I've been in some elevators that must have been a 100 years old, and they were really cool. Hand carved wood and buttons made probably from bakelite. Other type I've seen doesn't have walls, but criss-crossing metal bars and they look nice too. I'm sure Italy has lots of beautiful architecture to see in all kinds of styles. I want to go there and visit some cities and the countryside and eat the delicious food every day.
We often encounter unexpected troubles when traveling. However, it can also become a very good memory of your trip later on.
A family of musicians cramped together in a creepy elevator! Hilarious. lol
That ancient elevator / creepy stairs would be great shown in a horror film.

What an unforgettable experience, full of highs(being reunited with the rest of your family, and also meeting Daniele and Rita again, and exploring world-famous sites in Europe)and lows(dealing with a broken elevator, toilet, and washing machine, and the dirty surroundings and environment, and saying goodbye to a dearly beloved family member, Nikolay's Grandmother Jenia😢🙏). Did U all get a chance to visit Rome, or R U saving that for your next trip to Italy? U can't go to Rome without also visiting The Vatican! Make sure U also visit The Colosseum(since U brought up elevators, I should mention that they installed elevators in The Colosseum, and they were working fine when I went there). I am from England UK here an elevator would be known as a "lift". Lifts of all ages get stuck sometimes, if you do not have the time to wait to be rescued, use the stairs! Never use a lift if the building is on fire!

The ancien elevator in Italy used to have coins for moving. You should put a quarter to use it. But like 40 years ago. Now obviously they are free.
