Watching Erik breakdown about the story of the kid with light up shoes and relating it to Flynn was completely heartbreaking. And I agree with your stance on guns 100%. I’m from the UK and I have never once had to worry about being in a shooting. I have never seen a regular person with real gun before. We never had to learn a drill in school just in case and I always felt safe while I was there. I will never understand why the states and the government values guns over people so much. Sending lots of love and healing to everyone in the US and especially for the families in Texas that were effected ❤️
That was perfectly put into words. You can try to run from a knife but you won't be able to out run a bullet. I wish that we had stiffer regulations on the sales of guns and that semi automatic weapons weren't for sale to non military personnel. Semi automatic weapons are used to wipe out EVERYTHING in your vision. They aren't used for hunting animals, they would Obliterate a deer or antelope, and nothing but a chunk of fur would be salvageable hunting squirrel or rabbit. We need stiffer regulations and a ban of who can and can't get semi automatic weapons. And I would make sure they had training and that they needed a full Psychiatric evaluation before the sale and a 2 week waiting period before they actually could take the gun home would be made. And the age limit needs to be raised to 24 and up. No body below that can buy a gun. And a child under 20 can't have a hunting license or a gun permit without specific regulations that they can't use the weapon without parents guidance. If I was a law maker I would make all the things I listed as law.

So glad Erik brought up gun violence. Definitely not easy to speak your opinion publicly on the government and things like that. I also agree with Colleen, background checks AT LEAST. That’s the least they can do but we still don’t. And I do go in places and have that exact same thought of “anyone in here can have a gun” Stay safe you guys, much love and prayers are being sent your way

I am in tears. I will never understand why the right to bare arms or whatever it is called... is more important than childrens', peoples' lives. Your little ones should be able to go to school and learn in a completely safe environment! It breaks my heart to pieces that anyone could send their child to SCHOOL and then not be able to tuck them in at night. It just doesn't make sense, at all. A life should be, IS, more important than owning some stupid gun.

I truly love you guys for talking about the gun law issues in this country. Having a platform and saying GUNS ARE THE PROBLEM is hopefully impactful to other people and allows them to open their mind up .
I've always thought Erik had incredible passion, strength, and compassion. You can tell that both he and Colleen feel things very deeply, and their love for their family and their community of friends has always shown that. I have seen Colleen's consistent fight to help the families of kids with cancer, how powerfully her experience with that work affects her, and the powerful effect that her platform and audience can have. Seeing that same desire to fight to help and protect his family and other Americans and the conviction of his words and actions over gun control weas incredible. I appreciate him opening up about his intense frustration, which I share, and I'm sure many people in America are feeling after the daily gun violence our country has seen for decades, and which seems to be only getting worse. Erik speaking up, despite the criticism he will almost definitely face, was encouraging and beautifully raw and honest. Thank you both for sharing your thoughts, fears, and strong feelings on the podcast. It does make a difference. I feel more hopeful just hearing that I'm not alone in my anger and that people I admire share my desire to make effective and lasting change. Perhaps "Nothing Is Possible" could mean it's possible to achieve a state of no more terror over gun safety and control. A state of peace. It doesn't have to mean there is nothing we can do concerning gun violence, but instead that nothing will stop us from achieving a day where there are no more mass shootings, no more gun deaths of innocent children and adults (by others -including by police-, by their own hand, or by accident), and a time when the daily violence is over for good. That day is possible. Like you both said, there are many small steps that can be taken to help this problem and make progress toward a better, safer future for everyone, including gun owners and their kids, who are also at risk.
When I was out with my triplets and older kids people used to say….I’m glad it’s you and not me! So I had a tshirt made that said Yes they’re triplets! I’m glad it’s me & not you too! Lol
watching Erik breakdown shattered me.. his dad heart hurts understandably so .. the hearts of America and else where hurt for those families.. we need change and need change quickly
It’s sad cause kids aren’t allowed to be kids anymore. Glow up shoes are so cool and kids should be able to wear them and have fun with them. But now they gotta have more adult worries. Childhood is simply becoming less child-like. It’s so heartbreaking. And reason nothing is getting done is money, simply.
Even though your department store experience sounds terrifying (also very anxious person), THANK YOU for having these experiences with your children before they enter school. There is a lot these kids haven’t experienced during the pandemic age and so they enter school without some of the social and listening skills they need for public spaces.
