One of the arguments against paying off a mortgage early is the liquidity crunch it creates on your monthly finances. Bringing recasting into one's strategy somewhat counteracts this downside by lowering the mortgage bill indefinitely into the future. Plus, if this is done on top of investing appropriate amounts into tax-advantaged retirement accounts, it seems like a pretty sound strategy.

We absolutely hate paying interest on anything including Mortgage. We saved cash to build. Still in the process of building our retirement house. Our daughter also bought land and cash as they go.
