimme a break! with this nonsense online CENSORSHIP! 🙄
I’m 26 and I feel it’s good for me to inform myself and understand what can happen. I admire you for being real and open. Your beauty is ageless ❤️
Lisa Key I think it is such a taboo subject because male docs haven’t a clue.
Boy oh boy! I am 63 and I started premenopausal symptoms at 46! I would get hot flashes and sweating like I had run a marathon. I had UTI all the time, depression, severe anxiety, weight gain, headaches, dry skin, thinning hair and lots of weight gain around the belly. I
Made a lot of changes in my life in order to make myself feel better.
Same here! Started in my early 40s full blown menopause by mid to late 40s. All the symptoms you stated as well as trouble sleeping and anxiety
Thank you! I'm 48 and have been going through horrible symptoms. I actually thought that I had early onset dementia. I now take 5 mg of Estradiol and it's changing my life. We are not alone! Xo! #womensupportingwomen
cjamzbrn1 Look into Ashwaganda for your anxiety. It has helped me.
Nearly 60 and looking unbelievable 🙌🏻😘❤️💜
Thank you so much Adele!!
Hi there if you look up menopause Taylor you will learn so much .. She is wonderful and devoting her life to teaching women about menopause.
I'm so very sorry for your losses. That sounds so so hard.
@@jenniferannfox2316 Thank you. It has been very difficult. I am thankful for my family, friends , faith & therapist.
So hard for you to go through all of this!i lost my husband a year ago August and still cry at the drop of a hat. I’m so very sorry that you are going through so much. Prayers for much needed healing.
@@teresacase3473 Thank You and so sorry for your loss. It's been nearly 4 years, but there are times it feels as if it were yesterday.
@
I just gave you a resource, (Dr.
It makes me sad that so many suffer with depression...Thanks for sharing !!
Tammy's Ageless Beauty 🌹
JKP.....Get, on Amazon, Acetyl-L-Carnitine by Life Extension. Excellent for
brain fog. Good luck.
Thank you Tammy! ❤Love this video its so important for women our age to have this conversation and feel heard and informed.
Tammy, you say it as it is and that’s so important. You are someone we look up to because of your honesty and frankness. Thank you 💕
Thank you so much Veronica!!
The only symptom of the 36 I don’t have is hot flashes.
Kathy P........Get a good B Complex. It should help with headaches and stress.
Yes! Do what is best for you and support all women with their choice. I’ll be taking hormones until my last breath 💋
Sheebles J -💋
What I hate the most is my crepey skin and my muscle tone deteriorating.
Me too
This video made me realize why you’re my favorite “UA-camr” - thank you.
I loved this
Very informative 😉
I will be 48 this month and been going though some pre-menopause issues!
Migraines every month with cycle 😔
But helped to hear some of this
I believe some sensitivity to foods which I didn’t think were related
And had hives with medication 🥺
I have gotten very sensitive to medication!
Sleep issues but no sweats yet
Some other things
Have been doing some more research on what can happen
Brain fog is bad 🙄 I’m glad to know it will improve
I thought I was crazy 😂 or old symptom!
Thanks for sharing
Have a blessed holiday weekend 😇
As women we are all in this together. I’m glad we can be honest and try to understand it. Thank you Tammy for opening up the conversation.
Hi Tammy, I went through menopause at 37. I am lucky I didn’t have any of the symptoms of menopause. Thank you for sharing xoxo roseingeorgia
@@TammysAgelessBeauty Thank you, Tammy! xoxo
Love your videos Tammy!
xanax is a temp drug....short term. talk to dr abt this.
Smaller amounts of food works the best
for me during meal time.
Oh Josie, if you do try the cooling weighted blanket come back and share with us. Thanks so much for sharing with us!
~Joanna♡
Very blessed Joanna!!
Gosh, I'm having a hot flash right now,
Great advice!
Thank you for sharing this 'taboo' subject with us and for being so real. x
Thank you so much...it truly means so much to me!!
Wonderful video and information. I agree there should be these conversations.
I appreciate this more than I can even say. Thank you so much for all the information!!
Oh Thank you so SO SO Much for this video, I had hives for a long time since my Hysterectomy...it was the worst experience imaginable. I am still going through many other symptoms and suffer from them alone. I appreciate you being here
Love your videos❤️
You have inflammation in your joints.
I also take 5HTP and mix some Natural Calm into my Sleepytime tea at night. Helps a lot.
Also have vit D level for joint pain. It should be at least 50.
@@joni4taz I tried 5htp but it made me feel so sickl
Hi Tammy I still have night sweats and hot flashes!! Went through menopause in 2012!!! I turned 60 in August
YEAH!!! 🤔🤗Tammy do a cook book for menopausal women....your tips and tricks👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼👍🏼
I can’t believe you will be 60 you look so much younger! Love the jacket, and makeup as always beautiful!! And the video very informative!!!:)
HEY TAMMY, THANKS FOR THIS. MOST DAYS I STILL THINK I'M GOING NUTTS ,BUT ITS JUST MENOPAUSE. LOVE YOU PATTY.😂😙💖👍👍

So upsetting you cannot way the “V” word . . . . Utterly ridiculous! Very informative video!
I know, they won't allow comments under the video as well if I say the V term...ridiculous!
Beth Benedetto I wonder if Videos are demonetised the same way if the male 'P' word is used . Crazy that biological words are controlled & trolls, abuse and swearing are allowed .
Who do we send letters to show our outrage to?
THANK YOU much needed information without hype. I don't understand the UA-cam issues ridiculous. Thinking of Joelle in Martinique and hoping she is safe and that your family and property in Florida is safe from the hurricane.