With the whole gun chat, I am recently graduated from high school and practicing for potential fun violence was seen as normal and routine and it’s AWFUL. We would just go through the motions and we would hear about things like that happening and me and other students wouldn’t be phased or surprised. It SHOULD NOT be that way, but that’s how it is unfortunately. I live in Kansas where people love their guns so it’s really hard. And it’s a subject I can’t talk about without being argued with. I appreciate you guys speaking up on it. Thank you. I appreciate the tough chats you have cause they are important things to talk about. Appreciate you guys.
I’m so glad you guys have mentioned these really important subjects. It means so much that you didn’t just avoid it this is so important! I love you guys so much

i balled my eyes out in the beginning. i relate colleen. i worry about losing my life just going out to the store or just public in general. but i’m fortunate enough to get to do online school instead of go to public school and i feel so lucky. i’m sorry to everyone who has lost a loved one from a school shooting or just shooting in general. my heart goes out to all of you. we should have to fear for our lives just going in public.
Re: the twins. One of my nurses makes sure if she has to take her twins out to get food that she sits as remotely as possible because she's noticed the need for people to come up to them & it makes her overwhelmed. After that I've done the little smile thing and moved on around kids lol 😂 I don't want to be another pressure for parents right now.❤️
It was so inspiring to hear Erik be so passionate ab the Texas situation. In November 2019, my high school had a shooting (Saugus HS in Santa Clarita, not too far from where Erik and Colleen are). I remember sitting in a classroom with my friend waiting for class to start, and we were actually watching a Colleen vlog when we heard a gunshot and sat in a locked classroom with just a few other people, crying and scared. I lost a very close friend of mine that day, and she was 1 of 2 kids who died, + the 16 year old gunman. what’s worse is that he used a self-assembled “ghost gun” with no serial number, so even stricter background checks and most legislative bills wouldn’t have been able to prevent it. Absolutely heartbreaking 💔
I absolutely agree. I’m not a parent but I work at a school and the kids are literally the best part of working at a school. Literally there is no need for those types of weapons to be available for normal citizens. People full of hate or that are mentally ill can use these weapons literally against anyone and it is NOT ok. Something has to be changed because too many innocent lives have been lost!
I am a grandma of four. When I see your scenario, I hesitate. I know I can help in those situations, but am afraid that the parent will think I am out to kidnap their baby. So, my question is, would you really accept the help or would you run away in fear?
Erik being so passionate about the gun laws was great to see. It’s heartbreaking that people with children have to think that way, and I’m behind you guys 100% ❤️

It’s so mind boggling to me that our representatives have been paid by the NRA to hold us hostage in this scary place. I have not forgotten how very much has changed. I will continue to vote for our safety and donate to those fighting for it. I am fighting for you! I hope you will join me. You deserve better. We all do. We can’t enjoy our freedom without safety!🇺🇸
get a gun, it'll protect u 100% of the time. living every day in fear isn't living. and being a woman u need to be extra safe...really learn about guns and how to shoot it can't help if ur not comfortable or a good aim. if ur life is on the line u don't want to be hoping the police make it before ur seriously harmed. life doesn't have to be scary just protect yourself criminals don't follow laws so strict gun laws won't help u, it's not hard to get an illegal gun and pepper spray doesn't compare when they have a gun
@@alyssahamlett guns are the problem. why fight fire with fire? if we wouldn't be able to obtain guns so easily, we wouldn't need to protect ourself like this. it's incredibly sad :(
Learn how to protect yourself. Your safety isn’t anyones problem except yours.
I’m actually obsessed with the blazers on you, they’re really cute and polished. Especially the white one, you really pull it off in a casual way
My RELAX: Small talk needs to relax and as an extension, the fact that outgoing or extroverted behavior is the desirable societal way to act.
When someone asked my aunt, "What's your name, little girl?" She responded, "Cathy Dammit" because her mother would always yell at her "Cathy, dammit, stop doing xyz.." One of our most fave family stories!
omg that’s gold😂
I love you guys. I hope you don’t ever feel bad about speaking out or “getting political” as if it’s a bad thing. It’s not, and you’re objectively on the right side of history here
Relax: the under-the-cap condiment seals that sometimes have no lip to help peel it off… like sorry, spicy mustard, I don’t want you that bad.
This are so frustrating!
