      Gail Ferrara Great I’m so glad to hear that makes my day. Please note that theAccelerator ‘s are no longer golden because they weren’t working as well is the original wood ones due to the size difference. I actually switched mine back in for the original style one which I’m happier with. The 12 ounce upgrade is still golden what all it was just theAccelerator that changed back.

    I like that wheel! The BIG bobbin is cool too. And i learned a new way of hanging on to the fiber i'm spinning when i have to stop for a min and need a 3rd hand.... i saw you hold it in between your knees. Better than me yelling to husband or two kids "hey come in here and hold this! " hahaha

    I placed a 2 x 6 x 18 inches long piece of wood next to spinolution cross bar to elevate my heels off the floor. It has made it easier for me to tredal my spinning. Just an idea that you may want to try, in the beginning I also used a think book.

    My fiber store says the echo wheel is one of the best . How does the Pollywog compare to that? I’m just not sure about spending that kind of money on the echo wheel I may not use as often as I should for the price I paid. I like smooth sailing with the treadle, I liked that echo don’t need to be oiled,and is self tensioning. So I’ve been told. What wheel would you suggest. I want the benefit of spinning fine to bulky as well. I like drop spindles to and just purchased the calypso kick spindle from heavenly handspinning, it’s fabulous. I like variety. Spinnolution seems to be fabulous for wheels. Would love you to recommend what you think for someone like me. Thank you for your videos and knowledge I appreciate it.

      Jean Lubo the echo is a great wheel. I think you can’t go wrong with any Spinolution. They all preform beautifully do t need to be oiled. Are economic etc. I would say it really depends on how much you’re wanting to spend large qualities of bulkier weight yarn. If you are fine with smaller Bobbins I think you would love a Polywog. They have a great price and if you decide you want the bigger Bobben in the future you can always upgrade even though the 12 ounce upgrade is pricey but at least that would let you delay making that decision and maybe not even ever want to. I have a couple other videos on my channel on is the pollywog right for me, comparing the pollywog to the bullfrog. And one I think that’s called getting bulky yarn on a Polywog Bobbin. If you haven’t seen those yet I think they would answer a lot of your questions by letting you see them in action. All of that being said I personally think the brand new bullfrog is a better deal than the echo. Mainly because it has five gears, golden whirl technology which is great for fine yarns even on a giant Bobbins. It also has big 16 oz bobbins so you could go to town on bulky weight or lots of yardage. It also folds and has a built-in lazy Kate so you wouldn’t have to purchase that separately. I think if you are not sure if spinning going to be something you want to invest lot of money in then get a basic Polly and possibly upgrade with the 12 oz later. If bulky yarn and lots of yardage is really calling your name I would definitely say the bullfrog would be your best bang for your buck. craftyhousewifeyarns.com/handspunyarnshop/?category=Spinolution is where you can compare all the models.
      Did that help?
      Thanks

    Hi Erin, thanks for all the details of spinning on the Pollywog. Question: is the lazy kate removable?

    • @Feralscene
      @Feralscene  7 років тому

      Maryann Gorman the metal pegs can
      Easily come off and have a little storage slot they hide in but the wooden top is part of the head. Hope that helps. Hit me up with any other questions

    Are the accelerators still metal currently? I just bought a new Polly and my accelerator is wooden!

    • @Feralscene
      @Feralscene  5 років тому

      Excellent question they actually went back to wooden because they were superior to the metal ones. I had a metal one and then they offered to give me a wooden one if I mailed it back which I did so now I have a wooden one. Because the metal ones were smaller it made for awkward treading due to weird angles. Sounds weird I know but trust me having the wooden one is the way to go.

      Good to know, I thought I was losing my mind because all the ones I've seen were wooden 😂

    Hi Erin. The new gold technology, what is the difference? Can you buy it and put on your Pollywog? Thanks Peggy. Oh do you have a group on Ravelry?

    • @Feralscene
      @Feralscene  7 років тому

      Hi Peggy , the new gold technology enables for the fastest pinning speeds in the industry. Which is great if you like to spin very thin yarn or fibers with short fiber lengths like cotton flax etc. the previous technology is also great for thin yarn but this is better so if that’s your main focus you would love it. Spinolution is also just great at moving forward with new innovations in general. The gold color is just fun the main difference is the metal and something with the rod that enables free spinning and super fast speeds. As far as your question for adding it to your Polly. You’re in luck, the pollywog even when the whorl isn’t colored gold is the new technology. It’s the newest wheel and when they started working on the new tech. The gold Accelerator accessory if ordered now would fit on your original pollywog. That’s how mine is. , new accessories on an original Pollywog. I do not have a ravelry group, but I do have a Facebook group I run special sales and fun things in so I would encourage joining. I answer questions for people, everyone has input on new collections and that’s where I share the most news. m.facebook.com/groups/1813829192262097

    How do you prevent from over twist vs uptake

    • @Feralscene
      @Feralscene  2 роки тому +1

      If you’re getting over twist slow your feet some or try a larger ratio. You can increase the tension for more uptake.
      I have a video on too much twist.

      @@Feralscene I have a used spinolution polywog I just purchased. The tension spring doesn't seem to loosen up when I release. Is there a trick to knocking if I am doing it correctly. Does the felt on the tension ever need to be replaced?

      I know you are self taught. How long did it take you to become skilled in spinning?

    • @Feralscene
      @Feralscene  2 роки тому

      @@sandracontreras3232 Well I still think there are many people more skilled than myself but I know I'm enjoying what I'm doing and have a good grasp on what I'm doing and how to teach people. I've been spinning for 6 years. I'd say I had most of my growth in the first year.
