Billy and my father were great friends and it was at our restaurant “Piledggi’s” where they celebrated Russ’s 90th birthday. It just so happened that on that night another friend of our family came in for dinner with his wife, he was an FBI agent and as soon as he walked in Billy ripped off his glasses and was staring down this guy. They both like to have the same waitress and there was one booth open next to Billy’s table but I knew that would not end well so I sat the guy and his wife in the bar area where they couldn’t see each other.

Im from Pittston Pa, as was the Bufalino/Sciandra families.I’ve lived here all my life, since 1969. Russ Buffalino was always very under the radar, a quiet man. He married my dad’s cousin Carrie Sciandra, my last name as well, and they lived a very modest
life here. The movie, The Irishman was very good, but didn’t give you a full picture of who Russel was as it was a movie more about Sheerans life with the mob. Russel had no children so unfortunately his true story is left for interpretation. And it’s now 2024… and the mob no longer rules.I did enjoy Billy’s book. Had some good stories in it.

My Dad knows his story as do I. They were grandparents to me. Check your grammar. Russell has 2 "L" s and Bufalino has one F. It makes me laugh when people try to speak like they knew Russ and Carrie. If you knew so much about them you would know how to spell their names. Another grandstander!😅

I grew up in Lk Orion in the 60s and 70s
We had some friends that lived on the same lake down the road from his house. I remember as a kid when all this happened w Hoffa. And our parents were visiting friends that lived within spitting distance of his house,
saying right threw those woods over the tracks is Hoffas house. I understand what it was all about.now My parents are in a cemetery down the street from his place. When I go there I always think about what ever happened to him?? I remember someone saying his car always stuck out the doorway of his garage it was so big./ long. Caddy or Lincoln I bet.
I’m still fascinated by the story. Probably because it’s so close to home.
We will never know what really happened to him. No.

I grew up in a small city in south western Ontario Canada. In my early years it was kind of Canada mob headquarters. I was in school with the Don's kids..we are talking over 50 years ago...lots of people hated us Italians...but it was pretty clear and they made it clear...you do business with the mob...it was their rules. What wasn't reported on was that same mob boss that contributed thousands of dollars to equip kids to play hockey...and not only did he pay thousands in equipment...he was at the rink at 6 am on a Saturday morning to watch these little kids play and practice. I know this for a fact because I had a part time job in the concession booth and he knew my parents and always came to see me and give me a hug...

Frank Sheeran’s WWII combat record was intense. He pulled 411 days, where the average was 100, as a military policeman (ironically enough) and may have been present when elements of his unit, the 45th Infantry Division, liberated the concentration camp at Dachau. In any case, he came back a walking embodiment of the hardened combat veteran, not unlike Dominic Montiglio after Vietnam.

Hello Mr. Franzese, could you tell the story of when there were a group of young guys kidnapping made men and ransoming them in the 60s? You said it took two decades for the mob to get revenge on all the perpetrators. This was when you were reviewing the Mafia 2 video game. I’ve never heard that story before, it sounds very interesting.

Thanks again Mr. Franzese for letting the public know who witnessed Hoffa getting buried alive, in Downtown Detroit Michigan, by Thomas Andretta and three others at the Renaissance Center Construction site on July 30 1975.