🤣same. If I have to perform surgical maneuvers for my condiments, no thanks!
Different ways of last name positioning “Ballinstock” “Stocklinger”
I like both. Combined last names. I love it.
I'm personally a fan of Balllin, with three "L"s.
I like Ballinger-Stocklin
Ballinstock reminds me too much of Berkenstock 😂
I like stocklinger
chris’ editing! we appreciate the personality now that we have a face to put it with💯🤌🏼
“I’m leaving this family!” I am cry laughing because that is a very Erik situation 💚✌🏻
Erik, don’t hide your passion. Everyone watching this podcast is in the same mindset as you and we’re all crying with you. I love you guys and you are comfort in this effffed up world 💕
So glad Erik brought up gun violence. Definitely not easy to speak your opinion publicly on the government and things like that. I also agree with Colleen, background checks AT LEAST. That’s the least they can do but we still don’t. And I do go in places and have that exact same thought of “anyone in here can have a gun” Stay safe you guys, much love and prayers are being sent your way
My Relax: When you’re driving and people don’t move out of the way for ambulances despite having ample time to do so!
Eric I'm so with you in your anger. Being Canadian my heart is truly broken for all the parents in the US having to send their babies to school and never knowing if this is the day it happens to them. You are all so much stronger then I am. Sending love.
The last 10 minutes of this podcast is just Erik exposing his professor fetish 😭😂
I thought the same thing 😂😂😂
I love have open Eric is now compared to a year ago when you first started doing podcast. This is my favorite podcast ❤️ you guys are so fun to watch!
My relax this week is 100% having to come back from being sick! People just expect you to have “caught up” with everything while you were away despite the fact you were sick. And then, you get told that you have more work to do and somehow you need to catch up on the old work while staying on top of the new work. It’s impossible. Love you both!!!
It is so brutal having to play catch up after being sick! 😱🙊
Erik, thank you sincerely for sharing. People look up to you, so please don’t stop.💕
Erik I love you for saying this (about doing something/guns conversation). Colleen and Erik thank you both for saying something.
I almost cried with Eric when he was talking about the shootings happening here. It’s sooo scary…we deserve some laws to help keep us all safe , our children need to be safe and the NRA needs to shut up and stop being greedy assholes.
Yes! We can’t enjoy freedom without safety!! It’s time the NRA stops buying our representatives for power!! They have paid for this…infuriating! We’ve gotta vote for our safety and make sure we are LOUD in any way possible!!
This country is heading in a very scary direction.
I agree with Erik's Relax. Mine was going to be the same thing. Recently a distant family member of mine committed suicide by cop, pulling a bb gun that appeared to be a handgun on a cop, forcing the police to defend himself.
I'm really sorry. Peace for you and your family. 💔
Im so sorry i had a simialar thing happen to my family friend he was an veteran and had bad ptsd and had a gun and he didnt have a bad mental state and he put the gun in the air infront of the cop and was shot.
My heart goes out to you and your family. Its so hard and I hope you and your family start your journey of healing whenever needed.
Relax: Those paper-like price tag stickers that just tear & rip when you try to peel them off & then that sticker gunk gets left behind & it’s impossible to get off … p.s. just got tickets for your Anaheim show can’t wait love you !!!
Thank you. Thank you for vocalizing your perspective on gun violence. It is devastating and uncalled for. Something must be done. Thank you for using your platform. As Eric said “I usually don’t but I just CANT NOT.” My heart breaks with you and I feel your frustrations. We MUST change.
My relax is: how annoying is when you heat up a plate of food in the microwave and by touching the plate you get a 3rd degree burn but the food is cold asf**❄️😭
Microwave covers really help! They allow steam to build up and the food will heat up better. They also prevent splatters
As a Kindergarten teacher in Texas, I'm so so thankful that you guys are using your platform to talk about this. Unfortunately, I feel as though nothing is going to change... especially in Texas. Nothing is possible in Texas. 🥴
i liked that they talked about gun control. def. needs to be spoken about more.
I can’t believe how much I laughed when you guys talking about Flynn. He’s funny without even trying. The poop conversation had be rolling 😂
I want “Idiot, trying to be okay” on a shirt
Colleen wearing age-appropriate clothing: I feel so old!
Well, honey………. Connect the dots. 😂
At that age with three kids, it’s okay to dress „old“ and look like a fashionable working Mom in her 30s (because that’s who you are).
