Man, Notre dame could go 12-0 and still have to be a 5 seed…… make that make sense. The next playoff expansion should just be all at large and the best teams get byes
Well for starters Notre Dame is in independent and not in a conference by choice, we also know there is a biase for conf championships. 2 it's a pretty good deal for ND Because they would get a first round home game against a low ranked team most likely a g5 team. Also we get our first round bye during conference championship week since we don't play.
this is better for notre dame as we would get the bye while everyone is playing their conference title game, and get to play at home round 1 vs a g5 team
They should just make the t rankings, not 5 conference champions. That way a team like Louisville or Miami doesn’t pull off some championship upset against a team like Clemson or Florida State and get a 4 seed
I will never agree with them being in the playoffs no matter how tough or easy their schedule is until they join a conference! I don't care if they're undefeated or not! Play in a conference or fu@koff! You're not special and already get ranked higher than you deserve at almost any point in time during any season! I hate Notre Dame for that one and only reason!!! They play in the acc In most everything else, but can't sack up and join in football! That should be a rule that you must be from a conference that has a championship!
So then the regular season just doesn't matter? This is one of the dumbest takes I've ever heard lol. And if you knew cfb history, ND tried to join the big 10 on more than one occasion but Michigan shot it down. So ND gave them the finger and then stayed independent and became one of the most well known programs in the country. At this point, joining a conference doesn't mean much at all.
@@loganmurphy3866 I know cfb history, and they didn't want them because they demanded way to much. That's why no other conference would have the princess, even the sec, but if they can read the writing on the wall, they would find that they could join anyone of them they wanted to nowadays, especially with the NIL deals and realignment of all the conferences.
Imagine being this upset over this lol ND is def good enough to be where we’ve been, but we’re not good enough to get past where we’ve been. 🤷🏻♂️ we handle our L’s and move on. We make less money than every school in the SEC, BIG TEN, and ACC by not joining a conference. But you’d probably never wanna hear that stat cuz it doesn’t fit your narrative. We’ll handle ourselves, you worry about how the vols will continue being subpar to Georgia and Bama every year.. along with all the newcomers to the SEC that’ll also work yall
Sorry ur a vols fan…that must be quite depressing. No chance ever since u r in a conference. Imagine if u were independent and maybe u could make the playoffs

our bye week is during conf championship week
Jack Swarbrick literally designed it like that. Make that 12 seed Southern team come to South Bend in 5 degrees weather

schedule is soft - only 8 P4 games
That schedule - only 8 P4 games on the schedule #Woof
I am looking forward to a home game in the playoffs in December! Bring the cold and the snow!!
Freeman won 9 games year 1 and 10 games last year.
