I got so burnt out with the game. It started off cool but very quickly turned into a “ right let me open the game, click a few things, upgrade my whole team and wait again for tomorrow “
Sometimes I’d even do auto battle whilst I was having a shower or on the toilet, to come back, close the game then open the next day, collect the daily rewards and repeat. I felt so disconnected very quickly. Such a strange vibe

@@user-us3wq4np6k yeah but even when there’s actual things to do each week the game doesn’t make me feel like I even have to bother doing it, every single quest or mission feels the EXACT same.
thats just the genre of game it is. It isnt for everybody but for what it is, its really enjoyable

I mean…. That’s the point of the game? That’s all I play it for log in real quick tap tap log off it’s meant to be a side game that u play every now and then hence the name “AFK journey”
i tried it for a couple days at launch and the main thing that drove me away was the 17 billion different currencies/shops/time gated discounts which expire after a while/bundles advertised as 99999% value on which you can spend so much money and lose track of it.
Yep well said, its like playing a game that is 10+ years old where they've added everything but the kitchen sink. The currencies. The game modes. The weird progression and character development. I was shocked when I found out its been out 2 months since launch lol.
While the base game is pretty fun... this game is a total nightmare. Its been launched ~2 months now, and its a total mess of a system. The amount and oddity of all the various game modes, currencies, and odd character ability progression, makes this feel like playing a game that is 10+ years old and has had expansion/new content added again and again. Its really totally bizarre.
The differentiation between a "Whale" and a "FTP/Casual Spender" is enormous. The stuff that you can buy in game also is extremely hilariously priced. 1 soulstone and not a huge amount of loot to upgrade some characters... yeah 49.99 USD. Its just all around bizarre, and while I'm having fun (as I said the base game is pretty decent) now that I'm understanding how the seasons are setup, I doubt I'll keep playing after reaching the seasons.
I don't understand why a "Season' is just starting the map over for the server lol. Its just bizarre, and its not fun. Why not just make mobs respawn at your current level of difficulty instead of this weird world reset. I don't get it from a game strategy perspective, and I don't get it from a "fun" perspective. I do get it from a greedy developer perspective though... just sayin'. And I've played HW several years and spent my time as a whale. This game is just weird.

I’m playing the game right now, but I would never recommend this game to another human being. It’s one of those Gacha games where they have pop up special limited edition deals and stuff. If you have any inclination to spend on these sorts of games, you will be spending $10-$20 a week without even realizing that you’re doing it. It’s also one of those games where your progress is compared to everybody else’s to determine what kind of rewards you get at the end of the day, which drives competition, which drives spending. Be careful with this one.
wise words. I quickly realized all the progression systems except for their gear is directly ripped from Nikke, which is an excellent f2p game that I've played for a year and have everything in the game i want and need at this point. it is nowhere near as competitive though. I wonder where/how I'll feel about this game in a year in comparison. Though I did buy the growth bundle, because I think the game has enough production value in it to warrent a singular time purchase as if buying the game from steam

@@zyone6507 cool. The take away for those that read it remains the same however, sorry I didnt know about their previous game that holds no appeal to me. The take away, to reiterate, is that I’m confident I’ll be able to have a good f2p experience. Though maybe Nikke optimized on it and afk will fall flat, who knows. The competitiveness is certainly more direct in afkj
I've been really enjoying AFK Journey, the power balancing is pretty bad though in the new season 😅, you can be 20 levels higher than the enemy, and you will get stomped
Yeah Ive had this happen but also I think you gotta mind that you cant always brute force through but instead play into the enemies weaknesses with different types of units
@@nizidafabie Thats true, I've had to re-position units and try to play into team bonuses/weaknesses similar to AFK Arena to get through some stages. The seasonal content is def. much harder than the main content for sure

It’s been a fun game and taking full advantage of the afk stuff.
The supreme arena was a dud for me cause I didn’t have 3 strong team comps or wanted to bother with it.
But barely pushing story. Only when I’m bored but I do the pvp
Man people's switch up of this game is insane, a few weeks ago this was the greatest gacha to ever gacha.
They need to take out the use of Artifacts in the arena.
How do you have access to the new season and only been playing for 1 month??? I have been playing for over a month and I have to wait for my server hits 42 days which is absolute trash!
what I dont like about this game is that its super competetive and if you are f2p or a low spender you practically have no chance to get high ranks in events
All ranking cosmetics are temporary. Ranking resources are only required to maintain or improve the rank. As long as you don’t pay much attention to the rankings, the game is pretty chill.
@@qwbc5696 100% And in the long run, if you are a f2p, you will catch up. As long as you dont fall into the gacha trap and forget about rankings to avoid getting burnout, you'll have fun and enjoy the game/characters/gamplay/...

How do I access the new season??? I’m stumped and have done everything in the world map
1125 AFK stage, 240 resonance, complete the story, and check when it releases for your server on the event tab for the season. If it’s already released, it’ll notify you when you’re eligible through a quest. “The imposter”.

The fate of marlie depends upon the endless mode as true dmg only shines in endless mode when bosses mag def and phy def is all time high,so we can't say anything yet

With this new season the game got kind'a bad for me.Tho I actually enjoyed the first month. It was a good run ngl. But now it's time to shift since Wuthering Waves is already here.
Afk journey is really trying hard to get players to play their game by sponsoring many CC's, but because Wuthering Waves is coming many players like me not even gonna think about it😂😂

I’m still enjoying the game. The new season story is actually good with great VO. So much more engaging and well written compared to the base game. Sadly, I hate being timegated based on server age for story progression. But I’m in it for the long haul.

Me and my friends already quit this game, not consumer friendly. Especially the fact that the initial seasonal rewards was gonna be horrendous and stingy af, if not bcs of the community's collective effort and complains, they wouldn't changed it. And we can't say for sure if they're gonna do it again in the future.
Devs really messed it up, seasons should be rewarding, not limited. What a way to ruin the game. Was about to buy the noble path but i thought about it and it will be irrelevant bcs of the cross server modes, whales will just consume me and i do not hope to compete with the district rankings.
This game will just be buried if Wuthering Waves comes out and honestly wouldn't mind if it does.