It’s also fine to wear whatever the f… you want and look „like a teenager“ (because that’s also who you are)!
Love all of you and in the comments, the suggested makeover was really really good, please wear whatever you want. It’s just clothes…. 😘
Thank you for speaking up on the gun issue. It's completely out of control, and so sad. My son is a 4th grade teacher so the TX shootings hit just a little closer to home than usual.
PREACH ERIK!! Thank you for using your voice ❤️
My relax: bug bites in the most inconvenient, uncomfortable places like in between your fingers, bottom of your foot, face, etc. I swear these bug bites itch the most too.
Underneath the butt cheak 😭😭😭
As a Canadian ill never be able to understand gun laws in America and how these shootings happen. My heart goes out to you guys im sorry 😞
Living in the US is scary
As an American, I will never understand why there ARE NOT any gun laws after so many tragedies due to gun violence.
I’m so happy for another podcast!! I really needed to see this now thank you Colleen and Erik for all the podcasts they always seem to be posted at just the right time!!!!
I’ve been binge watching ALL of Relax the podcast this week and I’m almost all the way done! I’m obsessed with you guys 😍
26:34 Colleen said “we’ll who watches all the vlogs”
Me girl, me. I’ve watched every single one since Flynn was born, I’ve never missed one. I’m always the first person to view it too. Love you Colleen with all my heart ❤️
I miss Erik's quirky songs...I vote for a new song on the next pod please 😊
Yesss please!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Boosting, bring it Erik🎶🎸🎤
I want to say Thank you Erik! I’m so freaking tired of it too. Thank you for speaking up and using your platform! 💕
Thank you for addressing this horrible American only gun problem. You made me cry with your emotions. 💔
“Undercover security” made me think you were talking about target lol. Also my fiancé and I are planning to move from New York to Canada in a few years (hopefully🤞🏼) before we have kids. We are way too terrified to raise kids here. We’re terrified for ourselves. Plus we agree with a lot of other things there anyway. I hate winter but I’ll take it over this bs. We want my fiancé to have a few years in his career to give him a better opportunity to get accepted by a job in Canada. We just can’t do it anymore
so happy for you guys!! wishing nothing but safety and health to your family ❤️ it’s insane that basically any and all of canada’s gun problems stem from bordering USA. we are truly an embarrassment. best of luck i know you guys will be successful ❤️
All of these outfits look amazing, the first is great I feel like the second suits your personality more and the cargo pants, cool but not my thing but they suit you a lot !!! Love from Ireland :))
I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe and started crying at the story of Flynn with your shoe
Thank you, Erik and Colleen. My heart and values are in sync with yours. I am so grateful to know that I am not alone. You two are a breath of fresh air, a sigh of relief in this scary world and I'm glad to know you two but not actually know you at all.
I was dead with the “fucking daisy” story 😂😂😂
i just want to say you guys make my day everyday, i love your beautiful family. you are such amazing parents colleen and erik:)))
Catching up on episodes I missed. Thank you for speaking out Eric! It is completely necessary!
My kids are in the teens and early 20s but this made me laugh and brought back so many memories!! I love these stories so much!!
Same! The good ol’ days…and the neighbor wasn’t EXACTLY wrong! He may have gotten the baby twins part wrong, but EVERY stage has its own trials for sure! It’s ALL hard! I really miss the just bathed smell and snuggly “stay where you put them” stage. Oh and sweet baby feet🥹The poem “babies don’t keep” still brings me to tears!! But, so does “F’ing Daisy”, just tears of laughter🤣 I’d pay to see THAT🤣 My mom told me that our job as a mother is to teach your way out of your work. So, if you do it well in the beginning it will be easier when they are grown. I believe her. She also said (and I’m her only child) that she let me live for the grand babies😳😂 I get it now🤪Take care and hopefully our next stage will be easier than our last🫣😂✌🏼
@@marionsicard6479 I got advice from a fellow mom when mine were little, she said "Just when you think you can't take it anymore it changes". That was so true! Sometimes it was a good change and sometimes it wasn't but it always changed! I remember standing in my kitchen sobbing when my oldest had colic and thinking it was going to be like that for 18 years! Lol!
