This is my interpretation: Violins are depicted as high class in films and shows. But importantly, the notes played here is very common to symbolize wealth. 0:00 - 0:48 The joy of rich and fame 0:48 - 1:37 Betrayal and scandal, false safety. The start of tragedy.
When you take into consideration the angelic doll familiars and Kirsten form inside the computer of a pop idol on a circus podium, it becomes quite worrying.
This makes me think of person suffering from anxiety. "0.00 - 0.48 Everything's fine just keep going and smile" "0.49 - 1.00 No, I can't do this anymore" "1.00 - 1.09 Why am I such a mess.." "1.10 - 1.36 Everything's, Everything's fine!"
ok I'm not usually the one to over analyse but it's interesting how HN elly's theme contains a lot of violins descending and getting distorted and Sayaka's the one to defeat her as her first witch
Are you seriously trying to hint foreshadowing in Madoka Magica,of all things?Essentially everything would be considered foreshadowing in the damn series, just to make sure we wouldn't suffer a second "Episode 3" surprise.
Hansel and Gretel anyone..? the witch's theme reminds of how in the story she pretends to be friendly and good but once they discover they see her true nature
I think this Witch would fit well in the anime "Brave Beats". I don't care if it's a kids show and the Witch is creepy and weird ! We Europeans, particularly Germans, still read the original versions of the tales to educate our children.
How I think Elly became a witch: In Elly’s labyrinth there are carousel horses so I’m assuming her grief seed hatched at a carnival Elly was a little girl like Nagisa Momoe’s age Elly saw on TV that a carnival was opening up there was this specific ride she wanted to ride on the most when she got to the carnival she went to go ride the specific ride she wanted to ride on the most Elly was told she wasn’t tall enough to ride the specific ride she wanted to ride the most and then Elly felt grief and then her grief seed hatched.
Or maybe she was so famous that she couldn’t even do normal things like going onto carnival rides? Her labyrinth has carnival rides all around it yet she can’t experience it because she was trapped in a TV? I think her being inside the tv is a metaphor
+Shameimaru Aya Well, actually, Elly is also thought to be the name she uses on the internet rather than a stage name, and Kirsten would be her real name.

The violin is also symbolic as it represents Sayaka making her contract
Elly’s labyrinth makes it feel like your underwater.
It's supposed to be a snow globe, that's why.
Wouldn’t Elly’s labyrinth make you sick?
It’s literally spinning round and round over, over, and over again.
Most witch labyrinths are designed to confuse the prey's senses and render them defenseless.
Good point
Like a vinyl record
Given how Elly's labyrinth nearly caused a mass suicide - it's likely on purpose.

0:48 when to orchestra messes up once and then the whole song is just creepy from then on. 🎻🎺🎤🥁🎼

But I LOVE how they "find back". Such an amazing and elegant way to dissolve the tension

1:04 gives me a serious Symposium Magarum vibe. Foreshadowing much?
Are you seriously trying to hint foreshadowing in Madoka Magica,of all things?Essentially everything would be considered foreshadowing in the damn series, just to make sure we wouldn't suffer a second "Episode 3" surprise.
Liliana Portello That's because at that very time in the track,Sayaka appears in the scene.
I thought the same thing
Great use of dissonance! Reminds me of the Elektra chord.
1:00 gives me physical sadness
Sayaka Miki: GO TO HELL! (then killed H.N Elly)
don't know why this feels so sad
El Patrón All the witch's songs are sad in a way...
Every witch was once a magical girl so it only makes sense for them to sound sad.
I guess she wanted to become some kind of idol but then started to feel trapped behind the screen, or a fake persona.
What, it's just an ordinary piece of classicOH MY GOODNESS!
UROBUTCHEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!
the violin sound.. just like a girl's crying sound... creepy o.O
Hansel and Gretel anyone..?

The strings in the beginning is actually pretty scary if you open it on high volume and stare at the creepy image...
0:58 oktavia theme much? 🤔
Sayaka appears in this scene to save Madoka tho. So I guess that would make sense
Anyone else thinks this is Sailor Moon's witch form?
Boi, I was thinking the same thing.
Her inability to understand technology brought her to despair.

For me, it was the ponytails.
I'd like to know more about this witch and the magical girl she used to be

Elly is my favorite witch
Elly, minha bruxa preferida de todo o anime❤
Okay, I need to get this off my chest; am i the only one who notices that in the picture at 0:26, one of Elly's pigtails is smaller than the other?
LMAO! It's the lettering behind her~~~ You high as Mami~~~
+Katy Pugh Not to be mean but why is that important? Like who cares? IDK jst saying
+Jeff Martinetti Mami wasn't high XD lol
Katy Pugh She's probably standing at an angle
Let me remind you that nothing in this world is asymmetrical

That just like in a theme park
this music sounds like my life lol
I actually wonder her power when she was a magical girl hmmm...
Id say teleportation or control over somebody or just something related to technology
Its probably a mic and she blast sound waves to her opponent
The witch forms don't relate to their powers, though; they relate to how the meguca fell into despair.
