Thanks for watching guys! I'm starting Monster Hunter World (my VERY FIRST MH) live on Twitch tonight at 6 PM EST. Come say hi in chat! www.twitch.tv/gaijinhideout
You're looking for crazy and exotic monsters like the railgun wyvern you saw? Oh don't you worry, monster hunter has you covered when it comes to crazy and exotic monsters.
doing MHW right now would be the perfect timing to wait and build the hype for Wilds. I'd be definitely tune in with the series, it's always very entertaining to watch new hunter.
I love the series, especially the monsters because they aren’t just “monsters” they are more like everyday animals, and interactions with their environment and others can tell you everything you need to know about them!
I recommend reacting the Focus Mode, Basic Mechanics and the daily trailer drops (they drop at 1am PDT) of each weapon class showcases to get a good overview for MHWilds; Currently Great Sword, Gunlance, Heavy Bowgun, Insect Glaive and Hunting Horn have been shown off.
Very glad I saw this! We always welcome new hunters! I'm sure plenty of others have already said this but there's a steep learning curve for beginners but once it "clicks", as we veterans call it, it's smooth sailing and so much fun from then on! I definitely recommend just playing with all the weapons that interest you in the provided training area once you start Monster Hunter World, getting the basics down will help out a ton and leave more room for fun! Happy Hunting! I'll be there for the stream tonight!
Pretty excited for this one. Can’t wait to sell a kidney for it Also, you mentioned one character’s “exotic outfit”. Monster Hunter is all about hunting the biggest, baddest things you can manage so you can WEAR them and then beat even bigger, badder things. The armour tends to look pretty insane sometimes, but they’re very creative. (Plus there’s usually layered armour, so you can have the best stats AND looks by wearing what you like over top)
Ye, there's armor pieces, and weapon types. 14 weapon types, and each weapon type has many different weapons. Both weapons and armor pieces can be crafted with monsters materials and can also upgraded. There's tons of combinations you can do, because weapons also have elemental damage or statuses like paralysis, and many other stats. Usually you pick up your main weapon type during the first hours of gameplay @@gaijinhideout
Everyone knows the best big sword is the switch axe! It's an axe that turns into a sword that you shove into a monster's face and blow up their insides!
Just recently got into Monster Hunter World and it already had its fangs within my grasp the first monster I fought. Wilds looks to up the ante 10 fold. And it looks beautiful on that crisp RE Engine Capcom has been slaying on since Resident Evil Biohazard back in 2017 Also just so you know, this game also has camp sites you can set up and yes they can also be destroyed by monsters. And you can also recruit AI as well as other real players to help you out in fights.
The level of hype for this game is real. Especially since it is finally cross platform. I'll get it for PS5, most of my friends on steam, and we're gonna have a great time. I promise you won't be disappointed should you purchase it. The "DLC" packs are free, or at least they have been in every other game.
Ever seen a jet powered Dragon? And yeah in term of fine weapon mechanic designs, MH is the top. It's could be hard like getting throw into water the first time but once you learn how to swim everything is so smooth and satisfying, every weapon is so unique with their own characteristics that picking up a new weapon will take you hours and hours to learn it and it's essentially different classes rather than just weapons.
I suggest playing Monster Hunter World to prepare for MH Wilds, the "return to World campaign started some months ago and there are a lot of hunters to play with! Also it's my favorite game ever!
You should watch the other basic mechanics videos and weapon previews they released. There's a new weapon shown off every day until gamescom on the 20th
Wait, you've been making all this Monster Hunter content without playing? Well, it's never too late, I saw you started World last night and I hope you're enjoying it. I've been playing since Freedom Unite on PSP and I have loved it ever since.
Oddly enough, MH scratches the same itch as pokemon does for me. For the first few decades of my life, the pokemon series was my favorite, but as of getting into MH with World, it's the same feeling and motivation, only with actual games of quality, haha.
It should be known Monster Hunter isn’t just about slaying horrifying beasts for survival, it’s about hunting and researching all creatures you come across to learn more about them, their place in the environment, and how to maintain balance. Every monster plays a part in their ecosystem and it isn’t until much later you come across new monsters, usually called Elder Dragons, that do not fit the mold of standard biology and pose a threat to the delicate balance. This series isn’t about domination or a struggle to survive, it’s about immersing yourself in the world, the monsters, the characters, and becoming part of this culture of danger and excitement. You’re facing off against great beasts but they’re more akin to animals with predictable behaviours and day to day lives rather than some demons burning villages or something. The new monsters introduced in Wilds thus far as pretty gross looking compared to older ones, but they’re still highly adapted to living in this desert locale. Perhaps in a later trailer they’ll reveal other places, or perhaps they’ll save that for launch.
They are 100% still holding back even here. Most of this seems like it's pretty early game content. Especially the more on-rail looking scenes feel like a classic Monster Hunter prologue scene. They didn't even show more than the first biome or so, and monster hunter games usually have at least 4 biomes. The thunder dragon thing seems like a mid game monster. Monster hunter games don't usually try to oversell the experience in trailers as much as most AAA games imo. I would even say, they tend to undersell themselves quite a bit.
Comparing MH combat with Elden ring combat is like comparing food to literal shit lol. MH is not an rpg and its combat is waaaay superior, It's not even close actually. The game has been evolving the same weapons for 20 years:P It's not even a fair comparison because these 2 are different games. It goes the other way if you compare world/exploration and builds. In these Elden ring craps all over MH.
Play Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (ykw, play all of them but those two are closer to what Wilds will be). They're the two most recent installement of the frachise and good apetizers for what's coming. If you're looking for crazy exotic/semi realistic monster design and crazy concepts, while having spectacular fights, those two games are perfect. Wanna see B-52 bomber pterodactyl, a prehistoric electromagnetic pregnant dragon, a Goku mandrill that eat unicorns or an ice-armored werewolf ? Don't look further and join the hunt 🫵

My man. You're gonna L O V E this.
seems like it!
Fair warning. Monster Hunter is like crack and after you really understand the franchise no other game hits the same (imo)
Agreed
I think capcom just has combat and boss fights down. Bad bosses in Capcom games are usually few and far between lol
It's my opinion too
FACT.
Souls games come to mind.

Never fear, the desert is but one biome. MH never fails to have a massive variety in hunting grounds
I suggest playing Monster Hunter World to prepare for MH Wilds, the "return to World campaign started some months ago and there are a lot of hunters to play with! Also it's my favorite game ever!
just to let you know, the devs at capcom said that there will be more variety in the areas, so its not all just the desert area
You should watch the other basic mechanics videos and weapon previews they released. There's a new weapon shown off every day until gamescom on the 20th
They confirmed that there will be multiple locations apart just the desert and savanna region.
there are different biomes you go to like maps each with its own ecosystem of monsters

Trust me, they don't show the crazy awesome monsters till much later
If you think the Wyvern that shoots lightning is crazy..
Wait till you see the MK52 Bomber...
Or the Jet Dragon.
Needs more crazy monsters? You should watch some of Monster Hunter World's or Rise's cutscenes. Fatalis, Alatreon, and Xeno Jiiva
It's a great franchise, also one of the best fanbase imo.
