I agree! Thundersteel is easily my favorite Riot album ever. If a time machine existed this is one show I would definitely go to. I love all the lead singers that Riot have had, but Tony Moore is easily my favorite. The whole band was so intense on this show.

I rememeber back in 1988 I was taking guitar lessons from Mike Flyntz when he got the gig with Riot. It was cool, he was like man I am about to go on a world tour...

How I wish that I could have seen Riot on this show. This is my favorite lineup and Thundersteel is my favorite album. Tony Moore is my favorite lead singer Riot ever had, but I love them all. Tony is just a beast of a singer. It is so amazing that he could do it live exactly like the studio songs.

@krevice This is power metal. What would you have expect? Old Riot was heavy metal before the line-up change when Tony Moore, the drummer and the bassist joined the band which led them into the mainstream with Thundersteel. Probably the most mainstream power metal album from the states.

Power metal is missing the elements it had back then. It could be progressive such as Fates Warning, Crimson Glory and it could be a mix of heavy and thrash and even heavy and melodic without being slick and poppy.

and your right, maybe not my favorite genre but i saw this line up as i told you. i saw fates warning as a THIRD on the bill opening for anthrax(1st post turbin show) and cities. saw sanctuary tour for both of their albums and would love to see those bands again

@krevice A lot better than today's most melodic power metal bands. Looking at today's standard for power metal it's too slick and melodic.

i saw this line up in a small club on long island years ago
generic high pitched singing and rhythms and melodies that were done to death. the real riot died when rhett quit!