It was all worth it though because my oldest are the nicest, hardworking, loving men I've ever known. As far as the teens? Please pray for me! 🤦🏼♀️
Erics movie reference jokes falling flat kills me lol "Girl and Girl, Shining"...tumbleweed
Thank you for speaking up Eric. It’s so important!💙
Yayyy! I was wondering why my favorite pod cast wasn’t out on Thursday!? Rocking my teething baby, turned on UA-cam & here it is! So excited 🎉🎉🎉
Hopefully your baby feels some relief from teething soon! 🙏🏼
@@sngray11 thank you 🙏🏼
I live about 20 minutes outside of Buffalo, but Buffalo is my home. It’s a tragedy and now there was the shooting in Tulsa.. honestly a lot of us unknowingly become a bit desensitized hearing about all these shootings but when it actually happens in your backyard and your city becomes a headline across the country it really hits different. Thank you for talking about it
Thank you Erik for being so loving and compassionate and bringing this up. Its not a political podcast but you saying something means so much! You really have such a big heart and know as a parent with an almost 5 year old... I know you'll be really terrified now with another two. You both really are amazing!
I agree and now we will see just how powerful the gun lobbyists are.
I live in an open carry state. My ikea actually says on the door “No guns”
I live in Texas. The politicians are too much, and I do not understand.. Thank you for sharing your hearts, your convictions.❤
my relax for the weekkkkk:
my relax is when my handwriting only looks good when the pencil lead is at a certain shade or certain tip. like why can’t the pencil be consistent 😭
love, sophia ❤️🫶❤️
I truly love you guys for talking about the gun law issues in this country. Having a platform and saying GUNS ARE THE PROBLEM is hopefully impactful to other people and allows them to open their mind up .
Long Covid needs to relax! So many suffering and it’s not really being talked about enough. Love you guys! ❤️
Seeing Erik get emotional really got to me 😢
I've always thought Erik had incredible passion, strength, and compassion.
Thank you so much for speaking out against gun violence.
The glass story has my laughhhing so hard “it was like we won the World Series, celebrities” I love that
My uncles best friend and his daughter died in the buffalo shooting. It affects people. It has affected me. Things need to change.
Loved watching the podcast! Definitely made laugh and smile.
Thank you so much for bringing this up it’s GOTTA be talked about!
I wanna know if Erik gets recognized/ fan comes up to him in public when he’s alone
He’s an actor so probably
Even though your department store experience sounds terrifying (also very anxious person), THANK YOU for having these experiences with your children before they enter school. There is a lot these kids haven’t experienced during the pandemic age and so they enter school without some of the social and listening skills they need for public spaces.
This was possibly the funniest episode YET!! I could NOT stop laughing!! Thanks for the giggles! love you guys🥰
Wear the light blue with the yellow pants! Trust I feel it will match in a pastle colors way. Maybe wear the theater kid shirt with it!
I’m so glad you guys have mentioned these really important subjects. It means so much that you didn’t just avoid it this is so important! I love you guys so much
Relax: people in school who just ask your score on a test to flex their own grade
My relax is for honestly this whole year! The 2022 Engagement/Wedding/Baby Boom needs to relax. Every single person on my feed on every single social media account I have is getting married or having a baby. I am so happy for them and so excited, but also…relax
I want to add to your comment. My relax includes family members & friends that ask when hubby & I will have kids since we were the first out of all cousins that got married.
My relax for the week is tax, like if you buy a 2$ piece of candy it suddenly becomes 8$ it’s absolutely insane.
Thanks for this podcast! It gets me through my days at work on Wednesday
Love you guys! I look forward to the podcasts every week! ❤️
Omg the clothes really did look so great! The second outfit option def looked better without the blazer. But the blazer was super cute. Maybe try that with darker denim skinny jeans :)
“this is my date night” would be a good slogan too!!
i balled my eyes out in the beginning. i relate colleen. i worry about losing my life just going out to the store or just public in general. but i’m fortunate enough to get to do online school instead of go to public school and i feel so lucky. i’m sorry to everyone who has lost a loved one from a school shooting or just shooting in general. my heart goes out to all of you. we should have to fear for our lives just going in public.
Colleen, all of the outfits look 10/10 on you. Like SO good.
I think they wouldn’t want any stranger to hold or touch the babies. Especially with the Co-co19
Stranger danger. I would not want strangers handling my kids under any circumstances
Erik being so passionate about the gun laws was great to see. It’s heartbreaking that people with children have to think that way, and I’m behind you guys 100% ❤️
