@@gandalf8216 opening a door is a muuuuuuuuuuuuch simpler concept. Firstly, there is never an incentive for a dog to want to say "hello". barking and other dog noises do just fine when it comes to greeting humans. On top of that, dogs don't even have close to the same vocal capabilities as humans, so even if *somehow* they were to maybe go for it, they would fail miserably and understandably not try again. a dog/cat could definitely attempt to open a door on their own because their anatomy easily allows them to and it has practical usage for the animal. literally, every animal uses their body to manipulate their surroundings. *animals aren't made to speak language. it's that simple.*
He only said hello after the famliy had been away from home for a while. As soon as we walked in the door. He probably did it once and incentive was our positive reaction. Kevin OMaolmhuaidh no that's you except you only think you are good looking and intelligent they aren't arrogant you are
We all love you and miss you, Scratch! She will always be the best talking dog on the internets!
Oh my goodness I absolutely love the way collies talk. What a beautiful girl. I'm glad she had a long and happy life. 💜
Dang, dfn hes in heaven now but i know he keeps saying helo to owner every morning😭
She’s soooo beautiful!!!! Gorgeous girl!!! Sad to hear she’s passed ☹️
I adore border collies! My dear one passed away late last year, at 13-and-a-half. I still can't get used to her not being around. So loving, so bright and so expressive.
When you see it was uploaded 15 years ago and you've owned enough dogs to know what that means 😥
Recommended after 15 years it’s like one of the best quality videos I’ve seen that’s so old😮😂
This is definitely a core memory. this brings smile to everyone watch this
Hooman: "say hello"
The doggos: "why do they keep telling me to say ass?"
LMAOOO
@@Juicersen relax it wasn’t that funny 😅
Gotta love how this shows up in my recommended almost 14 years later.
Border Collies are one of the prettiest pooches, if not the prettiest. I miss my girl Irie. RIP!
My childhood pet was a border collie
He also said Hello. We didn't even teach him. They are smart dogs!!!
:/ so you’re telling me the dog just said “hello” on its own...without any training...
@@ramiabdalla2661 Observational learning, and learning by mimicking. How do you think cats learn how to open doors? People training them?
I didn't state he had human cognition. What do want? I am not a scientist with a degree in canine behavior.
I post 1 comment in my life on a cute post.
Because my dog sounded very similar to this dog and I could relate.
And I get trolled. :)
Border collies are so damn smart. You can tell he’s genuinely trying to say what they are saying
Border collies are 1 of the smartes dogs
they're the smartest! and they have the best personalities!
CapiTen10 my collie house trained itself
They are #1, according to dog expert Stanley Coren. Even the physicist Neil Tyson de Grasse agreed with him on the story about Chaser.
Find me a ranking list that doesn’t rank them #1 I dare you. Mostly people go by the American Kennel Club’s ranking but basically all experts agree.
We had a greyhound collie mix. We taught her to say hello. It took time with training but she was so proud of herself. Soo cute! She distinctly used 2 syllables and it sounded like rerrr--oooo.
15 years, hopefully she resting in peace! or if she’s alive, hope she’s still enjoying many treats!
