Absolutely stunning scenery!
It's a pretty spectacular climb.
Jelly babies!! Mountains are nice but I'm jealous of the candy. :)
We brought them with us, I couldn't remember if they have the in France. A must for hiking and cycling moutains :D
I found myself grinning as you were accelerating down, down, down... Looks amazing! Great video.
Glad that how much fun it was came accross in the video, and that you enjoyed watching it.
You've got a very soothing voice. Thanks for the humble video, not showing off but making it enjoyable to watch.
After several passes in Swityerland and Italy, hoping to explore France cols this year :)
heading there on Friday - can't wait!
Lovely video, thank you 😀
I’ve watched the tour race up there so many times, but that’s the first time I’ve seen it from a riders viewpoint. Certainly is spectacular scenery.
Well Done you guys! So glad you got to share and enjoy it so much.
Fantastic video
Stunning👍captured on film beautifully , well done to both of you.👍😎
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome ride, congrats 👏👏🚲..love your blogs.. Keep me coming ..
🙏Glad you enjoy them, they are fun to make 😁
Amazing ride! I have to say I’m a little jealous.
Stunning scenary, fair play doing that climb! You both did so well.
Thanks! Those quiet roads and that scenery make it all worth it (and the satisfaction of making it to the top with your own legs!).
@@OneLessCar Absolutely! I'm still buzzing from my first 22 mile ride the other day, maybe one day i'll be heading up climbs like that.
Great video,I did it the easy way last year on a motorbike, fantastic views even if they were easily earned all the best and stay safe 🚴🏻🚴🏻👍
Not sure if it is the easy way. On the way back we took the back roads rather than the highway and I found it way worse to drive than to ride up it. I really don't like those narrow roads and drops with no barriers! They freak me out.
Enjoyed that. Would love to go to the Tourmalet one day even just to watch the Tour.
Bravoooo !
Beautiful scenery but I thought the video could have given more detail of the various gradients of the climb. You made it all look very casual and easy. From what I know it's a pretty challenging climb. I was due to climb it last week but Covid put a halt to our travel plans. Hopefully 2021.
Thank you for the suggestion. It really wasn't that challenging, Port du Bales is harder, it's just long. If you go full steam the whole way you can make it very challenging. We passed a group of 5 guys riding rented bikes in tees and shorts and they made it. I think It depends on what your goal is for the climb, mine was to enjoy it. As mentioned in the video the grade is very consistent so it's a matter of pacing yourself. There are websites that give the profile of climbs, so I wanted to speak to the beauty of the ride, not the technical aspect.😀 But I do have a beginners video coming out on how to approach mountain climbing, but I suspect none of it will be new to you.
Fingers crossed for you for 2021!!
Hi thinking of ordering a trim are you still getting on with it ok I just love the look of it, thanks for the great videos I love watching you and Nathan on your adventures!
I am enjoying it. I is super small. There's been an update since the video that added a few features such as automatic uploading to Strava as well as a beep for turns in navigation and Komoot integration. So it will be interesting to see what the next update brings. 😀
Try Col des Tentes and Col du Solour/Aubisque!
Awesome video, I hope to be able to climb the Tourmalet one day too! Got a tear in my eye and couldn't help but smile with your reaction at the 3:00, glad to see I'm not the only person who get so happy about mountains eheh. I miss the mountains so much but cause of corona won't be seeing them this year :(
It's a strange year isn't it. It's a strange effect those mountains can have on you. They are so beautiful and make you feel sooo little.
@@OneLessCar true. Where I live there are lots of hills but no big mountains, higher we have is 2000 meters. The first time I went to the Alps I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the mountains! In the italian side of the Matterhron there is a small village called Cervinia wich sits at 2000 meters and then behind it the mighty mountain like a huge wall rising 2400 meters above it, it is breathtaking to look at it.
P.S. Sidak is your second biggest fan!
Nice work!
Thanks!
Awesomely beautiful! Thanks for sharing. So, it looks like people get to write messages on the road?
They do, they are usually from the Tour Du France, so you see the pro's names who've cycled there before you. It's pretty cool, and a unique thing about cycling. Though those guys go up about 3-5x times faster than me 😂
It is a lovely climb, looks like you had a good day to ride, I rode this climb for the first time 2 years ago, what a day, did both sides including the Horquette d’Ancizan, then the Col d’Aspin and back over the Tourmalet.
We have booked to go back next year as we would like to ride the Lac de Cap-de-long.
Did you find the Pyrenees to be quieter and less commercialised than the Alps?
We drove back up and over the Tormalet and then the Col d'Aspin, in a car they made me feel a bit ill. I'd love to go back and cycle the other side of the Tormalet and ride the Col d'Aspin. So many roads to ride, so little time!
I've not been to the Alps as a cyclist (I've driven them in the middle of winter). So it's hard to say. I suspect yes, and I suspect it's less expensive. Next moutain range I have my eye on is the Dolimites.
🌟This American, her blue-eyed hubby, and two other cycling friends (one is a former pro cyclist!)will do this soon. Should be awesome!🌟
Excited for! You! 😀
Hi and great video! Can I ask what settings you use on your GoPro? I have a Hero Black 5 which I've recently put on my handlebars (mostly for safety reasons tbh), but I can only get an hour max of battery life - which isn't much use. I have tried googling for advice but nothing seems to work. I even bought a new battery, but the result was the same. Do you have the same issue, or do you have any tips about how to extend battery life? Cheers 👍
I don't use my gopro the way you do. I only record a few seconds at a time, at the most a couple of minutes. For really long rides I carry spare batteries as back up. However I rarely need them. Your battery life seems about right. One way you can reduce battery consumption is by turning on protune as there will be less in camera processing.
@@OneLessCar Thanks for the response - much appreciated 👍
I saw stage 8 of the Tour de France they got to these mountains 🏔, was this the same route y’all took?
If you watch the other video I made (the one before this one) of the Port du Balès, that's one of the climbs they did Saturday. It kicked a lot of their butts as well and it wasn't 37c 😁
Spectacular scenery, stunning views, great video! What gearing were you using? Definitely one for the bucket list after seeing this. 🚵🏽♂️😎
Good question. I had the usaul compact chain ring on the front (50-34) and my cassette is a 11-32 (love that 32!).
What app/website you use to edit videos 👀 if not secret
No secrets here 😀 I started with iMovie, then moved away from Mac and switched to Filmore and for the past 3 years I've been using Adobe premier pro.
@@OneLessCar thanks you 🌼
Where did you start from.
What cycling computer is that?
You can see more about it in this video 😀 ua-cam.com/video/lbb3Ney4eLY/v-deo.html (there's a giveaway to win one).
