I admire john's no bullshit attitude about plowing ahead musically. feel like so many fans or whatever talk about whether or not ohsees is better or worse than their previous records or the "old stuff" and I feel like it's the wrong thing to focus on. the thing that makes the music so good for me is the forward direction and how it's always growing and changing just like everything in life does (or should). props to john and the rest of the group for doing what they want how they want.

I’d be interested to hear why he left Chris woodhouse that decision has always confused me because that era of oh sees seemed like the best sound for me personally... especially with the live in San Fran which I consider their best record. By far. he probably just got tired of that engineer but whatever. Anyways cool interview thanks, did a very good job.
    AND fun book suggestions

totally agree about the Chris Woodhouse era, weird exits and mutilator are the best sounding oh sees records imo

Yes very brilliant turn up the reverb take some meth start strumming / jamming for 10 minutes with very little structure and keep yelling "yay whooi!!" meanwhile the keyboard lady with no emotion fingers a few notes and acts like she's doing something. They've just been recycling the last four or five albums complete garbage. San Francisco meth heads who spend $15 on shitty IPA pints. I saw them live every song sounded the same-- jam band crap.

Couldn't agree more about covers. Either better than original or not at all.
